  1. I'm glad they're sitting Andrews. I think it's wise. Likely has been outstanding. I think they'll Andrews next week though. I wonder if our defensive strategy will be the same one we used against them in game 1. Show Stroud a ton of different looks and keep the pressure on him. Here's hoping our 2 offensive tackles can keep the Texans defensive ends from sandwiching Jackson.
  2. Humphrey's really been having his problems the last few years. I wish he could play. He's pretty damned good in the slot.
  3. Yeah, I agree. Hold him out this week and let him play some next week.
  4. I agree that the scheduled opponents aren't that bad, especially compared to this year. Sooner or later the fat quarterback contracts are going to come back to affect the Browns, Bengals, etc. as well as the Ravens.
  5. It's really good that Lamar is locked in. He has to remain 'in the zone' and hopefully the rest of the offense is getting the message. I think Roquan will keep the defense on point. The current window for us is closing. 20 free agents coming up and not much cap space. It will be awhile before we have as good a chance to win a ring again. The future is now.
  6. Zay Flowers and Oweh were also at practice today.
  7. Hats off to the Bucs too. They were ready to play and Mayfield, who has quietly had a great season, was superb. The Browns should have kept him and not gone for the idiotic Watson deal.
  8. The Ravens' defense is good. Is it good enough? Can MacDonald work his magic one more time? Will Lamar have a zoned in day like he's been having? The weather is going to be windy and cold. Which team, if either, adapts to that? Will Kyle Hamilton be the difference maker? Is he healthy? Questions, questions, questions. The answers come in just 5 more days.
  9. Well I gotta say, CJ really impressed me with his performance against the Browns' defense. He scares me. But I think LJ and company can beat them. Question is, only the game will tell. I can't predict this one.
  10. He may be obnoxious but I don't think Jones knows what he's doing anymore in the football realm. He interferes way too much.
  11. Who would you rather have: Texans or Steelers?
  12. I refuse to watch NFL football behind pay walls. Screw 'em.
  13. The way the Browns and Flacco started off, I thought the Texans might be in for a long day but CJ came around and did his thing while Joe self-destructed with 2 (!) pick-sixes and they were on back to back series. As you had mentioned before, Joe doesn't have the mobility to move around in the pocket and extend the play.
  14. Yeah, he's been so productive, it's sometimes hard to remember he's only a rookie and this is his first long season. And he didn't practice the week before the last game he played in and sure did alright.
  15. Well, we'll see how fit Andrews really is during practice next week. I think highly of him, of course, but Likely has really impressed me as well. Meanwhile, as of yesterday, Flowers hasn't practiced since for two weeks due to his calf injury. Hopefully, he's back at practice next week too though I haven't read anything to confirm that. Otherwise, sounds like all systems are 'go'. I'm going to watch the Browns game for sure today. I've always liked Flacco but I want to see the Browns lose. Their defense is right up there with the best.
  16. Do you mean rotate them or use some 2 TE sets? I could see us doing both if Mark is healthy enough.
  17. Mark Andrews was back at practice today, eight weeks after his injury. He must be a quick healer! Likely has been playing so well, though, I wouldn't rush him back just yet. Interesting problem as to which TE to play.
  18. Right! They need to focus on the proverbial 'one game at a time'. I think they've got the talent this year to do it.
  19. Right now I'm enjoying a 13-4 record and looking forward to watching the wild card teams duke it out this weekend. To me the season has already been a success.
  20. I absolutely want to see at least a couple of post-season wins. But, I have to add that watching the Ravens this year was great entertainment and this season was just what I wanted to see. A Super Bowl would be the icing on the cake.
  21. Yep, I agree that Harbs is doing the smart thing again, rested them up as much as possible Saturday then a normal practice week this week. I had no idea Joe has thrown interceptions at that pace but he will be an easy target on the pass rush. But we'll know for sure who we are playing after this coming weekend. Meanwhile, looks like we're gonna lose both Monken and MacDonald to other teams after the playoffs. That along with 20 players having their contracts up after this season and there will be quite the change coming next year. Hell, if we win it all, I'm thinking Harbs may retire. What else would he have to prove?
  22. Funny thing, the only playoff team that I don't want to face is Miami again. Not that the other teams would be easy games, they would not, but Miami just has so much damned speed, and they'd be coming in with a chip on their shoulder after the thrashing we gave them.
  23. I'm so glad we rested our injured and our starters as much as we could. So the Steelers travel up to Buffalo next week. Should be an interesting game to watch.
  24. It doesn't hurt to give Cook a chance. We do miss Dobbins and Keaton, but Hill has been showing some speed of late.
