Tornado700 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Your true feelings about this game?I'm not as optimistic as before. I just feel that our offense isn't in full sinc right now. Plus, the revenge factor, plus playing at Denver.23- 13. Broncos. It's just one game. Quote
cravnravn Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Revenge Factor We wear the Bulls-Eye Im not so worried about the O, because what you have seen in pre season is nothing you will see come Thursday night. If we hit Manning 8 to 10 times, we stand a chance. That'll mean hes not getting time to go down field. If we dont put pressure on him, It'll be a long night for Jimmy & Webby. Quote
tgann68 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 2 things 1) Our pass rush 2) Denver's LACK of pass rush This will be the difference and Ravens win Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Week 1 Denver wins week 5 the Ravens would. Quote
vmax Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 The Ravens walked into a far worse situation last year. The D, which couldn't't get off the field had played 80 snaps against the Colts. Sub zero temperatures. Mile high altitude in favor of the Broncos....who had an extra week to prepare...home field advantage...banged up Suggs,Ngata, Ray and Ed.True....I don't feel certain of a Ravens win yet I think they will.Turnoverd and penalties will determine who wins. If the Ravens keep that to a minimum then I really like their chances. Quote
Tornado700 Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 Week 1 Denver wins week 5 the Ravens would. Pretty much my feelings exactly. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I like our chances in this game. I don't think the Broncos will be very good this year. Quote
Tornado700 Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 Anybody know the odds? Craven?I didn't think they would be posted yet but are. Denver by 9. Quote
tgann68 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 everyone On here will agree with this.... What happens when Joe Flacco has time to throw? HE WINS THAT'S WHAT! think about it NO Dumervil or Miller for Denver which is 31 total sacks from last year. Add Yanda Osemele Oher McKinney as one of the best now veteran lines in the league and Joe will have time to throw. If he has the time he will eat that Champ bailey-less secondary apart. Plus Denver is without not only their STARTING CENTER but their BACKUP CENTER as well to injuries and that poor bastard will be lined up across from a healthy HALOTI NGATA! Which wil mean a center push and Sir Manning on his Ass! Not to mention that Manning was facing a Team without its top corner in Lad. Webb last year. If he is on the field he shuts down Thomas. So they are left stopping Welker and we know a few shots to his head and he will have alligator arms AGAIN revert to last years AFCCG for evidence of that...lol RAVENS WIN!!! Quote
cravnravn Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Week 1 Denver wins week 5 the Ravens would. Week 1 we do have a good record, but I won't jinx us, but iam betting us legally and illegally Quote
Oldschool739 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 2 things 1) Our pass rush 2) Denver's LACK of pass rush This will be the difference and Ravens win That is a glaring point tg, and remember Peyton gets frustrated with pressure in his face and makes bad mistakes. I say we get 3 picks, a fumble recovery , big runs and win 34- 23. Anyone remember our opener a few years ago against Pitts, with all our unanswered questions, we blew them out..... REPEAT !!!! Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I don't think the D will be firing perfectly coming out of the gate. There were to many moves on that side of the ball and some chemestry needs to be formed there. Quote

Both the D and the O need time to get going this year.I think the Bronco's win with all the revenge emotion they have. Quote
tgann68 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Agreed OS.... It's ours to win or lose. Manning was not impressive against a bad D we had last year. This year we can throw him a beating. Quote
cravnravn Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Anybody know the odds? Craven? Ravens +8Over/Under 48 n a hook Quote
tgann68 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Yup Miller is suspended and as of 14 hrs ago the Broncos are not sure if Champ Bailey will play or not. Thats the reason they held onto Quentin Jammer bc Bailey may not play. RAVENS BABY!!! Quote

vmax Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 We have not seen the 2013 Ravens offense or defense. I have no idea what it will look like and this is a huge part of the excitement...and anxiety... ...that I'm feeling heading towards Thursday night.I know this much...there are a ton of defensive packages and we saw maybe...3???? I hope they can pressure Manning with just the front 4. That will allow for better coverage. Manning will have to dink and dunk because he will not have time to go long. The Ravens faster linebackers and nickel packages should help. "Sorry Peyton. You'll have to wait until I retire to hear how to win in the playoffs." Quote
thundercleetz Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 When looking at the key differences between this year's game and last year's game, here's what I see: 1. Ravens red-zone defense2. No Von Miller With the addition of Welker to the already dangerous Denver offense it's a given Peyton will get his yards between the twenties. Do not forget the Broncos were playing with a third strong RB against us last season. With Monte Ball they have a tough, talented runner. While the Ravens defense is younger, faster, has more depth, and overall vastly improved, the Ravens red-zone defense last season was outstanding. The collective Football Intelligence (FBI) of Ed Reed and Ray Lewis cannot be understated in the red-zone. With play calling options limited against a short field, Lewis and Reed could pretty much call out the offensive play. If we cannot keep those 7's as 3's we'll lose. We caught a major break with Von Miller being out. Combined with the loss of Dumervil, the Denver defense starts and stops with Miller. Especially with Flacco being without his top two targets from last year, Boldin and Pitta, not having to worry about Miller gives us some room for error. We probably cannot expect the Ravens offense to come out firing on all syllables with the changes at receiver, but no Von Miller takes a lot of pressure off of Flacco and the offensive line. Miller's absence also opens up opportunities in the run game. Quote

varaven45 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I think the revenge factor trumps most everything Thursday night. Denver is pissed, has bigger chip on its shoulder, and its in their house (I am still among the few that's ticked we aren't playing at M & T). We (and especially Joe) has a huge chip, too, but the loss of Bolden and Pitta will become apparent, especially in crunch time. Agree with Cleetz that a Ray and Reed-less defense will be exposed by Manning and his numerous weapons. Quote
vmax Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 As long as the Ravens don't spot them 2 special teams touchdowns they'll be fine. It's not Mannings arm that I'm worried about. It's Denver's running game. They have to establish the run or the Ravens pass rush will engulf Manning. Quote

I'd be more concerned if they had McGahee back there then Moreno Quote
