You have to look at it that Birk is in there more for his brains now than his blocking ability as he makes the calls for the O-line.

In the back of my mind is what happened to us after we crapped on the Steelers in the opening game last year. Hope the Ravens have learned their lesson about letdowns and being on the road.

The defense was slack against the run and couldn't deliver pressure until a lead got built up. That could be a warning for when we face teams like NE. I admit to being worried until the 3rd quarter. But, the Ravens were definitely the class of the AFC North this past weekend. The Steelers appear to have major offensive line issues. The Browns are, well, they're the Browns. The Bengals came out looking like a fighting team but wilted under our offense. And lets not forget, guys, this is only game 1. Its a long season. Good news is we came out of the game healthy.

When they first announced the line on TV I was stupified and thought it was a bad move...Just goes to show you what I knew. Harewood at OG?? Osemele at RT?? Shocked, yes, shocked by their superb play. I think Matt Birk may have had it. He got bull-rushed badly on that sack of Joe. I mean when your a lineman and the defensive guy bowls you over onto your backside, thats a bad sign.

I've been a long time critic of Cam. However, you have to give credit where its due. Since the preseason the Ravens 1st team no huddle offense has looked impressive. I believe Cam and Harbs and especially Joe Flacco should get most of the credit. The remaining credit goes to Ozzie for drafting Torrey,Pitta, Osemele and trading for Jacoby. I will say that Joe has been an advocate of this type of offense for the last 2 years at least.

Well the ruling is you can't sack the QB by leading with your helmet...I didn't know that but thats what they're saying on TV.

Ngata comes through as does Cary Williams. The defensive line has to play better though especially against the Bengals with their suspect OL.

Good quarter for the Ravens...defense has to step up and stop making mistakes.
