  1. Lamar took a step back today. 3 fumbles. One for a TD. Today the Ravens won because of a great defensive effort. 17 runs/21 passes. He has to develop as a passer or there's no hope for him to be a franchise QB. Physically, a QB can't run this much and survive a 16+ game season.
  2. In case you need your nerves ramped up a little bit.
  3. the ravens D held the saints to 24 points and the Steelers to 23. We have a shot tomorrow. I wonder if the Ravens players are at the stadium watching Alabama/Georgia.
  4. Nail biter for sure. This is another "must win" game in a string of "must win" games. Can a rookie QB stand up to that? Lamar has shown improvement from his first start to second. That trend has to continue to keep the playoff hopes alive. New challenges await as he will be on the road and the Falcons have some tape on him. If the Ravens win, then they could pick up some ground on the other teams in the hunt for the 6th wild card start. If the Steelers lose....one game back for the division. Anything can happen. It will be a real exciting Sunday.
  5. I can understand anybody who is in denial about this. I don't want to believe it. https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/26-disaster-scenarios-caused-by-climate-change/ss-BBPL9mT?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=U508DHP
  6. Clifton's on board.... BTW....Clifton knows his shit. Time to feast!
  7. Today I'm all in on Lamar starting in Atlanta. He gives the Ravens the best chance to win this week. Right now Harbaugh knows who he's starting. He has to. Only one guy can get first team reps this week and the winning game plan has to be ready for tomorrows practice. Now...I reserve the right to waffle like a spinless wimp.. ....got to take this week to week because Lamar is a rookie and a ton is at stake. This is no knock on Lamar. I'm talking about rookie QB's in general. Can they avoid the costly turnovers while they develop? Few do. The Ravens can't afford that right now. It's win or you're out. Yet, I'm all in on Lamar this week.
  8. Papa you are not making sense. I feel so lucky to have lived to see 2 Super Bowl Champions in Baltimore. I don't care what the cost was. And the cost has been high. The NFL has been raiding our coaching staff, scouts and players for 17 years and the Ravens are paying dues for that. It is so rare for most NFL fans to see their teams do this and some never have. It's easy to go decades as a fan and not see your favorite team sniff it. Winning a Super Bowl is a good thing. Winning a Super Bowl is a good thing. Winning a Super Bowl is a good thing. Winning a Super Bowl is a good thing. Winning a Super Bowl is a good thing. Winning a Super Bowl is a good thing.
  9. Eisenberg is leaning the way that I'm heading....
  10. They would have to run the table.
  11. Preston makes the case for Joe.... https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-joey-flacco-20181105-story.html It looks like Joe saw the doctors yesterday and was cleared to play. In Preston's scenario, he thinks the Ravens will have a running game but that was not the case with Joe at QB. Will that change so suddenly? And which Joe shows up? The Joe of the first 4 games or his last 4?
  12. We have a legit QB controversy going on here in Baltimore. Definitely among the fan base. And I think in the Castle too. Today when asked about who will start, Harbaugh said, "We'll play whoever gives us the best chance to win." and then he added this surprising piece, "Everything is on the table." No ringing endorsement for Joe. Instead, "We'll play whoever gives us the best chance to win." "Everything is on the table." We have arrived at the turning point because a lot is at stake and if Lamar starts that means they have seen enough to believe and trust in him. And on the flip side it says "We're thinking and scratching our heads about you Joe and we have our doubts." I've been back and forth on this depending on reports and Lamar's performance. Here's where I'm at today. Lamar got better in his second start. He's a rookie and will make rookie mistakes, but he did not look timid, scared or that this game is too big for him. He took command. What really intrigues me is the play that didn't count. That perfectly thrown deep pass to Brown. Joe doesn't throw them that good anymore. Lamar's got a deep ball that can stretch the field. Holy Shit! We really don't know enough about what Lamar can do. Intrigue #2. Maybe a "ground and pound" ball control offense is exactly what can defeat the Falcons, Chiefs and Chargers. Keep those offenses off the field. Give the D time to rest and regroup. We played Joe and that offensive scheme against 3 good teams in the Saints, Panthers and Steelers and lost all 3. Maybe a different scheme, ground and pound, will bring different results. Here's how I read it today: Lamar will be the starter in Atlanta. If he plays well and the Ravens win, then it will be his job to lose.
  13. I doubt he hits the FA market unless he is hurting financially.....or wants to build on his Hall of Fame resume. 2 more sacks and he'll pass Lawrence Taylor. He knows this is his last season. The signs are all over the place. Once your playing time is reduced so that you can make it through the season, the writing is on the wall. Age, lower production, many injuries and he's got his Super Bowl ring....what else is there left to accomplish?
  14. Here's a sobering comment from Preston and there is a lot of truth to it. Yes. We have seen this before. Nevertheless is was a fun game to watch and a good time at the game Sunday. Now comes the big test. The Steelers lost, Bengals lost and the Ravens are on to Atlanta where they have a chance to win against better competition.
  15. The offense only scored 20 points and that won't get you far in the NFL. Not with the Falcons, Chiefs and Chargers coming up. They need Joe.
  16. The best throw was to Brown even though that was called back. He dropped it in perfectly. He's got a deep ball arm. 2 games and I can see him developing from one game to the next and figuring it out. He ran out of bounds to avoid getting hit when he could have got more yards going for the collision. There's a lot more for him to get down like timing passes.
  17. I don't want to see a major rebuild. Look at Oakland. That's what they are going through with no signs that it will work. It would be too hard going to the stadium Sunday's. Instead, simply cut and replace the ageing vets and dead wood.
  18. Yes they did. That's a good haul.
  19. On the road? I think the Ravens have a decent chance to beat the Falcons. I see losses to the Chiefs and Chargers. I don't want to over look the Browns and Raiders because the Ravens could easily loose those games if they fail to show up, fail to play fundamentally sound football and fail to avoid turning the ball over. I think turnovers will be critical for this final stretch run. The D has to generate them and the offense has to avoid them. Lamar's a rookie with pressure on him to throw the ball and we don't know how this will turn out. 9-7. Will that be enough to get in?
  20. It is our fault. Yet I'm not thinking we are done. Reading between the lines I see some signs of hope in the efforts below....yet these are merely band aids at the moment... If serious action and change begins now, then we could come through OK by developing the technologies that will get this planet Green. Other nations would buy from us. Currently we are on track to be buying from them in the future which will be another huge economic drain piled on top of the others. There's a ton of money to be made in that science and technology. There is a blooming Green industry going right now in this country and all it needs is governmental policies to change. It needs a SHIFT in the way we think and respond. A shift and commitment to leave fossil fuels behind forever. The next generation would not have to worry about employment. The impact of these Earth Changes would be less severe. We need to mobilize as if we are going to War.
  21. The clock keeps ticking and the tipping point keeps getting closer with each scientific study and report that is released. Life as we knew it is already visibly shifting. The signs are everywhere and yet we, as a Nation, keep brushing this aside and choose to live in denial.I'm at fault as much as everybody. At the most critical time in our Nations history we have the worst President and political leadership. Massive changes have to happen to the Congress of the United States....NOW. Get rid of everybody who is in the way. Through our failure to act now, our children and their children are on a certain course for serious, long term mass suffering. If you can't visualize what this is then simple google photos of life in Bangladesh or photos of African women clutching the emaciated bodies of their children while trying to drink water out of a mud puddle. It is heading in to this certain destiny if we keep sitting on our asses. We really are facing Life or Death. This will not politely go away and allow us to get back to what we do best which is destroy the limited natural resources on this planet to "live the good life." Here's the report. It would be prudent and beneficial to read it. https://nca2018.globalchange.gov/ There is still a small window of time left to lessen the oncoming impact of global warming. Not all is lost....yet. The clock is ticking and it's getting louder and louder.
  22. Now...for the Dreamers...throw me in there.....if the RPO is the future of this league, then Lamar will lead the best RPO offense ever.
  23. Today, I think Lamar will only last a few games running at this pace. Even 50% of what he ran is too much. Then comes the surgeries ect. Unless he can be a proven effective passer, he's a wasted draft pick. The team will always need a very good back up QB for when he goes down. That says he's not a franchise QB. Yes... I really loved watching him yesterday. Put a run limit on him and once he goes past that, put RGG3 in. They have to get Joe back asap so Lamar can learn and develop into a Mike Vick run/pass ratio....like maybe 5 times a game.
