papasmurfbell Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 98 Rock just reported probation no jail. Anger Mang and other things required. He has to comeback to court so they see progress. Quote

(AP) - Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has been offered a plea bargain that would spare him jail time if he participates in anger management counseling. But it might not even get that far for Rice, who is charged with aggravated assault stemming from a February incident with his then-girlfriend in an Atlantic City casino elevator.Rice applied for New Jersey's pretrial intervention program, which allows first-time offenders to have charges against them dismissed after participating in the program and meeting certain conditions. The county prosecutor will decide whether Rice is allowed to enter the program.Rice pleaded not guilty Thursday. He arrived at court holding hands with the woman, who is now his wife.I may have misunderstood 98 Rock or they had the wrong info. Quote
tsylvester Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 2 game suspension likely, entering the program is, essentially, admitting guit according to the NFL Quote
papasmurfbell Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Oh yeah. The vid we saw gets him 2 games at least. Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 2 game suspension likely, entering the program is, essentially, admitting guit according to the NFLThe NFL doesn't even need that. The ginger dictator suspends who he wants when he wants. Quote
tsylvester Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 The NFL doesn't even need that. The ginger dictator suspends who he wants when he wants. That depends on the situation. In this case, it falls under the rules of conduct detrimental. In this case, max four games, min, if he takes the deal, 2 games. Now, were he to go to trial and be convicted, then likely 6-8 games. On the field he has more sawy with the rules, that is the difference. Quote
oldno82 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Sounds like 4 games to me. The video TMZ published was pretty disturbing and we haven't even seen the elevator video. Quote
tsylvester Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Rice will have a press conference tomorrow, Friday, at noon... Quote
varaven45 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Lets hope this whole ordeal becomes a "rite of passage" for Ray. He might respond like Ray Ray after his trial in 1999/2000. He played with a sense of purpose and urgency the whole season. Maybe Rice follows suit. Hell, what has he got to lose ? Quote
Tornado700 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Sounds like 4 games to me. The video TMZ published was pretty disturbing and we haven't even seen the elevator video. This case is now closed, unless Ray violates the agreement. Therefore, we are not going to see the elevator video. At first, I always said 4 game suspension but think now that it will be 2 games. (and big games at that) Quote

ravinmaniac52 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Wait till we see what they trained them to say today. Never know. Rice was good guy for a long time. Always doing the right things. Besides, if he gets nothing it will piss the rest of the fans off. Quote
varaven45 Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 My $ is on 4 games. Goodell will lay down the hammer on Rice. Quote
Robjr83 Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Anyone see Rice's presser? "You know when get knocked down you just got to get back up", "let me check that I hit all my notes"... was a comedian writing his lines? Sticking puns in there. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 I figure 4. It could be helpful for him to be more rested. Quote
oldno82 Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 This will be Lorenzo Taliaferro's big chance. So we should know quickly how good he is. Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) I think that press conference made the situation worse and the live tweets were an epic fail. I know the chick had something to do with it but why in the hell would you tweet her apology furthermore why would you have her apologize at all. Like i said yes she had something to do with it but the average fan doesnt know that and legally speaking she is the victim. He isn't the only one that does it but I can't stand when a guy just stands there and reads word for word from his notes. Have notes thats fine but dont just read straight from them at least try and memorize it. No matter where you are coming from it sounds and looks fake when you do that. I have said I think RIce is a good guy who probably got caught up in the moment and did something stupid it happens as long as he learns and grows from it he will be alright. Edit I'm not blaming the presser on RIce that falls on the Ravens PR department. They really dropped the ball on this and should have never been live tweeting in the first place to me that leaves a lot of room from error while rushing to get the news out there.
