Spen Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 There have been some bad years and some great years but overall I think it has been pretty consistent. If you watch the full shows, not the best of versions, the old ones had a lot of horrible stuff too. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I can't watch the whole show but watching sketch one by one is fine. Quote
Spen Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I guess SNL and similar is kind of like porn. if you watch a few minutes of it then it might seem good, but if you watch the whole 90 minutes (ie The Whole 9 Inches) then it might seem bad. Quote
cravnravn Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I'm sure it's still a great show it's been on fro what 40 years, but belushi, ackrord, Murray, curtain, Radner and Morris, they were the funniest Quote

Spen Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 My favorite time frame is probably a weird one, one that was a strange time in SNL history. I like the season where they hired more established people like Billy Crystal, Christopher Guest, and Martin Short. I thought that was a really good group. The 90s had a number of good casts. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 That is a very good time. Steve Martin being there all the time too. Quote

It wasn't afraid to make fun of race. I loved Chappelle show for that reason too. The all time funniest skit was the black/white supremacist. Quote

Spen Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 In Living Color was great, certainly funny enough to comment on global warming. Quote
