Tornado700 Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Why are you such a hater of this team? Perhaps you should move to Pittsburgh where you belong. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 BTW I didn't write it. Also Timmons is on their list. Quote
Robjr83 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Good ole' Papa longing for the pre Flacco days Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Why would I want Boller. I was pissed when they drafted him. Hell I was one of the first to say he would be a bust and ppl said he would come around. I think they should have moved onto a completely new option already. Quote
Robjr83 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 What direction would that have been? Draft a QB every 4 years and if your lucky to find a good one then let them hit free agency because god forbid they want to be paid? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 No. You get as many picks as you can. Spot a guy maybe not in the next draft bu 2-3 down the line and make sure you have the ammo to get him. Develop him and keep him for the long haul. Quote

Develop him and keep him for the long haul. So you trade some of our current picks to have ammo for a qb 2-3 years down the line that you have no real idea will be a NFL star.... Do you really think the Colts would've traded their Luck pick? The skins had to sell the farm to get RGknee. You want the Ravens to give up multiple 1st and 2nds on a maybe? Flacco would have had better numbers if Oz hadn't wiffed on so many people these last 3 seasons. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 No I would trade guys who you see as not having a future here to teams and accumulate picks. It is what I have been saying for yrs. Quote
Robjr83 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Guys who don't have a future here...you mean bad players/old players? Like when the Ravens tried to trade Monroe and had nobody interested? You think we'll get top tier picks for Elam or Kendrick Lewis? You think teams will trade for Suggs coming off two major injuries? The Ravens got stuck with 20 late rounds picks last year because teams don't want to trade down, this isn't Madden logic. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 No. Players that have value to others but you just can't afford to pay or you thik they have topped out on production. You can't trade your trash. Only sports talk radio callers think you can trade trash. I would have traded Suggs before he got his FA deal. I would have traded Cmac before he got his. Yanda should have been traded before and kept KO. Quote
Robjr83 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 So teams would trade good picks for guys like KO,Art Jones,McFee who the Ravens wont be able to sign? Those teams would only be renting those players for one year then they'll hit FA. As a GM you would trade a #3 for a player that may or may not be on your team next year? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Then you should ask Bill how he does it. He just took Philly to the cleaners. Quote
OneManCypher Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 the article was right on point, the playoff run was a fluke and his play since then has proven that, and the worse move Ozzie has made these past few years was signing Flacco and then extending him. We are paying an average QB top dollar , i can name ten Qb's that would have had us in the playoffs all 3 years since the superbowl and none of them make as much money as Flacco, so if you want to blame Ozzie for anything blame him for all of the Cap space that Flacco's contract eats up. You see if Flacco's play matched his contract then any other bad picks or contracts that Ozzie is responsible for would not be as noticeable because our great QB would cover them up. Ozzie's most flagrant bad move is the Flacco contract and it's nice to see that others have noticed because most people round here are Flacco fans and not Raven fans. Quote

Ozzie has many great flubs, far more hurting to the team than Flacco's deal. Quote
thundercleetz Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 If Flacco can play like he did in 2014 under Kubiak, he's worth the contract IMO. Quote

thundercleetz Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Go get Kubes back.I wish, Kubiak was the best thing to happen to the Ravens offense since Vinny Testaverde and Ted Marchibroda. I wonder if Kubiak would have had any interest in Joe after Peyton retired? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 I was thinking Joe would force his way over to Den last yr. I am sure Kubes would have taken him. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 Um Max...Dilfer is ranked above Flacco... Quote
