Is this guy worth taking a 6th round pick on? I know, no NFL arm and he's not a big guy but he knows Monken's offense and thrived under him. Also, smart guy. What do we have to lose by taking a 6th round pick on him?

Lamar is a mess. He needs an agent badly. Whatever he's doing right now is so not working that he should try doing the opposite.

So as much as it hurts to say this, sounds like eventually Lamar plays under the tag for one more year here before the whole mess happens again next year. Groundhog Day, the movie.

OK...I agree with that, but shouldn't we be grooming somebody to avoid the mess we're in now from happening again next year? Huntley isn't the answer. And, if we're not going to groom a draftee, shouldn't we be signing a better backup quarterback? I don't want to be so damned dependent on LJ next year.

We're drafting at #22. Should would stay there or draft down some spaces to get another 3rd round pick? Also, if he is there, should we take Herndon Hooker from the Vols? I'd be tempted to take Hooker even if Lamar agrees to playing on the tag but you guys follow college football more closely than I do so what's your guess?

WTF??!! This is a brainless move. $13 guaranteed! The only guarantee we have is more distractions for the franchise.

Just keep Carly Simon in mind ("Anticipay-yay-shun"). All the unknowns will be at least partially known after the draft but we may have to wait longer, much longer on the resolution of the Lamar issue. I will say this: if he holds out I'd trade his ass to the highest bidder for picks in 2024. I wouldn't wait until training camp in July. The drop dead date should be the OTA's. If no one wants him, let him rot somewhere while we obtain a free agent, any free agent quarterback who wants to come here.

OK...sounds like a possibility though one writeup I just read after reading your post said arm strength is an issue with him...how about Monken's QB at Georgia? I know you follow the Bulldogs. I also know I can't expect a mid-late round QB to not being a project to varying degrees.

Thanks for the info guys. From what you've said and from what I've read, I agree he's a day two pick option depending on what else is available. All I know is that I don't feel comfortable with Huntley as our #1 quarterback. Any other lesser known college qb's who might slip to day 2 or 3 and be worth taking a shot at?

Choices are limited. Bridgewater would be better than Huntley but injury history is indeed the question. Wentz a better option? What do you guys know about Tennessee Vols quarterback Hooker? He might be on our draft radar but I have never seen him play. Could be available day 2.

Who do we have to throw to him? I find it hard to fathom him coming here.

Wouldn't they have to allocate $42 million in cap money if we do this again next year? Definitely agree we need a better qb than Huntley...trouble is the best of the available ones have already been scooped up.

When my wife (mis)read what she saw on the 'net today, she called out to me "Did we trade Lamar to the Colts?", I jumped out of my chair only to find she was looking at a mock draft and didn't know it was a mock. I was all excited for a brief few seconds only to have my hopes dashed. Close but no cigar!

Lamar is going to be an albatross around our neck as long as he's with the team. We might as well cut him loose for all the nothing we're going to get for him with the tag on him. Hate to say this, really, but we might have to just let him go as a free agent and spend the $32 million elsewhere if nothing develops during or right after the draft. We're rapidly approaching the lowest point of the Ravens history here. And, please Harbs...stop blowing sunshine up our ass about how much you/we love Lamar.

I hope that what I heard from Harbaugh's 'everything is beautiful' presser today was merely because he hadn't had time to digest what Lamar's tweet really said. The time for such sentiments with Lamar is over. Harbs needs to be more circumspect when he is asked about Lamar and not be such a fan boy. Now, as long as I'm dreaming, it would be great if we could work out a deal with the Colts and draft, lets say, Will Levis. yeah...I'm dreaming.

Another board I lurk at is pretty much "how fast can we trade him". Interspersed here and there with an "Oh no the sky is falling"! Well I, for one, will say this. Yes, many of the games he played were exciting but all that stopped the last two years after he began to get hurt and didn't play the last four games of both seasons. I was especially disheartened when he didn't show up for the sidelines of the Cincy game. Now anybody can get hurt but this past year it seemed his injury was more an excuse than a reason. The last 4 games watching his 'All-Star' backup weren't very good. What really gets me is I think he planned this exit over the last two years. His 'friend' Marquise was traded and though Brown hasn't done much, Lamar sulked on the sidelines. And as is true with running quarterbacks injuries, mount up and take a toll on talent if they can't adapt to become pocket passers. With all that mess we were then treated to him demanding an exorbitant contract that would have crippled the rest of the team. Time is ripe for him to go. Preston was right.

Somewhat relieved that we're now in the public stages of 'the mess'. While I'd prefer a trade with the Colts for two picks I'd be happy to see him go to anybody really. Just get out of town and let us get on with the future of the Ravens. Question now becomes, does anybody really want him for what they'd have to give up in a trade. EDC might have to settle for less if someone fails to give him an offer sheet. But at this point, I want to see the Ravens front office actively seek a trade. Come on Eric...start working their phones now!
