Come on Down! Nice article... Let's have a nice round of applause!

Most games are won on a few (1-4) game changing plays. This was obviously the turning point in this game. Credit Manning and Denver for hurrying to the line of scrimmage before the Ravens could challenge. Credit Denver for blocking the punt. They made the play and took command. Your head has to be in the game every second. The Ravens players and coaching staffs minds were elsewhere.

You mean: Where's Devard Darling?

The good from Thursday and what we need to work on.
vmax replied to thundercleetz's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Nice analysis cleetz. Let me add that I believe Denver will have a very good running game this year and the Ravens front 7 stopped them cold....without Williams and Jones to rotate in and spell the guys. The Ravens need to get back to a better balanced run/pass ratio. It's a losing formula to throw that much...even 2/3rds that much. The penalty situation can be improved and must be. Unnecessary roughness flags must be eliminated. That's stupid and selfish. The coaching staff has to clamp down and enforce this. After a game where the Ravens spent much of their time beating themselves, they have to whittle down the areas where they do this. I saw the same "better/elevated" performance for Jones as a receiver. He is going to be sorely missed. Pierce and Webb should not be return guys. Dickson speed and ability to get open is impressive and a mismatch for most teams. His ability to catch the ball is a bucket of ice down your pants. when he's not practicing get him on a jugs machine and have Taylor throwing passes to him for and hour every day. I think Clarks just trying to get a paycheck. Cut him. Absolutely Elam must start. The Ravens have no enforcer on the back end. As much as we criticized Reed for his tackling at least he brought his man down. When a safety misses a tackle it's a touchdown. I'm willing to go through the growing pains with Elam. The Ravens ran more plays and won time of possession despite all the hoopla of Denver's hurry up offense that is designed to create more plays. Very solid first game for Gradkowsky. He was downfield blocking LB's and safety's on the running plays. His athleticism along with Yanda's is something they can build on. Aren't you glad they brought Leach bask? -
It's bad when Doss is needed. I'm against bringing in anybody off the street. After watching Stokely and Clark, I don't need to see more old slow guys at a position that most definitely needs speed and athleticism. Yea...they need Thompson bad.
-
The Ravens just lost more playmaking ability and more swagger. Jones was looking good Thursday night. He had 3 catches for 24 yards and Joe was getting it going with him.
-
Wow...the Ravens ran 87 plays to Denver's 68 and won the time of possession 34 minutes to 26...and got murdered...
-
It wasn't too bad if you were on a morphine drip. Stokely is too slow so he can't be used unless you want the ball intercepted. Clark is too slow and has shit for hands. Can't depend on him. Dickson does a great job getting open but Joe might as well throw at his feet because he can't catch anything. All 3 are drive killers. Running game was very disappointing on a night where it was needed. The lack of discipline was rampant. From missed assignments to stupid selfish penalties by Smith and McClellan. Harbaugh has to get this under control. Not good to lead the league in penalty yards 2 years in a row. This could be real bad losing Jones and Oher. There is nobody who can hold down the fort at RT and nobody who is a threat returning kicks. Bad showing by Special Teams. That is 1/3rd of the winning formula. Huff = Soft. I saw it but it's hard to admit it...7 TD passes ...7! Most since Kapp did it to the Baltimore Colts in '69. The Broncos were a step faster all night. On offense, defense and special teams. All that being said...Way too early to panic.

Festivities? Everybody I talked to thinks it's a joke or worse The feeling at work was just like last year....hell, it's like Purple Friday everywhere. Everybody's wearing purple and is excited. I've got to give a shout out to all the women. They are smack talking better than the men. I think it's great. Coming to Denver tonight....

This Foxsports writer predicts the same score that I did.

5 minutes with Canty, Dumervil and Huff....they're hungry and excited. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/New_Era_Same_Ravens_Defensive_Standard/44e4df1c-1bf9-4b68-89bc-47d3f07036a6 They want to keep the Legacy going.

True. If he misses it doesn't matter.

OUCH! From Russ Dinn...

Well...until now they had no kicker...brilliant move... Browns new Motto: Do Not Plan for the Future because We have None!
-
I can't predict this. I have no idea of what this Ravens team will look like and do. None. Just wild guesses. But...because everybody else is playing along, I'll go Ravens 27 Broncos 23.
-
I think it was a TV blackout towards the end....not the stadium. Hi rm52!
-
As long as the Ravens don't spot them 2 special teams touchdowns they'll be fine. It's not Mannings arm that I'm worried about. It's Denver's running game. They have to establish the run or the Ravens pass rush will engulf Manning.
-
I am not saying it was the NFL!

That was an excellent video. Really good. I feel like last season is put to rest and I'm moving on ready for 2013.
-
We have not seen the 2013 Ravens offense or defense. I have no idea what it will look like and this is a huge part of the excitement...and anxiety... ...that I'm feeling heading towards Thursday night. I know this much...there are a ton of defensive packages and we saw maybe...3???? I hope they can pressure Manning with just the front 4. That will allow for better coverage. Manning will have to dink and dunk because he will not have time to go long. The Ravens faster linebackers and nickel packages should help. "Sorry Peyton. You'll have to wait until I retire to hear how to win in the playoffs."

I real glad Omar Brown made it. This guy Grey sounds like a solid RB back up option. The players signed to the practice squad were: RB Jonas Grey Notre Dame S Omar Brown Marshall ILB Brandon Copeland Pennsylvania WR Gerrard Sheppard Towson DT Cody Larsen Southern Utah C Reggie Stephens Iowa State OT Joe Unga Midwestern State TE Matt Furstenburg Maryland

That's a nice quote dc. Let's act on global warming. That is going to kill...well...maybe everybody.
