cravnravn Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 We are going to need mad, mad pass rush to make up for our lack of CB coverage.. we have 5 edge rushers now, hopefully they bring the heat. 1 Quote
GrubberRaven Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 That's $6 mil including incentives...I think its around 1.5 base Quote
tsylvester Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Yep, they have to put the carrots in front of the stick Quote
oldno82 Posted August 21, 2023 Author Posted August 21, 2023 Glad to hear it's incentive laden. Hope he does well here. And can stay healthy. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 A pretty nice read. Can't say I don't agree https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-5-thoughts-ravens-preseason-defeat-commanders-zay-flowers-left-guard-battle The Zay Show: Flowers ran just four routes in the game but forced two missed tackles and found the end zone, displaying an uncanny shiftiness. • Has the left guard battle come to an end? Late-round pick Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu appears to be a developmental prospect at this point, whereas John Simpson has looked solid. • What to make of David Ojabo: A lone quarterback pressure across 21 pass-rushing snaps is all Ojabo has to show for himself this preseason. oldno82 Posted August 23, 2023 Author Posted August 23, 2023 Seems spot on to me too. Really need to see more from Ojabo and Oweh Saturday night. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 This year & the next we will see if Eric has found success or failure in his past few drafts... Quote
oldno82 Posted August 24, 2023 Author Posted August 24, 2023 Gee some good news on the injury front...reinforcements have arrived: https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/rock-ya-sin-arthur-maulet-ravens-practice-cornerback-healthier Quote
tsylvester Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 More good news, skip the blah blah blah to get to this; Dobbins and Bateman both indicated positive progress from injuries. Dobbins said he's now 100% after a devastating left knee injury two years ago, and Bateman estimated he's "99%" back from a left foot injury that sidelined him for the final nine games last season......."I do think that healthy, I can be one of the top backs in the league," Dobbins said. "That flashes sometimes, but I just got to prove it and I am going to prove it one day. One day it will happen."..... "My teammates still believe in me," said Bateman, who is entering his third season. "They know my capabilities, they know what I can do. I've done it before. I do it in practice. It just sucks that the injuries have been in the way for me to prove it to you all and everybody else. Hopefully, the third time is the charm in Charm City. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38246527/jk-dobbins-rashod-bateman-good-spot-ravens Quote
oldno82 Posted August 24, 2023 Author Posted August 24, 2023 Things are definitely looking up and I hope it continues!! 1 Quote
tsylvester Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Cuts so far https://www.si.com/nfl/ravens/news/baltimore-ravens-training-camp-roster-cuts-tracker Quote
oldno82 Posted August 29, 2023 Author Posted August 29, 2023 Sun predicts Josh Ross will wind up on the practice squad. I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow. Quote
oldno82 Posted August 29, 2023 Author Posted August 29, 2023 So I guess Keaton Mitchell makes it. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Proche gone as well, Treadwell to the ps squad Quote
oldno82 Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 I guess Wallace beat out Treadwell. Proche had his chances here but he actually seemed to decline as time has gone on. Too many drops. Too few, if any, big plays. Quote
oldno82 Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 Cutting Mustipher was somewhat surprising. Who is the backup center? Quote
tsylvester Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Mekari is going to be the Leatherman of lineman I guess. Urban, a human field goal blocker, I was a bit surprised there, keeping only 2 qbs, granted one will be added to the ps squad. Ross got released, I hope he lands on the ps squad, he proved last year, prior to injury, that he can play. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Guys, I would highly suggest listening to The Vault podcast. I found it as a great alternative to killing my twitter account, but they tend to round up the legit sources and go in depth on everything Ravens. I bring this up because people like Urban are part of a "handshake group" so with guys the team really want to keep but need to go on IR, they'll be added to the initial 53 and vested veterans like Urban/Seymour come back once they're moved. It's a great podcast. 1 Quote
oldno82 Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 Thanks for the rip, Grubber. I’ll check it out. I also read that Urban will be back on the 53. Ross is going to the practice squad I believe. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Interesting times for this team, for sure. Curious to see how we'll pan out after 17 weeks. Quote
oldno82 Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 Hard to predict the final standings for AFC North. Too many really good or potentially really good teams. I'm just hoping for an exciting, entertaining season with a lack of injuries and with us making the playoffs and the offense looking potent and the defense remaining competent. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Per BR, the ps as it stands now QB Anthony Brown; RB Owen Wright; FB/TE Ben Mason; WRs Sean Ryan, Laquon Treadwell; TE Travis Vokolek; OL Tashawn Manning, TyKeem Doss; DL Rayshad Nichols; OLB Jeremiah Moon; ILB Josh Ross; DB Jeremy Lucien Quote
