Well, maybe they might make him an offer he can't refuse.
-
Yeah I agree. How can you not like the Georgia offense. I'd be happy with Eric but we'd probably have to cut a deal that he would be our next HC after the coming season if his offense is productive. Overall, Monken is probably the best fit.
-
Who would you rather have, Bieniemy, Monken, or an Eagles guy?
-
I had also been a Bienemy fan but then I found out it's really Andy Reid that calls the plays, so now I don't know how I feel about that one. I would list my preferences as: Monken, Angelichio, then Canales.

Hey thanks, Tsyl There's some successful guys on 'the list' and at least one head scratcher in the Denver case. I just really hope they're waiting on the freedom of the offensive guys in KC and Philly and that they're not just stalling before naming somebody from within. And like you, I'm a Monken fan.

Glad you're back Max! Lots of potential stories in the air about OC and Lamar for sure, but nothing yet that we can hang our hat on. As for Roman, I don't think any pro team has interviewed him at this point. But I don't know for sure.
-
Max, hope you're OK...haven't heard from you for a while.
-
Agree on Outten---can't comprehend the attraction there. He's practically a Roman clone. I'd be really pumped if they got Monkton too.

Today there's news we're interviewing or will interview Monken, Canales and Outten a 2nd time.

Preston: It’s time for the Ravens and Lamar Jackson to part ways
oldno82 replied to vmax's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I'd prefer a 1st and 2nd round pick this year, a 1st next year, and a 2nd the third year. -
There is that plus Wilson tanked after he left Seattle.

Seahawks QB Coach Dave Canales Requested for Interview in AFC North The Seattle Seahawks could now find themselves in danger of losing one of their longest-tenured coaches. Zach Dimmitt Jan 21, 2023 4:16 PM EST The Baltimore Ravens have requested to interview with Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Dave Canales for their vacant at offensive coordinator, per reports Saturday from ESPN. The Ravens parted way with offensive coordinator Greg Roman on Thursday. Canales, who has been an assistant with the Seahawks since 2010, was a major reason for the success that quarterback Geno Smith had during his Pro Bowl campaign this season. While Smith surprised the league due to his own personal late-career growth, his performance is now unofficially helping Canales earn more recognition from around the league. Landing the offensive coordinator job in Baltimore is far from set in stone, but Canales' potential departure would end what has been a long-standing career for him in Seattle with coach Pete Carroll. After beginning as a strength coach at USC alongside Carroll, Canales followed the would-be legendary Seahawks to Seattle in 2010. He served as the team's receivers coach from 2010-17 before focusing on quarterbacks and the passing game. Canales could find himself with a Ravens team that has some uncertainty surrounding the future of star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

No to a guaranteed contract or the franchise tag (unless they intend to quickly tag and trade). Whatever happens they have to have this tied up before the draft. Preferably, before even March 7. A trade to Indy looks like a good fit picks wise. -
Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Yep...that's another thing I don't like about tagging him: the fact that he can hold-in until the season starts. If we can't sign him by the 5 week deadline, I'd trade him for sure. What teams are out there that might be a fit for us trading him for picks? BTW, Baker Mayfield is a FA and if we could sign him for 'right price' might make a good bridge to a new rookie QB. Thoughts? -
I thought the league had a policy of no fires/no hires in the week before the SB. Quite possibly I'm wrong but didn't it exist at one time?
-
Yep...I have a real dislike for Cincy and their overinflated egos. But I'll watch the SB. Should be an entertaining game if KC gets some receivers back.
-
Yep. That's important too. I like what I've seen from Monkton but there's so many candidates and teams in the hunt I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much.
-
I agree a bit fat NO to Richardson. I wonder if the Colts would be interested in a Lamar trade if it comes to that. A lot of the other picks were interesting though I really want to see us go receiver as much as possible instead of a cornerback for the first round. Peters has frequently looked out of control on the sidelines. We're lucky he didn't draw some penalties and that Harbs was patient with him.
-
He would be great but what if nobody competent wants to come here because of the uncertainty at QB1?
-
They're not going to drop JK or Bowser unless they know Bowser spread the leaflets across the floor and we don't have any idea who did it. I have seen many times over the past few years where Marcus Peters was in Harbaugh's face on the sideline and not only was he still with the team last season, he got an extension a couple of years before that. Plus Harbaugh's not the only vote that counts. We do have a GM and an owner.
-
They won't draft a RB in the 1st round and I think they would agree with you and me on the reasoning.
-
Now there's a scary thought!
-
Or, they could bring Cam Cameron or Matt Cavanaugh.
