I'd be curious to know how many snaps Oweh and Ojaba had. I didn't hear their names mentioned at all.
By the way, I was disappointed in the play-by-play guys...seemed they always were talking up the Commanders.
The entertainment level should be really high this year as the offense provides some fireworks but I worry about all the injuries to the secondary especially if we can't generate more pass rush than we saw last night. On too many plays Howell had all day to throw.
Huntley still nursing his injury tweak. And yes the streak could quit possibly end tonight but the game will be good experience for the backups. Keeping my fingers crossed on the injury front.
And I have no idea why ESPN is showcasing this game. Seems stupid to me.
He's coming off an ACL tear but beggars can't be choosers.
I think you're right about Fuller. Sign him too.
As for my previous suggestion that they make a trade, I'll have to pull back. I don't know if anyone would be willing to trade us a good cornerback. They're too valuable.
I have no problem bringing Fuller back but I think they need to make a trade rather than continually relying on guys off the street.
Right now this is a BIG problem for the start of the season.
Our cornerbacks can never catch a break. Marlon Humphrey will be out for a month after having ankle surgery.
Year after year we never have enough depth in the secondary no matter how many we have and injuries decimate us.
WTF is going on?
SI's write-up sounds very promising notes for Monken's O and the defense as well.
It's just pre-season game one, but results were positive pretty much all around.
Can't wait until the real season starts with the regulars playing.
I agree. Keeping the established players on the bench for tonight is a good idea. We're so thin at CB it's scary. Gotta get them healthy for the 'real' season. I think next week we might want to see the starters play a series just so they can get some real play time under their belts.
Whaddya think...sit them all for the whole preseason or give them a taste next week?
Bateman back practicing today. I just hope his health holds up. If the 'three amigos' (OBJ, Flowers, Bateman) can all be injury free this year then it should be a dynamite offense.
Yep...seems like Todd's getting them up to speed and just maybe the offense was a little extra sharp because of the humiliation of the previous practice.
Heard that Bateman was running up and down the sidelines yesterday. It would be great if he was able to play when the regular season starts.
