OK...OK, I didn't mean to start another round of contention here...Um, I actually thought Preston was pretty complimentary about the Ravens. I'm not worried about the defensive line though. I think it will be tough. Its the O-line that scares the hell out of me.

I feel real good about the offense with one big exception: is the offensive line going to be as good as last year's our worse? Not that it was great last year, but at least it didn't get Joe or Ray killed.

Its a tough case. Part of me wants the team to cut him, the other part hopes he's in shape and can start practicing right away. I don't feel real good that that is the case.

The contract for Joe is going to require some imagination from both parties. I like Joe. However, he's not at this time an elite qb like Brady or Manning. But he could become one. Therefore, they should give him top 10 to 5 base contract with enough incentives to be in the elite category, such as extra money for an AFC Championship game, a low interception to TD ration, yards gained, etc. It isn't a perfect solution because so much depends on Cam's offensive philosophy and how they use Joe and then how he performs. But it seems more reasonable than just sticking him in with the top 5 or in the 10-5 spot without any hope of getting more money.

Reed has really begun to piss me off. He isn't acting like a team player at this point. He's signed to a contract and should just fulfill it. You mean 7.2 million isn't enough for a safety at his age? C'mon.

I hate quarterback controversies. They're bad for the fans and the team. A long term contract for Joe would help put an end to them.

Its funny in a way because I remember when Jim Parker, the All-Everything offensive lineman of the late 50s and 60s, almost always put on too much weight in the off-season. Then, just before training camp, he would drive around town with the windows closed (no AC in those days) in the July heat and sweat-lose whatever poundage was required.

The one thing I don't like about Harbaugh (and mostly I think he's a very good coach) is this annoyance about being asked about injuries. What the hell is the big deal about keeping it all secret? Especially doesn't make sense this time of year before they are actually playing anybody.

If the Ravens OL can't be productive and protective, it could easily mean no playoffs for the Ravens this year.

If Cam doesn't improve dramatically this year, they've GOT to get a new OC.

I read this on the Ravens' website and felt stunned. I wonder if this means whoever played LG in the OTA's didn't shine. Might be a good pickup though.
