It so much easier now to sign these guys and get them in...

The Baltimore Ravens' final selection in the 2014 draft was their first one to sign.

Wake Forest slot receiver Michael Campanaro, a seventh-round pick who grew up in nearby Columbia, Md., agreed to a four-year, $2.287 million contract that includes a $67,500 signing bonus, according to The Baltimore Sun.

The Ravens traded a sixth-round pick in 2015 to the Cleveland Browns to get a seventh-rounder this year, which they used on Campanaro.

“I think he’s shifty. I think he’s tough," assistant general manager Eric DeCosta said. "I think he’s very quick. He plays the slot, which is kind of a niche position, and he does that very, very well."

The Ravens also filled the last spot on their 90-man roster when they signed undrafted rookie linebacker Ryan Jones from Montana Tech. He made 127 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 16 tackles for losses and an interception in his two seasons with the Orediggers.

The Ravens are moving swiftly to sign their draft picks.

Baltimore officially inked three on Wednesday: third-round tight end Crockett Gillmore, fifth-round center/guard John Urschel and sixth-round quarterback Keith Wenning.

The terms of the deals are not released by the team. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Ravens-Sign-Three-Draft-Picks/8020ae1a-5731-4e23-ba24-cb43c8ea0f7a

Ravens ink another draft pick

The Baltimore Ravens are rounding up their rookie class quickly.

A trio of picks already had been signed. Seventh-round receiver Mike Campanero has agreed to terms and will sign his contract on Thursday.

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun first reported the news, adding that the slotted deal has a total four-year value of $2.287 million. The deal consists of $67,000 signing bonus and non-guaranteed base salaries through 2017.

The Ravens acquired the pick that became Campanero in a trade with the Browns. To get Campanero, the Ravens sent a 2015 sixth-round pick to Cleveland.

Agent: Ravens agree with Timmy Jernigan

The Ravens, who began their rookie minicamp on Friday, have struck deals with two more draft picks.

According to agent Sunny Shah, the Ravenshave agreed to terms with Florida State defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, the club’s second-round pick (No. 48 overall).

Also, the Ravens have signed Coastal Carolina running back Lorenzo Taliaferro, one of their fourth-round selections, the team said Friday.

Jernigan and Taliaferro each received four-year deals.

Jernigan (6-2, 298) notched 63 tackles and 4.5 sacks for the national-champion Seminoles in 2013. After Jernigan’s selection, Ravens coach John Harbaugh indicated Jernigan has nose guard and three-technique defensive tackle qualities.

“Those guys are interchangeable in there, but he is probably more of a three-technique body type,” Harbaugh said, according a transcript from the club. “He’s really active, he moves around, but he is stout. He does not get moved out at all. He is in the low 300s probably, a really quick-footed guy, really athletic guy in there. [He is] probably a three-technique who plays nose guard. [That] is how we’d probably describe him.”

Taliaferro (6-2, 230) rushed for 1,729 yards and 27 touchdowns for Coastal Carolina last season.

“The thing I liked about him at the Senior Bowl was he was probably the best back there in pass [protection], which is kind of a dying art these days,” Ravens G.M. Eric DeCosta said of Taliaferro after the draft, according to the club. “That tells you about a kid’s mentality, that he’s willing to stick his nose in there. He’s an aggressive runner, he’s a downhill runner, he’s a good scheme fit, he has good hands.”

The Ravens now have reached deals with 6-of-9 draft picks. The unsigned selections are linebacker C.J. Mosley (Round One), safety Terrence Brooks(Round Three) and defensive lineman Brent Urban (Round Four).

Enough of signing Jacksonville players...they are losers for a reason.

And Houston guys too....

The Ravens added depth to their offensive line on Monday when they signed guard Will Rackley, who has 25 career NFL starts.

Rackley had been a free agent since March when the Jaguars cut the 2011 third-round draft pick. He started extensively at left guard as a rookie and last season. The 6-foot-3, 310-pounder missed the 2012 season after sustaining an ankle injury.

Rackley started all but one of the 26 games he played for the Jaguars.

The Ravens also signed running back Shaun Chapas and tight end Phillip Supernaw on Monday. Supernaw, who has spent time with the Houston Texans, participated in the Ravens’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.

The Ravens made room on their roster by releasing tight end Matt Furstenburg, defensive lineman Cody Larsen and outside linebacker D.J. Bryant.

Furstenberg, a Maryland product, and Larsen spent last season on the practice squad.

Bryant, a Baltimore native, had been with the Ravens since 2012 but he did not appear in a game. He spent last season on injured reserve after hurting his leg. http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/9952/baltimore-ravens-sign-former-jacksonville-jaguars-guard-will-rackley

Gee, Furstenburg is gone. Really sorry he didn't make it. I was rooting for him. They must really like what they see in the drafted TE. Also goes to show how damned hard it is to make it as a UDFA.

I'm pulling for Hurst. In fact, I'll pull for any RT we pick up.

I figure they stay the Jags.

Definitely. There is the opportunity with a sponsorship deal with the British Car maker Jaguar that can be exploited for $. It's almost too easy for Khan. He just needs to get the team out of Jacksonville at the earliest opportunity.
