I understand your concerns about Stanley but I think he can give us one more year. Faalelle is big and has some talent but I see him more as a backup or rotational guy. That's why I'm worried here...plus our depth is non-existent.
-
One of the better picks they could have made given the run on OTs. But who is going to play RT this year? By that I mean who's ready at pick 62 to start at RT? I fear the answer is 'nobody'.
-
Actually, I expect them to trade down into the 2nd to get more picks especially since EDC said there's only 20 players with first round value on our board. 'Course, he might just be blowing smoke. We'll see.

If they haven't drafted by 11, I'll go to bed and see who they got on an iPad. As for the evening...I'll look at ESPN here and there to see what's happening. I'm planning on watching a 'Yellowstone' season 1 episode tonight with my wife.

Succinctly put and spot on.

27 is young enough to still improve, but as each year goes by it is more and more difficult to change. He did show strides of improvement last year as well as some foot-dragging at other times. IF he gets adequate protection this year, I think then we'll know if he is going to progress as a passer to the next level. My biggest concern though with Lamar is can he get his timing down on the deep ball to open receivers? We left some deep gains on the field last year because he had trouble timing his throws to receivers who had a full stride on the defender, but the ball was overthrown. I think the ability is there for him to do that physically, but has this become a psychological roadblock for him?
-
As long as the offensive line holds up, everything should work to Lamar's advantage.
-
Now all we need is for Lamar to throw the ball to him. He was open quite a bit last year, but the ball didn't come his way. He did drop a few and maybe Lamar didn't trust him?
-
There's nothing not to like about the deal. It's about as team friendly as can be.
-
I don't think we should go anywhere but with an OT in the first round and at this point in this mock Guyton is still available. And i think I like USC's Rice in a later round for WR.
-
Yep, we need a wr who's capable of going up for the ball and fighting for it. And I agree...wait until later to draft a RB. I don't have access to pff...was one of the 3 tackles an OT/G type?
-
Good stuff in that post! I'd be a happy camper if we can get Guyton at 30 and he turns out as good as they say he can. Wide receiver speculations were intriguing though I don't want anybody who had a 12.5% drop rate in college. It's going to be a tough choice should it come down to taking either Guyton or McAllister.
-
If they pick up his option before the draft I think they won't take a receiver on day one or two. If not, I think they'll press ahead and pick one even if there is a few days before his option expires.
-
Well, at the very least I hope Zay learned a big lesson here.

LA Chargers are becoming the Ravens West Coast Branch. Will be interesting to see Gus and JK back in a Roman offense.
-
Looks like JK Dobbins is off to join Gus Edwards and Greg Roman with the Chargers.

Good stuff, Papa...thanks for posting. Sounds like a lot of OT talent in this draft even where we are drafting. I like McConkey, but not as our first pick. Right about not needing DL help now that Justin is with us for the long haul. Right now we're 3 offensive lineman short from last year. We should probably be drafting help there with our first and third (second?) picks.
-
Papa, who do you have in mind?
-
I wouldn't advocate trading up unless it was to jump just a few spots for a guy who can start right away. But I think there will be opportunities at 30 and even up to high round 2 to get an OT. I wouldn't move up unless it was for that stud offensive lineman we need so bad. After round 1, things really become a crap shoot whether you're looking for RB, WR or another lineman. But that's the hand we have.
-
That makes sense. Do you have any opinion on Renfrow?
-
The draft is just 2 weeks away and I was wondering what you all thought about whether the Ravens should try and trade up, trade down, or just stay where they are. Should they go up to get a higher probability of success player or down into the second round to get more picks? Or is the best course to just take from what's available at spot number 30. They've got 2 fourth round picks, and they could possibly combine one of them with their first to move up. If they trade down, they can get more picks, but they give up the possibility of having a 1st round pick for 5 years. If they stay where they are, should they take BPA or hope they fill one of their needs with whoever is there? There's a lot riding on this draft. The team has been hamstrung by their cap status in free agency and badly needs an infusion of young talent. Oh, and finally, should they be attempting to sign Hunter Renfrow to a cap friendly contract or is the draft a better option for another wide receiver?
-
There seems to be a lot of offensive tackles of quality in this draft. One of the very good ones should fall to us at 30. That's what I hope happens. Because of all the free agent losses, I agree with the analyst who said that DeCosta might have to stray a bit from his best player available draft strategy and go with the BPA for a position of need this year.
-
Ravens sign van Noy to 2 year $10mil contract. Hope he gets near his 9 sacks again.
-
I see things in a different light today...I don't think it's as bad a deal as I thought yesterday but I'm surprised they couldn't get more for him, like a 2 and a 4 without giving up any of their own picks. $31 million in dead cap ain't nothing to be sneezed at.
-
I think they're in a self-destruct mode. That has to rate as one of the worst trades in NFL history.
