  1. Sold. Can we get those in Purple, please.
  2. I hate to quote my own post....ok I actually love it. Cromartie went for a 2011 3rd round pick with the potential of it turning into a 2nd round pick depending on Cromartie's and the Jets' performance. I think I nailed his trade value spot on. Also it looks as though we are not going anywhere near Marshall. Disappointing but then at least we get to watch the first night of the draft with some interest.
  3. Plus I believe the electronic timings are based on 6 stop watches that are started by people judging when first movement was made. That watches stop automatically though based upon the laser thingy at the end of the run. They average the 6 watches to come up with the "official" time. If anything I would say that the video feed we are seeing is even more accurate than the "official" times.
  4. Marshall for a 1st = Ozzie get it done. My reluctance to trade for Marshall before was the multiple draft picks that were being touted around. For only a 1st this is a no brainer when you consider his production, off set all the troubles and then take a look at the WRs that will be available to you in the first couple of rounds of the draft. McGahee + a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Cromartie = FAIL. The Chargers will do well to get a 2nd round pick on its own for Cromartie. I would be in favour of the move if it was McGahee and a 5th or 6th round pick but nothing more.
  5. We absolutely have to put the 1st and 3rd round tender on Gaither. That should be the starting point for a young, stud LT. What is the point of trading him for a 1st round pick then picking up an unproven OT in the draft to replace him. That is liking trading in a Ferarri for a Fiat that might possibly turn into a Ferarri. Just plain dumb. If someone wants to snap him up for a 1st and 3rd then we are onto something. With the depth in this draft we get an OT to replace him and then have a 3rd round pick to get our next Ladarius Webb or help with a trade for a WR etc. That should be the only scenario that sees Gaither leave Baltimore. I think you put a 2nd round tender on Fabian Washington. If someone signs him then the Ravens get a 2nd round pick for a player they gave a 4th round pick for and is coming off an ACL. I think I would like to take a chance on one of the 2nd tier CBs in that case. Maybe Al Davis would be stupid enough to take him back for a 2nd round pick. I don't think we will be tendering Demetrius Williams at all. His days are done in Baltimore after the comments that Hardbaugh made. I don't think we tender Tony Moll. We could get him cheaper as a UFA on vet minimum. Everything else I agree with.
  6. Now that Tate has proven his speed I'm not against drafting him but we need to come out of this draft with a "big" WR. I still like Benn and that is who I would want. I really liked Jacoby Ford as well. He did really well during the Senior Bowl week and if he was there in the 3rd I would take him. His speed is something we could really use on the deep ball. That said, Al Davis will take him in the 2nd most likely.
  7. The rumours flying about last season that the best offer the Cards received for Boldin was a 3rd round pick and a depth player. All that has happened is Boldin has got older and more injured and is still looking to get paid. If the Cards will take a 3rd rounder and a depth LB or something then Ozzie should pull the trigger. At this point I would still prefer Marshall.
  8. The rumours going about last season had the best offer that the Cards received for Bolding being a 3rd round pick and a depth player. All that is happened is that Boldin has got a year older, been injured again and this year's draft is deeper than last years. That would put the price at a 3rd rounder and perhaps a young unproven player or a conditional draft pick for 2011, like a 4th rounder if the Ravens reach the superbowl, 5th rounder if Boldin makes the pro bowl and so on. If we give up a 2nd rounder we were robbed. EDIT: This is Boldin's final year of his contract. That reduces his price even further. The Cards get nothing for him next year except maybe for a compensation pick in the 2012 draft.
  9. We have the worst luck with TEs and injuries.
  10. I was half expecting you to say it was one of your relations and you were holding the camera!
  11. 1 WR down another 3 to go? I think it is an ok move as long as they are still looking for a way to get a no.1 WR and bring back Mason. Stallworth as a no.3 or no.4 WR is not a bad situation.
  12. Again another 2nd round WR prospect and another target if we trade back to the start of the 2nd round. Route running ability and speed are the only 2 knocks I can find on this guy.
  13. The more and more I think about it the more and more I think the Ravens are going to draft 1 of the so called 1st round WRs in the 2nd round. I started looking at trade value and we could trade down to the top of the 2nd round and gain an early 4th round pick. A trade back to about pick 41 or so would then start to garner around a 3rd round pick. With the quality of players in the first 3 or 4 rounds this year, I absolutely believe this should be the strategy unless another "Oher" falls to around pick 20. I don't have a big preference on any of the WRs outside of Bryant. They all have their strengths and weaknesses and there is perceived risk with them all. That said if we trade back to the top of the 2nd and get that extra pick, I suddenly feel a lot better about them all and wouldn't mind any of them at that spot. So for example, trade with Washington for a 2nd and 4th round pick. We then take whichever Ozzie feels is the best of the remaining WRs out of Benn, Thomas, Tate or Williams at this point. Take a CB like McCourty or Warren in the late 2nd or maybe even draft Hernandez at TE at that point. In the 3rd look at at either a DE/OLB, CB or TE depending on what happened in the 2nd. With the early 4th take another WR like Riley Cooper or a speedster like Jacoby Ford. Then again go looking for some depth on the D with the 2nd 4th round pick. If we still haven't got a TE I would look at Jimmy Graham from Miami as a 5th round prospect.
  14. RFA: QB Troy Smith (5 round)- 2nd round tender QB John Beck (2) - low tender RB McClain (4) - 2nd round tender WR Clayton (1) - low tender WR D. Williams (4) - c ya TE Q. Sypniewski (6) - low tender TE Jones (Undrafted) - low tender OT Gaither (5) - 1st and 3rd round tender OT Terry (2) - low tender OT Moll (5) - low tender OG Yanda (3) - 2nd round tender OG Chester (2) - low tender LB Barnes (4) - low tender LB Burgess (6) - low tender CB Washington (1) - low tender SA Landry (5) - 2nd round tender PK Cundiff (Undrafted) - low tender P Koch (6) - 2nd round tender
  15. Realy. I thought Biscuit said something about a real possibility of a lockout.
  16. I think the reason he didn't go over the middle was No.2 on your TEs list. Hernandez owned LBs in the middle of the field. Cooper would only have dragged another defender into Hernandez's zone when he went over the middle so he mostly ran outside routes. Coincidentally outside routes are Flacco's most comfortable. Could be a good fit. I am really high on Cooper and would love to see us pick him up if he is still available in the 4th.
  17. All reports had Gilyard having an up and down week in practice. He dropped a lot of balls but also did a nice job of getting open. Still looks like a 2nd round pick that could end up anywhere in that round.
  18. Favre was running for his life in that game. That is why there were so many turnovers. Plus everyone knows how bad AP is at holding onto the ball and the Saints did the correct thing by going after it. If they can get the same pressure on Manning that they did on Favre then of course they can win the game. However, getting that pressure on Manning is going to be tough and they won't get the hits on Manning like they did on Favre. Manning will lie down before they get within a yard of him so they have no chance of knocking Manning out of the game like they did against Favre. Can the Saints win? Of course they can. Will they win? I hope so.
  19. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/01/former_ravens_lb_coach_goes_from_one_harbaugh_to_another.html I can't say I didn't see this coming after the Ravens signed Pees to be LBs coach. Obviously one Harbaugh was giving the other some time to get a replacement in before announcing Fangio was leaving.
  20. Graham was a monster all week in the Senior Bowl practices and I think he was the game MVP as well. Of all the players there he improved his stock the most and I would be surprised now if he makes it anywhere near the 20s. However, as 1 player moves up another player drops.
  21. Did anyone see the guy in the row behind getting the girl's number near the end? He was either hitting on here or the more likely scenario, was passing numbers so he could be a witness.
  22. I agree with you cleetz. He would be a great fit with the Ravens. I hadn't mentioned him before because I was sure he was going to play Baseball. I really liked what I saw out of him at Florida this season. I also really like Hernandez his team mate as a receiving TE.
  23. If any of these guys are available in the 4th round then we got to pick 1 of them up: Jacoby Ford (Could be the quickest player in the draft but is another "small" WR) Riley Cooper (6-4 target that I thought was going to play baseball but has committed to football now. He was a great target for Tebow this season and I would love for us to take him) Danarrio Alexander (Another big target. Needs to learn to run routes better but can fight for the ball in the air and would be a big target in the red zone for Flacco) IMO, we absolutely have to come out of this draft with a high pick (either by trade or selection) and then a mid round pick like the 3 above. I would only pick Ford if we have picked a big receiver like Dez Bryant or Arrelious Benn in the first couple of rounds.
  24. I would throw up if we drafted Mays that high. All I see is a gym rat with no football instincts. He is the next Roy Williams IMO and just ask the 'boys how good a safety he was. Perhaps he could learn better habits from Ed Reed but I don't know if what Ed Reed does is even teachable. If we haven't traded our 1st round pick for a WR then I would be happy with either Gresham, Graham or Kindle. Although if we keep with the 3-4 then Kindle would fit better. He can play LB and then put his hand in the dirt on 3rd down and rush the passer. Could Graham do that would be a question I would need answered before I was happy. I'm also scared of taking Gresham here. How well will he be recovered from that knee injury? The other option I like is to trade down, maybe to the top of the 2nd round and pick up some more picks later in the draft. At that point we get good value on any of the 2nd tier WRs such as Benn or Williams.
