varaven45
Listening to NFL Network last night - Pat Kirwin and Jim Miller - and they talked about how teams have had success vs Oakland D.They mentioned how Atlanta's O had huge success by running multiple TE sets against Oakland's D. It really openend up the passing gamefor Ryan who had a super performance. Isnt time for Trestman/Flacco to utilize our TEs ? Aside from the running game, I cant thing of an area that is more underutilized.Time to get the big boys going !

Robjr83
I think we haven't been using TEs because Williams has been hurt and Waller is on the suspended list.

Robjr83
I'd like to see them use anything other than shotgun shuttle to do running plays.
ravinmaniac52
Chargers put up 38 points on the Jags. Gordon rushed for over 100 yards with a 4.3 Woodhead had 9.0 on 3 before he got hurt. Rivers had a very good day at passing the ball 4 TDs, and that was with who catching the ball.

tsylvester
So far they have won the games they are suppose to win. Oakland is another game they should win, while the Raiders are a good team, they are not better, overall than the Ravens right now. As crav pointed out, a west coast team coming east for a 1 pm game is a big challange to overcome. It has been done, but not very often. West coast teams combined, since 2006 to score just 56 pts in the first half of games being outscored 202- 56... The Raiders are just 5- 9 when playing a 1 pm game on the east coast... So the Ravens should get out to a quick start and then they need to keep the pedal down in the 2nd half, not settle for field goals or playing it safe. The question is, will they? tsylvester
Jensen and Hurst are reportedly going to start on the left side; this does not bode well for Joe nor the running game...

vmax
So far, the group has played well, but it will be different Sunday. Carr, a third-year player, had his breakout game last season against the Ravens, throwing for 351 yards in a 37-33 Raiders victory. The Raiders are averaging 436 yards per game, including 148.3 rushing. Oakland has the worst defense in the NFL, so it's safe to believe the Ravens will score some points. It comes down to whether the Ravens can slow down the Raiders offense and not allow this game to turn into a scoring marathon."You hear the numbers; there is no shying away from that," Orr said. "They are definitely top two or top three in the league, offensively. It will be a great challenge to see where we stack up. Statistically, we are one of the top defenses in the league right now. It will be a great battle."...http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/sports/bs-sp-preston-column-0930-20160929-column.html "we have work to do." oldno82
After this game we'll know if our 'improved' defense is for real or just a mirage. The offense should pick up also even with the moving parts it has new.
vmax
EXPECT LOTS OF POINTS IN RAVENS-RAIDERSLast year, Derek Carr and the Raiders beat the Ravens on a last-second drive. This time: Oakland visits Baltimore, and is 1-18 in its last 19 games in the Eastern time zone. The Ravens may be undefeated, but they've been eeking out close wins They are calling for a lot of points in this game but I just don'e see it if Jensen and Hurst are starting on the left side of the O line.I can't see a running game or Joe having time in the pocket. The Raiders are last in pass defense in the NFL. 30th against the run.let's hope this holds up for 1 more week. ravinmaniac52
I understand they will missing both of their RTs. I like John Urschel and Ryan Jensen, Hurst is a good back-up, he has filled in just fine before. The Raiders CAN score some points. I'm worried more about Shareece Wright then anyone. vmax
Oakland is 1-18 in the eastern time zone. Like taking candy from a baby. Don't go there...Where and when was that win? the change in the defense from a year ago has been drastic enough that you can’t help wondering if it’s a dream. Is Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees’ unit really going to play this way for the rest of 2016? A year ago, Oakland’s offense brought Baltimore’s defense to its knees. After quarterback Derek Carr orchestrated a 37-point, 448-yard total offensive performance in a Week 2 upset, the Ravens defense was never the same in 2015.Carr is back this year along with most of the weapons that gave the Ravens such trouble, starting with wideouts Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, who totaled 220 receiving yards in last year’s game. This year, the Raiders are ranked No. 2 in the league in total offense through three games.“It’s a very, very explosive offense,” Pees said this week....http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Eisenberg-Were-About-To-Find-Out-If-Ravens-No-2-Defense-For-Real/3b2f49cc-491a-49f8-95e9-424f4b8cbd2d
cravnravn
Don't go there...Where and when was that win? Dec 6th 2009, they beat the Stealers...Oh by the way we have 5 straight wins vs the slappies from Western appalachia
vmax
Heading to the Bank at 11. My war bloods up.Todays game will show if the 2016 Ravens are better than the 2015 squad. They have a lot to do today: avoid penalties and turnovers, win time of possession and field position, score TD's instead of FG's, make plays on 3rd down-get off the field on 3rd down, pressure Carr, That's a lot to ask.Can I add 1 more? How about some semblance of a running game? GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!ANDGO O'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS: iF YOU'RE WATCHING THE GAME IN LONDON, THERE'S QUITE A FEW RAVENS JERSEYS IN THE STANDS. cravnravn
2 keys to our loss 1st Harbs taking the penalty.2ndly and most importantly, going for fucking 2 in the 3rd quarter and failing, we kick the extra point and it forces the Raiders to go for two in the 4th quarter just to tie the freekin game. tsylvester
The Raiders are better than the Ravens today. It's a long, long list of things the Ravens did to find ways to lose. They worked overtime to lose this game. Not sure about that, they had a better offensive line for sure, even with 3rd string rookie tackles playing and losing 2 of their 3 tight ends during the game... Coaching lost this game, 100+ yard rusher and receiver, you don't lose those types of games unless the coach makes a dumb call; which Harbs did... Shame too, this game might be the difference between a 500 record or below... Not sure when the next win will come... Hey maybe if they pull Reynolds off the practice squad he will be the game breaker this team needs...
