As Jason La Canfora explained on Wednesday’s Pick Six Podcast — we do this thing DAILY and it’s loaded with news and notes and fun takes and colorful personalities and you should this is Flacco’s swan song no matter how it plays out.

“Here in Baltimore, they’ve had no passing game really since they won the Super Bowl. And Joe has been on the decline, numbers-wise and health-wise,” La Canfora explained. “He’s the healthiest he’s been in a long time. And that will bode well for him, and that will bode well for them. But in the end, if he has a nice, decent season, it just bodes well for a trade. I don’t see them paying Joe Flacco another $25 million next year and having him count another $27 million against their cap.”

This is certainly good news.

A lot can happen in a year. Who knows ? We dont even know whatll happen tomorrow.

Regardless , Im going to enjoy this newer, younger team and look forward to a positive next couple of years. Its all we got !

Honestly if the O is exciting, I'll be excited. So tired of stagnant offenses. Kubiak was the last offense that was fun to watch.

Ha, never would have happened and looking how long Kubiak's tenure lasted in Denver, we'd be looking for a new coach again.

I've seen tape of Flacco and Jackson now. Flacco is way ahead of where Jackson is which is to be expected at this time.

Jackson always throws a wobbly pass whereas nearly all of Flacco's are really beautiful spirals and really impressive to watch.

FWIW I think Joe is really 'up' for this year. If he does well, what I can see happening is trading Joe to another team after the upcoming season provided he redeems himself, if only to get out of the cap hit. If he has an excellent season, trading him ought to be easy.

If he's traded, won't the new team absorb his salary, or would that have to be negotiated?

They don't seem to care about dead money. Keep in mind, if he plays well and they don't see any progress in Jackson no way they get rid Joe.

They will of course, rework his deal to lower his cap number for one more season. Again, if he plays well and Jackson confinues to struggle in camp & practices....

He and his wife are happy to live here, I doubt they up root what, 5 kids, to move somewhere else, especially a crappy team. It is not as if he needs money nor a championship ring.

I don't think Joe has any guaranteed money past this season. Saw it somewhere but can't remember where. Anybody know?

If he does well keeping him for one more year won't be a problem.

Not so sure he's in this just for the money. After he got his first big contract he went to a McDonald's for a burger.

Now, I think his pride has been pricked by drafting Lamar. That combined with what we all hope are better receivers has him up.

Good year or not, no team is going to pay Flacco $25 million after watching what he did to the Ravens. The only reason that they took Lamar in the 1st was to light a big fire under Joe's rear end. I think next year, Joe will be worth around 10-15 million a year. And, Lamar Jackson ain't gonna cut it- he's not the answer.

I would just like to know who on this team was the main advocate for Jackson.
