  1. The defense has been almost rock solid with Roquan here but the offense continues to suck. They better find a way to keep him because he's one of those rare guys who elevates the play of other players around him. Calais will probably hang them up after this year. We need big guys on the D-line to keep Smith free to play his style just like we did with Ray Lewis.
  2. Well...I'd rather see Brown than Huntley and Lamar over either but I think we may have seen Lamar play his last game as a Raven. It's going to be an interesting off-season. But I gotta admit, it'd be something to remember if Brown could lead the Ravens to a victory.
  3. I am not optimistic about Lamar playing next week...let's see if he even practices first. Rust??
  4. I've been wanting to see Brown get a chance for a week or two now. Surely he can hand the ball off as well as Huntley and who knows what he might be able to do with an arm that's not hurting like Huntley's is. Give the rookie a chance.
  5. Agree. Might as well see if Brown has anything anyway.
  6. Unless the Bengals sit all their starters, there is no way we will win this game.
  7. The Smith question bugs me too. I wouldn't mind seeing Lamar go, Roman go, and a bunch of other dead wood in the coaches department. Bisciotti could always give Harbaugh a 'pre-retirement' job and replace him as HC. But, I really would like to see Smith here long term. If he goes we gave up too much to get him and this team is going nowhere but down fast.
  8. It is indeed very reminiscent of the end of the Billick era. Harbs looks burned out and the team isn't responding to his message as much as it used to. And now his credibility with the fans and the media is in question. Don't get me wrong...Harbaugh has been an outstanding coach for the majority of his tenure and even though he was always weak on x's and o's he was able to get his team psyched to play with intensity. I think that started to decline last season and is going downhill faster now. Bisciotti has an awful lot to think about. By the way...the extension of the lease for 15-25 years was a really good thing done by Bisciotti and the MSA. Kudos to them for ensuring our team will be with us for the long, long haul.
  9. Either Jackson was hurt a lot more than first thought or Harbaugh has been playing the 'will he or won't he' game with the media for 4 weeks now or Lamar is running out the clock on his rookie contract. I don't know which it is but I believe it's time to move on from Lamar, Roman, and, maybe Harbaugh. Unfortunately, we're going to need a tear down with a number of seasons (hopefully a small number) of training a new QB, getting some decent wide receivers and installing a new system. Or maybe I should say an 'old' system with a pocket quarterback. I'm tired of the merry-go-round of the last few years. I think we can do better even if it hurts for a little while.
  10. My sympathy to you, Grubber, on your brother’s passing. No game can compare to that.
  11. That goes double for coaching staffs.
  12. I think Lamar has hung it up for the rest of the regular season. Maybe even the rest of the year. This is a game Huntley can win if JK and Gus stay healthy. But I see no chance of us beating Cincy with Huntley the following week.
  13. Smith has everything you want in a football player, leadership, tremendous ability level that he plays up to, brains and is physical to boot. If we can sign him, it'll be a feather in Eric's cap for sure.
  14. This is reasonable and sensible. I am in full agreement with you.
  15. I'm with you but, PLEASE, lets move on from Greg Roman after the season!
  16. I think the Bengals are playing the Pats so if the Ravens and Bengals both win we're both in. I'd really like to see Anthony Brown play some before the end of the season just to see what he's got to offer.
  17. Well...the good news is the Jets lost to the Jags. I think if we and the Bengals win tomorrow we're in. Is that right?
  18. Shit...let's start our QB3 and see how he does. The guys in front of him aren't healthy.
  19. After I vomited I saw the logic behind this in a twisted sort of way. There are no receivers available who could help us with 3 games left to play so they bring in a big-name has-been. Might sell a few more tickets???
  20. That's all true, Max, but I still say Roman has to go. Even when he had talent (e.g., a healthy Andrews and Bateman) Roman's calls stunk. He is, and always has been a good running offense coordinator. He is and always has been a poor passing production coach. Just look at his history in SFO and Buffalo and now us. Roman would probably be a good college HC in a a Woody Hayes era.
  21. I think Lamar has lost a step in his quickness. Now is that due to an accumulation of injuries or him buffing up too much last off season?
  22. I'm thinking the current coaching staff has no idea what to do about the passing game. Every week I hear 'we'll get it fixed' and we never do. Everybody has to take some accountability for this continuing weak spot: the offensive coaching staff, head coach, and GM have left the team behind a huge eight ball when they can't effectively mix SOME good passing plays in with an admittedly superb run game. Not time to panic now but after the season, as I have said ad nauseum, Roman and his system must go.
  23. Dumb pass patterns combined with a lack of good wide receivers killed us.
  24. I'd give him a B+ if they sign Smith. Otherwise a C.
