  1. I think so too. I'm one of those fans who enjoys the game more by being there and watching it live. I just see more and get a whole lot more enjoyment out of it than a tv set gives me. I make good money, but even for me the cost is getting prohibitive. I actually woke up this morning thinking about the cost of playoff tickets because that money will be due soon...along with Christmas money ect. My childern come first, The quality of their life comes first and at some point I can see that I will have to sell my PSL's because I'm getting gouged out. If it wasn't for parity, then most stadiums would not sell out. I could not enjoy any games if the Ravens were perinal stinkers and under performers. I'd feel like a sucker to financially support that. This is exactly why I stopped my Orioles 16 game package 10 years ago. I'm not paying to make guys millionaires who can't even play. I haven't been back to one game since and I used to go to 20 games at least every year since I was in grade school. The truth that every fan knows is that we are being stuck up and robbed to go to games. It's an insult to look at the price of NFL merchandise and concessions. We are being shaken for every nickle and penny we have while the league, owners and players are trying to find more ways to get more out of us. I do feel used. Now is probably the best time to cash out on your PSL's because their value will rapidly drop if this economy takes another nose dive. I've been thinking about it. This is comming from a rabbid fan so take heed of the warning signs NFL. Does anybody miss the NBA or care if it ever starts back up? Not me. The same goes for MLB which I loved for most of my life. I can live without it. Push me some more and you will see.
  2. The Lions worked so hard to gain some respect and it's amaxing how 1 guy can wreck that....fast too. The Lions have to stop it. They need to discipline him on top of the leagues discipline to make a statement that they will not tolerate this kind of behavior. The whole organizations public image is at stake and at the moment it's out of control. He may believe his own lie and need professional help. I don't think this is the end of the story. If left untreated these outbursts will manifest at different points in time in all areas of his life. People like this need help or they will continue to hurt themselves and others....and it could escalate. Just a guess, but we've all heard about "the switch". Players work themselves up to a "controled rage" gameday but turn it off after the game. They are able to do that as professionals. They can differentiate between this being a game and reality. They can play within the rules with an intense fire and passion. Some can't. I think Suh is one of those who can't and maybe he shouldn't be playing this game at all. The Lions need to get this guy help. He needs evaluation and treatment.
  3. And I'm in!
  4. That was teriffic OTR! Thanks There is definately something special about this team...all the coaches and players.
  5. Thery had a yard to go. You don't run East/West with as fast as the 49er front 7 is. That's beyond stupid. You pound it straight ahead with your biggest, meanest battering rams. Even more idiotic is thinking Joe can run 7 yards up the gut on that D. They were closing running lanes in instants during the game....how many 7+ yard runs did the Ravens have all day? So they think Joe and his quick feet will trick them?
  6. colin.... I can't spell...7 years of college just wasn't enough. 8-3! I was worried about the last 5 days. Losses to the Bengals and 49ers would have put the Ravens in a huge hole at 6-5. Even 1 loss would have done serious damage to home field advantage hopes. Instead this team responded with 2 very good efforts. The 12th man was terrific and the Ravens appear unbeatable at home. If teams have to come through here it'll be season enders for them. Joe wasn't sacked once. Great effort by the O line. They have been getting better each week. That's another good sign heading into December because it's all about hitting the playoffs in full stride and on a roll. Thoughts about Ray Lewis's absence? The Ravens just beat 2 very good teams without him.
  7. Some quick game thoughts before I crash and get up at 4:30 for work: McClain and McClenen got the job done. McClain in particular...he showed up and filled Rays shoes for 60 minutes. Very Impressed. Gore was held to 14 carries for 39 yards for 2.8 ypc. That was the key to the game. Cory Redding played like his hair was on fire. What can you say about Webb?! He's damn good. Great game. 9 sacks ...Smith had only been sacked 10 times all season. The D was on fire...175 yards...that is damn good. The Ravens running game wasn't there (92 yards for 2.6ypc) but good things happened because they stuck with it. 35 rushes to 23 passes. It controlled clock, gave the D rest, kept the wolves off of Joe because they had to respect the run...it helped prevet the costly turnover. What I saw when the offense lined up: Weapons everywhere in Bouldin, Evens, Smith, Pita, Dixon and Rice....that's too much for any defense to account for...so it all comes down to the play of the offensive line. If they keep getting better the sky is the limit. They have to be allowed to run block and then they can pass protect. They need to dish out punishment to slow their opponent down.
  8. Happy Thanksgiving Everybody! I'm cooking today....poor kids. Then I'll be at the game tonight with my 17 year old son. What a great match up and so much is at stake. Feels like a playoff game to me. Screw work...I'm not leaving my seat untill the final gun. 3 hours of sleep and coffee will have to do for tomorrow. Love your family today and take a few moments to list all you have to be gratefull and thankfull for.
  9. This game has a playoff game feel to it. Thanksgiving night, national TV, 2 brothers as HC's going at it, 2 playoff contenders, amazing 49'ers turnaround story,... solid, physical defenses and two 7th ranked scoring offenses. Both teams will come out totally fired up and it should be a 60 minute snot knocker. Do the Ravens stay in 1st place in the North or drop to 3rd? A lot is at stake. Stopping Frank Gore will be the key to the day for the Ravens and that is one huge challenge. The Ravens have let 2 RB's run all over them in 2 of their losses. The 49'ers don't let anybody run on them. They have a very solid front 4 so Ray Rice and the O line have their biggest test of the 2011 season in front of them. It could end up a low scoring affair and come down to field goals... both kickers are good, but ther 49'ers kicker is soild on 50+ yarders.
  10. Wow...Jeff Garcia tried out...now that's a blast from the past!
  11. Thanks to Torry Smith and Ray Rice. The play action had to be respected and nobody can cover Smith.
  12. Torry's 20.3 ypc leads the division...he's ahead of Wallace (17.4) and Green (15.5)... http://espn.go.com/b...young-receivers
  13. I don't know who Jimmy Fasllon is but he showed class eating pie.
  14. Maybe it the style of offense and playbook language. These guys have to start right away so maybe Clemmins is more ready for the Texans. Both are losers anyway. What I don't get it all this talk about how the Bears should be ok without Cutler.
  15. Is it getting better?
  16. "How about ranking the Steelers higher than the Ravens because they couldn't beat good teams but the Ravens could... but since the Steelers can beat bad teams...then put them ahead of the Ravens."
  17. I'd rather have Billick say stuff like this and not be considered a Homer than those 2 ass sucking X Steelers Cower and Bradshaw. They go out of their way to put down the Ravens and pump up the Steelers every chance they get.
  18. They .better not try it this week. They need Pollard to help stop Gore and I'd put Smith on their TE...let Webb and Williams play corner. For this season Webb is our best CB. I've heard experts rank him as high as a top 5 CB in the NFL this year. Keep him where he can do the most good this year. Switching even for a few plays could F his head up. The man is intense and fundamentally very sound all around. His sure tackling skills help seal the edge against the run.
  19. Thanks!
  20. Billy...I've read your spelling and typos when you've been drinking. Please suffer through mine.
  21. Torrey Smith! It's safe to say he's no fluke. The Ravens have their stretch the field, playmaking receiver. Finally. I haven't seen a corner or safety who can keep up with him. I don't think Lee Evans will get his job back. He's opening the field for everybody else. If teams don't have LB's who can keep up with the Ravens TE's then it will become a turkey shoot. Bouldin, Rice...everybody benefits.... Well...he has cost Rice about 150 yards and at least 1 TD with two penalties but that's correctable.
  22. It must be the water in Cincinatti...does this sound familiar?
  23. Let's see what this Steeler fan thinks of todays Ravens win...
  24. The 20011 Ravens Winning Identity?.... if they choose to go forward with it. #1. For 15 years I've seen the Ravens win ugly. Good to see it again today because it works. Of course I want to relax and watch a blowout, but Cam is losing winnable games trying to build that model. Let's just gets the wins. #2. Run the ball. A 50/50 run pass ratio is the surest path to victory for the Ravens. They did it today. It keeps the defenses honest. It keeps Joe on his feet and off his ass. It sets up the play action and the deep ball. The O line is built to road grade...let them. Leach is The Punisher. The Humiliator. Let them beat on a D and wear them out. Get Ray 20-25 touches and good things happen...like today. #3. Solid Special Teams. Cundiff and Koch ruled today and they controlled field position. #4. The D wasn't spectacular today but they were fast, furious and passionate. They stopped the run and forced Dalton to beat them with his arm. Dalton who supposedly doesn't rattle, threw 3 crucial INT's and had some other clunkers. Well..it's there...the path to the playoffs and beyond if they don't abandon it. Just stick with it...perfect it...
