If the Raiders would trade him for a 2011 1st-rounder, you have to pull the trigger. The Raiders get their 1st back, but it's guaranteed to be a 29-32 pick. Asomugha is undisputedly one of the top 2 corners in the league... perfect guy to take on Manning, Sanchez, and Brady in the playoffs.

It seems like a lot of people like Pitta more than Dickson... and maybe it says something that we took him despite having just drafted a TE with our last pick. Perhaps there was some disagreement in the war room over which guy we should take in the 3rd? Maybe both guys graded out the same? Kiper had Dickson higher on his big board, but McDouche keeps talking about how much he loves Pitta. If I had to guess, I'd say we didn't feel too strongly either way as to which guy was better, and when we saw Pitta sitting there still, we pulled the trigger on him to hedge our bets. That way, we don't look stupid for taking the wrong one when the other one turns into Jason Witten. I just wish we hedged our bets with corners and receivers too.....

It's too bad AD burned bridges when he left Baltimore... guys like McFadden/Foote return to Pittsburgh, JT returns to Miami... but we can't bring back a guy like AD because he had to get into it with Ray-Ray.

After Kindle gets the first shot on the QB, he'll be throwing jump balls for the rest of the game anyways. And Heaven Forbid if Cody ever lands on someone...

Top organizations turn great draft picks into wins. Poor organizations consistently transform top prospects into on-the-field failures. No matter how well these teams draft (I'm looking at you, Lions and Browns...) they still have to combine it with the winning attitude, the proper strategy, and the solid coaching. Just one more reason why it's great being a Raven's fan... I don't know many other fans who trust their organization as much as we (well, most of us...) do.

They've certainly put themselves in the mix, but don't get me wrong... the entire AFC, including Rex Ryan's squad, is afraid of what we're going to put on the field this year. No matter how many corners they bring in, none of them can tackle Boldin in the open field, they can't double Stallworth and Mason, and no linebacker or safety on any of their squads can match up physically with Heap (or Dickson, or Pitta). Especially with all the time Flacco will have behind our giant o-line, with Rice a threat out of the backfield on every play. Throw in the fact that we're a lock to lead the league in defensive rushing yards surrendered, and we've got arguably the most complete roster in the NFL. Kindle, Suggs, Lewis, JJ, and Barnes getting after the second-year Sanchez? They're gonna wish they didn't release Faneca when Cody is sitting on Sanchise's head. Stay tuned...

It may be the case that we're actually overloaded at WR at the moment, especially since one of our TE's is probably going to split out. I wanted to see us go after Danario, but if this Rodelin Anthony signing is accurate, one 6'5 guy may be all we need in camp. As for the Jets, don't forget Brodney Pool and Jim Leonhard - two big-time playmakers.

We had 32 sacks last year, which ranked 18th in the league, tying the Jets, Giants, Titans and Bills. On the other hand, we had 22 interceptions, which was 5th, tying Carolina. Our 100 pass deflections put us at #8, right behind the Jets' 103. Our problem isn't that we don't have corners on the roster... it's that, by playoff time, we don't have corners on the field. Ray and Ed can help out anyone we put out there for now, but we're going to need to come up with another playmaker in the secondary going forward (like what we had with Webb pre-injury)

The most frustrating/funny thing was trying to explain to some of my football-ignorant friends what a draft was, and why I needed three days off to watch it. Turns out it's an impossible feat... you're either "in the know" or you're not when it comes to draft-importance. Kind've like explaining fantasy football to people who not only haven't played fantasy, but don't even watch sports.

I agree with an "A" grade, but I wish more of these draft-breakdowns would mention Anquan Boldin as part of our draft. Otherwise, we'd either have another 3rd and 4th round pick, a guy like Dan Williams or Kyle Wilson at #25, or would have traded up to get Dez Bryant. I don't see how you give a draft of Boldin, Kindle, Cody, Dickson, Pitta, Reed, another 300-pound DT, and a 6'6 350 lb guard/tackle prospect anything less than an A or A+. That's a ton of weapons on both sides of the ball. And when we sign a free agent corner in the next few weeks, everyone will stop talking about corners as well. But we do need to sign one.
