I'm sure Gooden's doctor is handy with a pair of scissors but I'm pretty sure joe went to Gooden's barber.

You know the call probably should have been made by the refs but.... the Bills were throwing themselves into the pile to try and get extra yards on the shove. I think the exact same thing happened in the Auburn LSU game and Auburn got like an extra 6 or 7 yards out of the shove even though the initial forward momentum had been stopped. The refs normally give it a couple of seconds before they blow the whistle or when the player starts to get pushed backwards. It was a 50/50 call that went our way and some times it is better to be lucky than good!

The problem with our blitzes when we do blitz is that every blitzer is already on the line of scrimmage apart from when Ray blitzes which appear to be some of our better blitzes. How about keeping these guys off the line of scrimmage and giving them options for which gap to hit? Hitting the hole with a bit of momentum can force the O-Line back on top of the QB which can force hurried throws. We don't have to get to the QB everytime, just make him throw before he is ready or throw off balance. Teams do it to us. This is a copy cat league so copy what works.

The bye week couldn't come at a better time for me. I am off to London to see 2 teams suck it up and give me a reminder of how lucky we are to have the Ravens.
-
This has to be one of the worst tackling performances by a Ravens D.

HHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have to get in the WRs faces. These short throws are picking up 5 or 6 yards minimum per pop.

I will take the blame for that one after I gave Cundiff a compliment on his previous kick offs. That was like a comentators curse right there.
-
I would settle for 3 and another 8 minutes off the clock.
-
Cundiff is on fire. He has been a pleasant surprise so far. I had forgotten what touch backs looked like for the Ravens until this season.

You could see Kelly Gregg running off the field waving his arms for the offense to get on the field and snap the ball. He knew Hernandez was down as well.

What is the mystery? Mike Brown can be a cheap b*****d at times and he doesn't want to pay 2 Head coaches at the same time and he certainly doesn't want to pay Marvin to sit at home on his ass. I bet that when they released Bryant and that guaranteed money Mike had a fit.

I can't say I noticed that the Fakes were open all day long dc but I did notice the coverage on the first pass to Housh. My wife was watching with me and I was explaining to her the route that Housh just ran was an out to get out of bounds and stop the clock. The CB was in deep coverage but he moved on the ball very quickly. There was no help over the top because the CB was so deep and I told her the Ravens might try the out and up while drawing an imaginary route so she knew what I was talking about. She gave me a look after Joe threw the TD like how the hell did I know that was coming. So I can't say that play was there all day but it was definitely there at the end with the coverage the Steelers were playing. I also thought we started to pick up the blitzes quite well but there was still too many times that the Steelers were on a 5 yard sprint to the line before the ball was snapped and timed it just right. I still think we need to get to the line quicker in the those cases so that we can use the hard count more often. I also had to agree with Simms in that we need to get Joe into Shotgun more often when he is passing and then run Rice off the draw out of that formation.

There have already been some INT drops already as well. Landry had a ball from Palmer practically hit him in the numbers. There were a couple of opportunities in the other 2 games as well. Still, good disciplined football has been the order of the day so far. The D may need to start taking more risks if the O doesn't kick into gear soon but there is no need to stray from what they have been doing in the secondary at this point.
-
Could you have ever imagined saying that before the season started?
-
I don't really mind the move too much for the Steelers game. We are going to setup with a brick wall of Ngata/Cody/Gregg/Divens/McKinney/Jones and force Batch to beat us. Our pass rush should be fine for this game as Batch certainly doesn't shed tacklers like Ben and isn't as elusive as Dixon either so we should see Suggs and JJ get to him a few times.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/The-bill-comes-due-for-Dez-Bryant-54-896-for-d;_ylt=AjH3WeP5.tkwJymbNZ5tQNlDubYF?urn=nfl-273085 I know its probably an off the cuff comment but it just shows you these guys live on a different planet to the rest of them when they think a dishwasher can earn $54,896 in a month!

So I held her head like this but it was totally ok because she couldn't say No:

This isn't so much matchups as it is an observation. We have done ok running the ball against Pittsburgh but that is in the past. This season it seems that we abandon the run as soon as we have a no gainer or 1 or 2 yard run. As soon as 2 and 8 appears Cam goes into pass mode. We don't use "proper" playaction nearly enough when we do pass. Anyway, against Pittsburgh's pass rush that is going to get us killed. I don't feel that the O-Line has performed very well this year in either run blocking or pass blocking. Granted we are without arguably our best lineman in Gaither but Pittsburgh destroyed that O-Line last year and I'm concerned they will do the same this year. Even if you class your secondary as weak, a good pass rush can mask a weak secondary. I don't really think that there is anything to fear from Pittsburgh's offense. I think we match up pretty well with them. So this game will be won and lost on the result of Pitt's D versus the Raven's O.

I have been critical in the past of Suggs giving away stupid roughing the passer penalties but that was never in a million years a penalty. Nice job refs handing Cinci the FG.

$$$$$$Money Talks$$$$$$$$ or in this case prevents it.

I have to say apart from holding the ball too long on that 1st play Joe looked pretty good. Even the INT I think wasn't really his fault. I'm guessing that Boldin was supposed to run a post route to take out the safety which would have left Heap 1 on 1 down the sideline with his man beat for a TD. I doubt that Cam would have been stupid enough to design those routes to be so close together so I will chalk this down to an error on Boldin's part. The throw to Heap down the seam that he dropped for a sure TD was all I needed to see from Joe and his confidence throwing over the middle. He found Heap for 6 catches for 70+ yards and that is exactly the sort of numbers I want to see. The sideline throws will be is bread and butter but now offenses will have to respect the middle of the field as well leaving WRs 1 on 1 on the outside. I no longer feel the team will go as far as Joe can take them. I think the team will go as far as the O-Line protects our QB.

I actually loved the play where Ray attacked the hole between the RG and RT and completely smashed the FB about 2 yards behind the O-Line. The FB backpedalled into the RB knocking him into the RG and then he fell over for the loss. That was a real nice play.

I agree with BallTMore She is a BOBFOC...... Body Off Baywatch Face Off Crimewatch

It may have been ugly at times but despite a couple of miscues and turnovers Joe still managed to put up 248 yards against a D that averaged only 153 through the air last season. The Jets have 3 first round picks in their secondary and still couldn't stop Flacco and it wasn't like Flacco had all day to throw either. If we can get Gaither back into some sort of playing shape and get the O-Line pieces gelled together then this is going to be one hell of an offense and the defense still looks top 5.
