RG is just happy to be getting paid again.

Should the Ravens keep 2 or 3 qbs on the roster this year?
-
Yep, the ‘value’ pick can be overdone. As much as I like Hayden Hurst I would have felt that Moore, Ridley, or a bit later, Washington would have been a bigger impact thing. Gotta be honest though, I think the Ravens picked several guys with real potential. I just hope we can coach them up.

...and then there's the inevitable injuries...

How fast is the (Lamar Jackson) clock ticking for Joe Flacco?
oldno82 replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
If Joe has a good season and the Ravens reach the playoffs there won't be any changes in 2019. There will be some after that one way or the other. -
Based on the Ravens past history, they’ll keep the 2 draftees. And with this group I agree with that.

RAVENS AWARDED ANOTHER ROOKIE, AND HE'S FROM GERMANY
oldno82 replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Seems to have serious potential. Hope he's a quick learner no matter what position they put him in. -
Look, things were really looking bad before the draft...now there's a feeling of looking forward to the new season regardless of how it pans out because things will be really interesting. Hopefully, Lamar gets to play some in the Hall of Fame game.

Thanks for showing me those scores and your reasoning regarding the test. I hope he pans out. The most important thing will be keeping him healthy while he's learning what to do in the NFL. In fact, I'm more concerned about another injury epidemic this year. Somehow, some way the team needs to keep our players healthy. The last 3 years have been ridiculously high in injuries. We need a lot of our draftees to make this team so we can have some depth.

Right now I give it a C+ with B+ potential. I love the Andrews pick because he’s deadly in the slot and a big guy. I really see him more a big wideout who can catch. The thing I like most about Hurst is that he caught 46 passes last year and had NO drops! How refreshing for a Ravens receiver. The Lamar Jackson pick generates both excitement and fear. He’s definitely a playmaker but he only scored 13 on the Wonderlic test. No other drafted qb scored below 20! Like the Scott pickup because like Boldin he can catch and fight for the ball. Don’t know about Lasley...lots of drops makes me think he will be a bust. Center pickup was decent.

Max Williams downfall was his injury. He looked like a winner when he was drafted and had a decent first year---when he was utilized.

I feel like the Ravens future is disintegrating before my very eyes
oldno82 replied to Tornado700's topic in Baltimore Ravens
We really won't know anything until these guys start playing. There's no doubt they've excited the fan base at least initially. FWIW the sports media has shown the Ravens' draft a lot of love. -

I'm with you Max. This was a deep draft but not a wide one. I don't have any qualms about what they've done. There were a lot of holes to fill on this team and they've made some progress. Still need a lot more though and that's why the emphasis has been on getting more picks. -
After doing some more reading about Lamar, it's clear he wants to pass first unless it's a designed running play. Hey, guys, if nothing else, there's now a lot to look forward to this season. Hopefully, it all pans out.
-
I would trade up and grab one of those guys. Skura will get a chance at C. RT is an unknown...Hurst as we all know has been erratic. They gave him a sizeable contract . They think he can play. I have my doubts. We'll find out about both him and Skura in '18.
-
Whatever else Jackson is he is a PLAYMAKER which we needed. It was a gutsy call, one I wouldn't have made but I hope as sure as shit he does pan out and make the 31 teams who passed on him look like fools. And I think all of us, or nearly all, feel the same way.
-
Well that move just blew me away. I don't know what to make of it. I've never been a fan of running quarterbacks because they almost invariably wind up getting hurt and then not panning out. I guess time will tell but the Ravens are getting a lot of love for the first round they had. I'm still stunned.
-
He was my number one choice for a TE. I’m happy.
-
Theyre playing it smart I think depending who they pick at 25. Youve still got Ridley, Moore, Hurst, and Gesicki to pick from. Or, Lamar (I hope not) Jackson. I dont want a running Quarterback. I like the trades back for this draft.
-
Mayfield will be long gone by the 16th pick. Sutton and Price are good ones.
-
Interesting that you both like Ridley over Moore. I was torn between the two but I thought Moore might be the tougher guy. Believe me, if we came away with Ridley and Gesicki I'd be very happy. Anybody else out there in the Extreme Ravens Land who has any thoughts??
-
Hey guys, just wondering what three players you'd love to see the Ravens have drafted after this week. Be realistic, we're not going to get a top 6 quarterback. I'll take my shot now: 1) DJ Moore 2) Hayden Hurst 3) Kyle Lauletta or Mike White. Those aren't in any particular order by round but I'd be a happy camper with them.

If Snead can stay healthy he might give us an increase in YAC when Joe has to check down. It seems to me that many other teams check down as often as we do, it’s just that they have these quicker receivers to turn short yardage into first downs,
-
I'll add one more thing this group of receivers has to do: stay healthy, dammit!
