vmax Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 They gave up 396 yards.....31POINTS!!!!.... 31! Chew on that. Unanswered.....ponder that Offense! No sacks. 24 first downs. 24! And just like last year, they wilt on 3rd down... Third-down passing: Cousins completed six of seven passes for 52 yards and a touchdown on third downs. Four resulted in first downs, The secondary can't tackle. Not much of a pass rush. 2 minutes!?.... Two-minute drive: These situations always test quarterbacks. For Saturday night at least, Cousins handled it well, as the Redskins drove from their own 17 for a touchdown in the final 2:34 of the half. Quote
Spen Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Also the team pretty much folded after the altercation. What, if anything, does that say about the makeup of the team. It was stupid. It was a dangerous dirty play but Harbaugh needs to stay off the field. Quote

That's when Gruden said something off cuff to him, which lead to Harbaugh screaming at him. Quote

RavenMad Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Can't tackle, can't get pressure, can't cover. It could be a long season. Quote

There is also no excuse for Harbaugh being on the field so far he is closer to their side of the field. I hated it when Cowher used to do it, I don't like Harbaugh doing it. It could have really escalated things. Quote
oldno82 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Overall it was a disappointing outing. The whole team caved after the fight. The D wasn't doing that much even before it. Where the hell is the pass rush?? We had zero! Buck Allen is a huge disappointment. Perriman can't even get on the field. Maxx Williams is hurt. Injuries galore. Could really be in for a rough ride this year. Harbaugh needs to shake this team up. We wouldn't have had anything without Steve Smith! Quote
vmax Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Well said Canty.... “We’ve got a lot of things to clean up,” Canty said. “Defensively, we’ve got to find a way to stop the run. We’ve got to find a way to create some turnovers. We’ve got to find a way to put pressure on the passer. Those are just things that we did not do well tonight. Those are things that have been our trademark, our calling card, so to speak, the last couple of years.”http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/blog/ravens-talk/3-defensive-issues-arise-ravens-loss-redskins-timmy-jernigan In three preseason games, the Ravens are surrendering an average of 33 points per game. They have given up 100 yards rushing against the Saints, 238 yards rushing against the Eagles, and 111 yards rushing against the Redskins. The Ravens’ second string and third string units yielded most of that yardage, Quote

TBird Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 First of all, the morning guys on 105.7 fm said the hit on the head was legal. Secondly, the defense won't give up all those points and yards when the season begins. All teamsare banged up right now and just trying to get thru the pre-season in one piece. Ravens should still win 10 games and get into POs/ Quote
tsylvester Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 But in other news, the performance has allowed Washington to continue their chaos. I am a big fan of Cousins, (MSU fan big time, one of their profs is a Ravens fan from here, knew him well from another Ravens board, back when Insiders was huge).... any who, I don't think he is ready to start and frankly, the worst thing to happen to RG3 was getting drafted by the Skins. The 2nd worst thing was all the success he had his first year, after which he said this league was easy.......... Quote
TBird Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 That's what happen when you're the top QB coming out and the worse team drafts you but they're laughing all the way to the bank. Even Boller made about $20M playing football-lol. Quote
