  1. I did read that he has liabilities of 10 million with 14 million in assets but the assets are currently not liquid (houses, cars, etc.). So if he sells everything he owned he'd still have a few million in cash.
  2. So many of these guys, and its been this way for 50 years, come from poor backgrounds and don't get good advice from their agents and financial advisers. Its so sad. Even Johnny U. had a hard time making it after football.
  3. I'm not optimistic about Cam.
  4. http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/2012/05/25/jacoby-jones-makes-strong-first-impression/ His dropped punt in the playoff game was huge against us. But he seems to be doing and saying all the right things. Just hope he's not another TJ or Lee Evans and that he can hold onto the damn ball!
  5. Yeah, I agree. I haven't been real impressed with him so far.
  6. I think it will be a fun season and pre-season. Hell, I get excited over OTA's and training camp.
  7. Ray is important to the team but not as important as re-signing Flacco whose negotiations are also moving slowly. Running backs don't last very long but QB's have good longevity in the NFL.
  8. Like I said, not a big issue. I was just trying to see if I was the only one that felt he could have said a bit more rather than he's 'growing' into the job and that he was 'becoming' a vital part. Seems to me he's already grown into a GM position and his contributions are already completely vital. Just sayin'...
  9. We need him a lot. Maybe they should have promoted him to Deputy or Associate GM and I thought Ozzie could have been a little more generous with his appraisal. Probably not a big issue...just has me wondering.
  10. Hmmm, Newsome's comments on De Costa's promotion to Assistant GM: “When we extended Eric’s contract earlier this year, we changed his title to Assistant GM,” Newsome said. “As Eric continues to grow in the personnel department, he is becoming a vital part of the decision-making process.”" Sounds a little like damning with faint praise especially since a number of teams have displayed interest in De Costa as a GM candidate now.
  11. If the Ravens did this, they would fall quite a bit in my esteem. I think and hope they're too classy to sink to the level of withholding checks.
  12. Mike Brown is cheap and I wouldn't want him for an owner ever but he did get good value on the Carson Palmer trade.
  13. http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/2012/05/14/justin-tucker-looking-forward-to-billy-cundiff-battle/ Should turn out to be an interesting battle throughout the summer.
  14. Hopefully, all this gets straightened out in camp and pre-season, otherwise the offense will regress further this season putting even more pressure on the Suggs-less D.
  15. I too will never forget him playing, and catching, with one arm. One of the grittiest performances in any sport I've seen.
  16. Derrick Mason: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-derrick-mason-likely-to-retire-as-raven-20120511,0,4442912.story

He's hardnosed but so was Ricky Williams and it didn't help. The O-line had trouble pushing off the line.
  18. I'm so glad Billick's gone...I just got fed up with his rhetorical bullshit year in and year out and his inability to do anything with our offense. Harbaugh has his line of BS too but he's not as arrogant as BB.

Yup...I don't blame either Rice or Ricky Williams there.

And we were no good rushing in short yardage situations.
  21. Its amazing that a guy who was supposed to be an offensive genius could turn out to be so clueless on quarterbacks. Scott Mitchell (remember the 'leap of fatih'?), Stoney Case, Tony Banks, Kyle Boller to name just the ones that come to mind quickly.

Tom Brady was sacked 32 times; Drew Brees was sacked 24 times. Don't know the average in 2011 but in 2008 it was 32.6.
  23. I do hope you guys are right, but as of now anyway, I see a much tougher road than last year.
  24. This, along with the improvements the Steelers and Bengals made in the draft, may presage the death knell of our team's possibilities to get into the playoffs this year. I'm not optimistic, especially since I don't think we've adequately been able to improve the offense as much as our rivals did to improve their weaknesses. I hope I'm wrong but we may be entering a 2-year rebuiliding effort.
  25. What i meant was: Upshaw could be a lot better than JJ and Kindle might provide a shot in the arm too. But its all totally supposition at this point. We'll know a lot more once we see these guys in action again.
