It'll be all that for sure. Major change is underway and the interesting thing is that change is coming from the bottom up. Our political 'leaders' have been co-opted because nothing has changed as a result of political will for several decades now. Hang on...the ride might be bumpy at times but it will be thrilling; and history making.

Beautifully written. You've captured what I've wanted to say but haven't been able to be so eloquent. I grew up in the 50's and 60's. As bad as racism is today it was even more horrid and common back then. I am ashamed of things I said, saw, and felt back then. I too am trying to evolve though it's late in life for me now there is always room for growth and truth. It's a bitter pill to swallow but while we have made progress on overt racism in this country I believe it exists still very deeply when whites are alone together in many cases. There's been progress but I often think of how difficult in must be in this country to grow up black. The covert racism (that which exists in the mind) is just about as bad as it was when I was a child. You don't see as much overt racism because most of it goes on behind closed doors or walls. Now we need to do more to cleanse our minds.

I'm really hoping we do have football but it's just too soon to know. Some areas of the country are improving but that was due to the big hunker-in. Now that some places are relaxing restrictions we should know soon if that is going to boomerang. Games in empty stadiums is a real possibility. And if a team is quarantined what happens to their scheduled games? The NFL still has a lot of thinking to do. And if there is a rebound in the fall do you just terminate the season that was underway? Questions abound but answers are too hard to come by yet.

With the situation like it is, Max, you had no other reasonable choice. I am high risk also so I know how you feel, I think. But as one who has been retired for a number of years now and who also took an early retirement with a reduced pension, you may find retirement is a lot better than you may think it will be. I also found I needed less money to spend than when I was working. So God bless you and yours.

Another thing I've read is that both receivers the Ravens drafted have good hands. Man, there's nothing more frustrating to me as a fan than drops when open.

I have to disagree Max. If they had maintained the restrictions for just another 4 weeks, we may have taken a big bite out of the virus at least until the autumn wave arrives. Now we're all vulnerable.
