And the good vibes just keep on flowing! Let's keep it going!
-
I'm impressed with all the good vibes being generated by what the players themselves are saying. You expect the coaches to be fired up every year at this time, but the players are indicating that they have a really good chemistry building throughout this team and chemistry is probably more important in football than any other sport. So yes, it is only the early days of practice, but I'd rather have our team than any other in the AFC North right now. Look at all the messiness in Cincinnati, for example. Of course, we have yet to hear any of the players or team management talk about necessary extensions and re-negotiations of contracts, but I am very happy at this moment.

The 63 yarder was witnessed by the press. The team also reported he hit one from 68 yards later on another field that wasn't open to the media. Yes it's only practice but it shows his potential.
-
And a little more from Jeff Zebreic: "The Ravens’ notoriously difficult conditioning test has delayed the training camp debuts of many players over the years. However, it didn’t hold anyone out of action this year. Eighty-eight of the team’s 91 players participated in the first practice. The only exceptions were third-round offensive tackle Emery Jones Jr. (shoulder), defensive back Ar’Darius Washington (Achilles) and inside linebacker Jake Hummel (hand). Jones is on the non-football injury list and is expected to miss the first couple of weeks of camp. Washington will miss most, if not all, of the regular season after tearing his Achilles during an offseason workout. Hummel cut his hand in a non-football accident and will likely miss at least the first week of camp."

Well, Day One is over...takeaways included all members of the O & D lines coming to camp already in shape, Flowers tweaking something in leg but returning to play at full-go (hopefully OK tomorrow with no swelling), and in general, just good vibes from the team about how and where they want to go.
-
I know I'm really looking forward to it. I'm ready for some football!
-
They sure could use a big body in the middle. But the league is so pass happy now, we may get away with it.
-
Well they got him now. I expect a lot from him and hope he delivers.
-
That would be great news. I hope it comes about. Same for Likely. And I’m real glad Green is on board. One less distraction.
-
Here it is, official: https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/mike-green-rookie-contract-ravens-second-round-pick-2025. Good...one last distraction.

Is anything ever easy when it comes to contract negotiations with the Ravens? They still need to re-negotiate Lamar's contract, the elephant in the room.
-
SFO signed their 2nd round pick with partial guaranteed money terms.
-
Well, it helps for sure but I'm not a big Oweh fan and van Noy can't have much more left in the tank. So, I guess Green is an important cog in the wheel. Maybe more important than I first thought. It'll be interesting to see if he shows up today (rookies report) or if he is going to hold out. Or, hold in. it's pretty bad that two teams caved on the fully guaranteed money deals for 2nd round picks.
-
Papa, I think even if he is a good pass rusher, they are still going to need to scheme it.
-
Yes...the silence on this is deafening.
-
I dunno...this sounds like a hot, tight competition. I can't wait for camp and the preseason games to get started. Since both guys are Rookies, camp starts for them this coming Tuesday the 15th.
-
Well if it turns out to be true, it'll be one hell of a good move.
-
What is the source of this rumor?
-
Yep good points in that he might be a good mentor to younger receivers and be productive in the red zone.
-
He might turn out to be this year's version of Anquan in 2012.
-
Definitely so, at least until the injuries start piling up as always happens. Will be interesting to see who gets the most reps at TE. Plus, we'll have Starks and our 2nd round pick in competition with the regulars.
-
Yes I read it. I know it's just OTA's but one of the things they did to increase 'pressure' on him was have Bisciotti stand right behind him while he attempted some FG's. He missed 5 straight kicks. Just have a feeling in my gut that Loop may not be the answer. I know that doesn't mean much right now, but I'd like to see them bring in even more competition for camp.

Yep Borregales is the guy we lost out on and that I was hoping we'd draft. He's the one who won the Groza award for best college kicker. I guess Eric didn't see that coming. We had the capital to move up a few spots and take him, but he decided to stand pat. Now we have a kicker who struggled through OTA's. Now there's still time for him to turn it around, but so far I'm not pleased at the whole way it went down.
