  1. It took them more than 3 quarters but the offense woke up and won the game. Great game by our Defense as well. After 3 quarters I was disgusted but the 4th quarter and overtime were pure excitement and THATS what its all about.
  2. WWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! Headline should read: Flacco Wakes Up, Ray Has Miracle Run After Catch
  3. 9 plays 80 yards. Where the hell was this offense earlier????????????????
  4. I really like the rugby rule. Guys have been spearing with their helmets and leading with them for decades. It not only results in concussions but leads to injuries on the player getting speared too.
  5. Its possible Joe got hurt. I have definitely noticed his play falls off if he's in pain. Maybe that explains his 'zoned out' look too.
  6. I think Pierce needs more opportunities when Ray is effectively bottled up.
  7. I thought Tomlin made a very poor decision in not letting Batch play after it was clear to everybody Leftwich couldn't throw any more. Can't understand why a coach would leave a guy hurting that badly in the game.
  8. To some degree it looked like Joe didn't have his head in the game. Instead of being in a zone he looked zoned out. And I've been a big defender of him.
  9. Rice had 20 carries last night and could only produce 40 yards despite the fact he was running hard. The offensive line was outplayed by the Steelers defense on running plays. Of course, this begs the question of why didn't the O try play action more and where were the slant patterns?? By the way, Flacco was way off last night. A real clunker of a game for him.
  10. Max, a quick and complete recovery for you!!
  11. Suggs can't do it by himself. We need another pass rusher and we don't have one this year.

    Halfway

My conjecture is that the glass is half empty and the Ravens are almost running on fumes right now considering how difficult the rest of the schedule is. We could quite possibly wind up at 8-8. The Steelers have gotten over their early season stumbles and are almost 'hot' right now or at least warm. They seem to be on the upswing and the Ravens on the downswing. Know this, though, I tend to be more of a pessimist than an optimist. But I am definitely worried.
  13. I'm not quite ready to call him a bust but I'm damned close to it. Don't think much of Upshaw either though reporters say he's decent against the rush.
  14. We win but it tweren't easy. I tip my hat to the D on that last 'drive' by the Browns.
  15. Another nice play by Torrey. But I have no faith in the defense.
  16. As accurate as Joe was to start the game, he's been that inaccurate since the second TD. What happened to running slants with Boldin?
  17. Penalties are killing us and Joe has been off the last few plays.
  18. We need to keep running the ball and keep the defense off the field.
  19. Fantastic catch by Torrey Smith!
  20. That was one beautiful drive by the offense. I love the play action and Rice running plays.
  21. I'm not optimistic...Max is right: it will be up to the offense to make up for our crappy defense.
  22. I like the no-huddle hurry-up offense a lot but its time to ditch it, especially on the road. Our defense needs to be off the field more. If we run Ray Rice and Joe has an 'on' day we'll win it but I was stunned when the Brownies beat the Chargers.
  23. Its an old football axiom that you have to use the run to set up the pass. Joe is great on play action but they haven't been running that kind of offense. Joe and Cam both need to look in the mirror and accept what they are and then utilize their strengths. By the way, Flacco has been sacked 18 times so far---the third worst in the league.
  24. We should put the no-huddle hurry-up offense on the back burner. Our defense just isn't good enough be on the field if the offense is misfiring with 3 and outs. Limit the D's time on the field. Go back to the huddle-up as as others have mentioned and I absolutely agree with, throw some damn screens to Boldin and Ray and at least occasionally use a 4-wide set.
  25. With the defense as bad as it has been it sure wouldn't hurt to try out the 4-3 defense and cover 2. It appears our CBs are not successful playing man-man with Webb out. Does any other team still use the 4-3?
