I like Andy. Andy is a very good HC....yet......Andy looks good right now because of Mahomes. Any HC would look like a genius. He's been a HC a hell of a lot longer than John who has more playoff wins and a Super Bowl trophy. If he's so smart then why didn't he use a time out for his D at the goal line? They were gassed and Burkhead simply walked in. TD wins it. FG and they are still alive.

4 years and that makes sense for both parties. Bichiotti doesn't get into a Billick situation. John is now one very experienced HC after all that he's been through. You can't put a price tag on that. Steve gets to see if Eric and John can pull off this rebuild and lead this new roster to the Promised Land. If that doesn't happen in 3 years, then he can try another tactic. John gets security and to keep his family in one place. He's happy here and committed to the Ravens organization. The players win. They believe in Harbaugh. The fans win too. 587 HC's have come and gone since John came here. We could have been on that carousel. Now...he's got to win. The 2019 Ravens have to be better than the 2018 team.

"What do you mean by karmic payback for Bounty gate?"

What do you think Jaimison?

Update. They had to get this ironed out quickly as John needs to hire more coaches. Having an extension will help with that. Everybody wants some job security....except those who hate their jobs.

The latest from Mike....

What do you think Mike?

geeee...that's a shame...

This is what has to get fixed this off season and during OTA's and Camp. #1 priority for the next 8 months. Then the Ravens are in business.

We all know Marty and have screamed for his head. Let's give him some props too....
-
And he doesn't have Andrew Luck as his QB. They just have to get this closer to a 50/50 run pass ratio.Get a 25-30% improvement in the passing game as far as completions. The yardage will spike up as Lamar improves.

9 Ravens who could be potential salary cap casualties

Moseley says he's 100% certain that he'll be back. -
Flacco, Smith, Yanda, Crabtree, Levine, Weddle, Carr, Snead and Koch....Here's the list of cap numbers and reason why: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/9-ravens-who-could-be-potential-salary-cap-casualties-this-offseason/ar-BBS0xpq?ocid=U508DHP This article makes a good case for letting them all go. I don't know about Vedvik replacing Koch.

Stop it. At 4-5 this team could have quit. Instead they went all out and banded together. The fact that there are players saying they don't want to leave, love it here and hope they are back next year speaks volumes to how much the players believe in John....and Lamar. Players don't want to play for shitty coaches.

The play calling failed. With everybody selling out and crashing in like that, there had to be 41 ways to burn them.

For ages the Ravens have lined up and telegraphed whether they were going to run or pass. They relied on winning the one on one battles and match ups. They tried to throw in the first half but Lamar ended the half with a 0.0 QB rating. The pass wasn't working because of his inaccuracy. The Chargers out executed the Ravens. They played faster with extra men in the box and dared Lamar to beat them with his arm. He couldn't.
-
I think the fans were booing the overall horrid offensive performance. Joe couldn't do anything more behind that sieve of an O line.
-
The line play was really bad. QB too.
-
The Chargers had an answer for the RPO and the Ravens couldn't counter it. It takes too long to set up the pass out of that formation. The O line was slow at the point of attack and did a poor job in pass protection. Factor in that Lamar was inaccurate in the first 3 quarters and you have a horror story. Receivers were open and he couldn't find them. The formula for beating the Ravens in the future is to stop the run and force Lamar to beat you with his arm. Sell out on the run like the Chargers did. The only ray of sunshine was the final 10 minutes when the Ravens had to abandon the run. The Ravens have to build on that.
-
At half time I didn't want to look at the stats...but I did... Lamar had a 0 QB rating. With 10 minutes left the Ravens offense had 74 total yards....24 rushing yards... ....you can't make this shit up. Only the Ravens come up with some new level of futility. The comeback was fun. During that final defensive stop, the crowd was yelling out of their minds. We were united. It felt good. From my vantage point, on the final offensive play, Lamar had 2 receivers running stride for stride down the seam toward the end zone and Lamar was trying to throw the ball there. They were open. Either one catches it and they score. It looked that close, yet credit the Chargers....Nwosu made the big play to seal the win.

We're good. Jerry Coleman picked the Chargers. https://www.baltimoreravens.com/video/schrager-100-percent-guarantee-that-ravens-fans-bring-it-sunday-old

Let's take a look at this.... What you are about to read is ordinary, average, middling, middle-of-the-road, uninspired, undistinguished, indifferent, unexceptional, unexciting, unremarkable, run-of-the-mill, pedestrian, prosaic, lackluster, forgettable, amateur, amateurish;.... This list does not include this season. Since his 2008 Baltimore arrival, the Ravens have posted the NFL’s fourth-most total victories (104). The Ravens are one of only eight teams (NE – 9; GB – 8; Pit. – 7; Atl., Bal., Cin., Ind. & Sea. – 6) to earn at least six postseason berths in the last 10 years. (Baltimore has won at least one game in each of those playoff campaigns.) The Ravens’ 10 playoff wins since 2008 rank as the NFL’s second most (New England, 13). Of those Ravens’ victories, an NFL-best seven have come on the road. Harbaugh ties (Bill Belichick, Andy Reid, George Seifert & Bill Walsh) for the third-most postseason victories in a coach’s first 10 seasons. (Joe Gibbs is first with 12, followed by Chuck Noll with 11.) The 2012 Ravens won Super Bowl XLVII, 34-31, over the San Francisco 49ers in one of the most dramatic games in NFL history. Baltimore jumped to a 28-6 lead, but needed a critical goal-line stand late in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory. The Ravens overcame a furious second-half comeback and a 34-minute power outage at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans to clinch the franchise’s second World Championship. Under Harbaugh’s guidance, the Ravens have appeared in three AFC Championship games (2008, 2011, 2012) and have won at least one playoff game during each of their six postseasons with him as head coach. Harbaugh has led the Ravens to 94 regular season wins since 2008, rankings as the NFL’s sixth most. Harbaugh, Tom Landry (Dallas) and Tom Coughlin (Jaguars/Giants) own the most road playoff wins (7) by a head coach in NFL history. \ Harbaugh is the only head coach in NFL history (since 1970 merger) to win a playoff game in each of his first four and five seasons. He is also the only head coach in NFL history to win a playoff game six of the first seven seasons of a coaching career. John and his younger brother, Jim (2011, 2012 and 2013), the former 49ers’ head coach, are the only NFL head coaches to reach three conference championships in the first five seasons of a coaching career. With Harbaugh, the Ravens have a 59-21 mark at M&T Bank Stadium over the past 10 seasons, ranking as the NFL’s third-best home record (.738) during that span (2008-17). So....if Harbaugh is ordinary, average, middling, middle-of-the-road, uninspired, undistinguished, indifferent, unexceptional, unexciting, unremarkable, run-of-the-mill, pedestrian, prosaic, lackluster, forgettable, amateur, amateurish; informalOK, so-so, ‘comme ci, comme ça’, plain-vanilla, fair-to-middling, no great shakes, not up to much, bush-league "a mediocre performance" .........than what about the rest of the HC's? Maybe they're like this guy.... or this guy....
