  1. Yeah I would have loved to have got Dez as well. The Cowboys paid a lot to get up ahead of us and I'm pretty sure the Packers really wanted Bulaga when he fell. We really couldn't afford to give up anything more to go up in the draft. We just had too few picks with too many holes to fill.
  2. And Williams has proved what exactly? That he can play ball against kids. The Ravens were impressed last season with Divens and Talavou that they kept them both on the Roster despite not really having the room for either never mind both. Anyway, I suppose there is always a chance Cody could be the pick in the 2nd.
  3. Why does everyone want a NT so bad? We have 4 of them on the team already and 3 of them are under 27. We need a pass rusher and secondary help, a TE and possibly another WR. Maybe its true that the Ravens like Benn.
  4. That was a dream trade for the Ravens. Picking up the 43rd pick and a 3rd and 4th round pick was a dream trade scenario for us. You either had to take Wilson or take a trade and that worked out nicely.
  5. OMG what a great trade for us. We get a 3rd and 4th round pick on top of a 2nd!!!!!!!
  6. The start of the schedule is hateful. Away to the Jets on Monday night isn't too bad but then facing a divisional foe on the road on a short week. They could have at least moved the Bengals game to a Sunday night game or given us a home game instead.
  7. I have watched some of Men of a Certain Age. Its not bad but I haven't got into it like other shows. I still have a few downloaded episodes to watch so I will see if it can hook me. I'm looking forward to Deadliest Catch. Where is this season based Crav. Is it back to the crab fishermen in the Bering Sea?
  8. lol, and he is going to Miami and that party scene. I heard the Miami Dade police where pimping out a cell just for his overnight stays.
  9. You know, I was thinking about those blocked kicks and wondering about his athleticism. He sure looked athletic enough getting through the line and getting up to block the kick. Could he do that when pass rushing is the question? Was he ever asked to do that at Bama? Perhaps his role was to just take up 2 blockers all the time and allow other pass rushers 1 on 1 matchups. If he is blocked 1 on 1 in the pros will he be able to defeat the block and collapse the pocket. If the answer is yes then he is worth the risk.
  10. As mentioned he doesn't want to play there. And why should he? He is the best LT on the team. I'm not basing the football decision on money at this point. I'm in favour of keeping Gaither at LT and Oher at RT because that is where they are best at the moment. The problem is in the future the decision WILL become about money because of the Cap assuming it comes back in the next collective bargaining agreement. At that point the Ravens will have to make a decision on keeping 1 of them because they can't pay 2 OTs on the team LT money and that is what they are going to demand. Now obviously they are going to pick the one they want and pay him and let the other one go, but that decision can be delayed for another 4 years in which time we can hopefully develop a RT.
  11. No we shouldn't move Oher to the left because we have Gaither and if Gaither gets his contract he will be paid as a LT. Oher is on a rookie contract that is favourable in value. In 4 years he will be looking to get paid like a LT. Then you have the problem of choosing between Gaither and Oher. Likelihood is you can only afford 1 of them. Money will be a factor then but it isn't now. Fact is Gaither is the better LT now and I would like to see it remain that way.

    LOST 2/16/10

Ahhhh, I can't read this thread normally until Saturday. Lost doesn't show with us until Friday night but I thought I would take a peek anyway. Glad Dee didn't give anything away even if she is "Lost".
  13. Well it is more a revelation about the trickster than a twist, I suppose.
  14. Dee, the last trickster episode was Season 5 Episode 8: Changing Channels http://www.tv.com/supernatural/changing-channels/episode/1301966/summary.html?tag=ep_guide;summary Great episode with a great tiwst at the end.
  15. No production last season. Game tape shows him catching a lot of short stuff. He doesn't have blistering speed but for a big guy has adequate speed. Probably a very early 2nd round WR with a chance to be a bottom of the 1st for a team who overlooks his senior year production as a result of poor QB play and/or system.
  16. If you believe everything you see and read then Will Smith prevented the end of the world by uploading a computer virus into an alien mothership only for the world to end through a natural disaster in 2012 anyway! Fact is, Oher is great on the right, not so great on the left (yet). Might as well keep it that way until his pay day comes in 4 years time.
  17. I watched the first 4 seasons over last christmas. I was hooked by the end of the 1st season. It was a little slow to start but it picked up again by the end of the 1st season and the 2nd season is great. I love the humor, the actors are great and the storylines and main story arch is amazing. My favorite episodes are the trickster/******* episodes. The stars are there because I don't want to spoil it for those that haven't got to the episode with a twist involving the trickster. Great show and one of my favorites on tv right now. Glad they got a 6th season to drag out the Lucifer story arch which has been great.
  18. The Rams cut their starting QB and did not trade for McNabb. By all indications they are taking Sam Bradford 1st overall or trading out of the spot and taking the best QB available at the lower spot. I think the draft goes down like this at the top: 1. Sam Bradford 2. Ndamukong Suh 3. Gerald McCoy 4. Russell Okung The Lions are the wild card. They could very well take Okung to protect Stafford which gives the Bucs the choice between Suh and McCoy and then leaves the Skins taking Bulaga. As for the Ravens, well I don't like the Thomas pick because his game tape is inconclusive. He looks good running the 2 routes he ran on tape but an NFL WR has 10 routes of the route tree to run. Without the personal workouts he missed due to injury he hasn't been able to eleviate any of the question marks surrounding him and therefore becomes even more of a guess than most picks. With what is left in your draft I would prefer to trade down and then target any of the guys you mentioned as options including Thomas. Although, without a trade down I would probably go with McCourty out of Rutgers as the pick.
  19. Crav, I couldn't agree with you more about Preston. Anyway, if I was Gaither I wouldn't have turned up for voluntary work without a signed contract whether that was his tender or a new long term deal. The fact he has done so shows his commitment to the team. What would happen if god forbid he got a career threatening injury while working out at with the Ravens before he had a contract. Does the offer get pulled and he gets nothing? I have to commend Gaither for this commitment. Credit where credits due. I hope we sign him long term and he becomes a perennial pro bowler at LT and forms part of the best O-Line in the league. I don't see why everyone is in a hurry to move Oher to the left side. He is a beast on the right side.
  20. lmao, that stadium pic is fantastic.
  21. Me too. Prime time for me is a 12.30am start. So the Ravens will be picking at approx. 4.30am That sux! At least the Saturday start was at 5pm and worked nicely for me. Oh well. I will just have to record it and avoid all media types until I get home on the Friday after work or stock up on coffee. I feel a sick day coming on.
  22. Perhaps Cam did get it. He just knew that the WRs we had sucked so there was no point in having Joe throw more incompletions than necessary.
  23. He couldn't beat out Lame J Smith and a converted LB for a roster spot so not holding out much hope for him. That said, he makes the roster and we still need another TE. Jones and Smith were not resigned. Jones will probably get signed after the draft depending on what happens.
  24. Can these guys be deemed "Cap Casualties" when there is no cap. The only way these guys are released is if their current team deems them not worth their 2010 salary. If they are worried about 2011 salaries when/if a salary cap comes back then they can cut them before then but they might as well get a year out of them before that happens.
  25. I just don't know about Taylor Mays. He lacks football instincts for a safety. He is everything that Ed Reed is not. Taylor Mays passes the physical test but everything else is a question mark for me. As for Landry, like the rest of the secondary, he was playing some good ball at the end of the season. It maybe took him a while to get back into the swing of things. As for picking a safety in the 1st, if Ozzie feels that that player is BPA then he will pick them. Personally, I now believe that he a TE, DE, CB or pass rushing DT are the areas of need and there is some good value at the end of the 1st with Odrick from Penn State and Price from UCLA at DT, Brandon Graham would be hands down ultimate pick if he falls to 25, Kyle Wilson would be great at CB. TE will also have good value but I think we could trade back and still get Gresham. If we don't take Gresham there are a lot of interesting TEs that will be available for our 2nd round pick. There will also be some really good CBs that fall to our pick in the 2nd round as well. Unless Graham falls, my ideal scenario is to trade back to the top of the 2nd and get a 3rd round pick back. Take the best CB, TE, DE or DT available and then go from there. We should be able to get good value at all those spots in the first 3 rounds. In the 5th I would like to see us take a shot at 1 of these sleeper WRs. Someone with enough speed to become a deep threat. With our other 5th and 6th round picks fill out some depth on the O and D lines or pick up a TE that has maybe fallen if we don't get 1 in the first 3 rounds.
