papasmurfbell Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Why did he sign so cheap? I wonder if he wanted out of town for personal reasons. Quote
oldno82 Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Geez...he settled for chump change in today's NFL. I don't get it. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 He was offered a contract in December and maybe he felt embarrassed? Quote
tsylvester Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Wow, and the Ravens didn't want to match or he didn't want to play here? Things are really strange now.. Quote
tsylvester Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Throw that in with Smith reportedly not only turning down the Ravens offer, but also making a new offer to them which was accepted only to then change the offer HE, Smith, just made a day before.. if at all true, things are bonkers Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 I am of the mind Bozeman wants out of bmore. The question is why? Quote
tsylvester Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Maybe he just didn't like the area, or burned his bridge with Decosta when he turned down their offer in December, thinking he could get more in the offseason.. Quote
oldno82 Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 The bizarre thing is he was so heavily involved in the community. Something must have happened during negotiations that turned him way off. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 I am curious if he doesn't like the coaching staff. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 Most fans hate Greg Roman, so why not? Quote
cravnravn Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Jesus, that's chump change. Guess the FO didn't have any interest in Bozeman. Tampa gave Jensen 3 yr 39 mil Quote

papasmurfbell Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 He has driven off players in the past. Why not look at that as an option now? Quote
GrubberRaven Posted March 22, 2022 Author Posted March 22, 2022 People driven off in the past had big personalities. Bozeman was not one of them. He was offered a deal in December. and turned it down. Those are the only facts we know and the rest is assumption. Quote

By using players are multiple positions, it creates or allows a player to chose which one pays more, or would. Bozeman thought he deserved more money because he played guard & center. It backed fired on him and soured the Ravens on him. It still seems odd that they, reportedly, would not try to keep him for year. He is better than Merkari and Merkari is better at being a guard, at this time at least. Now they are down one lineman who can play either guard or center. So I guess it is draft one in the first 4 rounds... Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 I go center in the 2nd or 3rd. Ultimately I expected Bozeman to leave so my idea hasn't changed at all. Btw Z signed 3 yr for 42 mil with minny. If the deal he had here was bad tgat one is worse. The vikes just love inking bad contracts. Quote
tsylvester Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Money is pretty even now what is the language? After visiting with the Vikings on Monday, Smith has agreed to a three-year, $42 million deal that’s worth up to $47 million, according to multiple reports. So, Smith goes from making $8.75 million a year to $14 million. And he gets to face his former team in the Packers two times a year. Quote
oldno82 Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Sounds like he got a better deal with the Vikes. I don't know if he's still worth 14/year. Pretty risky for Minnesota. We shall see. Quote

Maybe there is language in there covering his back that the Vikes left out... Quote

I though Mekari was our future RT until they signed Moses. Quote
