Seeing that pic of John and Joe shaking hands reminds me of when the camera was on Joe, Cam and John locked in conversation at the end of the game, all with smiles on their faces. I would love to know what the conversation was like.

Webb stepped it up today. He performed poorly in the preseason. The way he hits, I think he is the heir apparent to Reed at FS. He is a decent corner but I think he could be special at safety.

Good article. Pretty much sums up the rivalry. I hate the Steelers but I know beating them makes us a really good team.

I think he has this season and next to run. Same as Flacco. There will be talks I'm sure at the end of this season. But the snails pace that our front office gets these guys signed means 1 of them is destined for the franchise tag.

It's not Ravens football and Cam might do it for the 1st half but if we have a lead going into the half he will revert to Marty ball and let the Steelers back into it. We hardly ever show the killer instinct against teams.

He doesn't like Kruger obviously as he left him out of the pass rush equation. Kruger has been killing it in preseason and it hasn't just been against backups.

That is really going to F up the market price for Ray Rice when his contract is up.

With our O-Line still taking shape I have had this game chalked up as a L for most of preseason. However, as the game approaches I have this nervous excitement brewing in the pit of my stomach that this is the time when we put it all together and get the Steelers monkey off our backs.

If McKinnie works out at LT I really like the look of our O-Line. Birk would be the weakest link at C and that is a long way from where we were a couple of weeks ago. Hell even if Birk doesn't hold up I think Mattison can do enough of a job beside Yanda and Grubbs as long as he doesn't have to block someone 1 on 1 all the time.

Spot on Crav. On the evidence of this preseason Webb's future lies at safety. He has been constantly trailing the receiver and sometimes it looks as though he has been beat by 3 or 4 yards within 10 to 15 yards of the line of scrimmage.

I hope he gets nowhere near what he is seeking. That will help in our own future negotiations with Ray Rice.

And don't forget that David Reed was killing it on kick returns last season before his injury. The more and more I watch, the more and more I see Parmele being cut unless we carry 4 RBs and I don't see us doing that with the need to carry 6 WRs.

You are assuming there was a trade market for him. I took him a while in free agency to find a team willing to take a risk on him, what makes you think there was someone last season that was willing to give up a draft choice for him. Sorry Papa, but a lot of your posts about trade this and that vet away are senseless. This is not Madden. Most teams don't have a stupid AI at their centre where they do stupid trades every offseason. Most teams can't afford to trade away vets because of cap hits. Those vets that get cut at the end of their contracts get picked up as free agents and teams wouldn't trade for them because there is the likelihood they will be released so no need to waste a draft pick.

Great pick up. I feel a lot better about the WR corps now that we have 2 vets in there that have done something in the NFL. We don't have to rely on 2 rookies developing straight away. Now if we can just get this O-Line to jell and start pass blocking better we might have a shot.

I don't think he realises they are in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. If they finish as high as 3rd in the East it will be a surprise.

Ok what picks would we have got and what players could we have taken that would have been their replacements. It is all well and good saying "they could very well" but without some evidence to what they could have got I'm not willing to accept your argument just yet.

Thank god Ozie didn't listen to you then. We had no replacements for either player back then. Could you imagine what our pass rush would have been like without Suggs last year and Heap has been an important target for Joe the last 2-3 years.

Finally someone who understands what the Ravens are trying to achieve. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing these guys develop on the field.

I reckon we only save about 4mill signing Ngata, maybe 5 at tops. He is going to command at least $8mill a year.

I don't know the full ins and outs of the whole thing. I will try and dig up an interesting cap analysis that I saw on another forum somewhere, but August 4th seems to be the magical date for the smart GMs of the league.

I would love to have gotten Aso, but we didn't have the cap room to sign him and fill out the rest of the roster unless Aso was able to come in and play Guard, FB, 2 CB spots at the same time, WR and maybe pass rusher. It was a pipe dream to think we had a shot at Aso.
