colincac Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Really revamping the front-line with versatile players who were former studs. Love the work up there. Focus on the line and the linebackers don't matter. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-ravens-looking-closely-at-marcus-spears-sources-say-20130315,0,7183234.story @JasonLaCanfora: It's a 2ys, $3.55M deal for Marcus Spears and the Ravens Another great contract. Keep it up Oz.
colincac Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 This has to be a "Right Price" deal.Boldin isn't taking his physical till next week so we're actually forced to wait a bit on some signings. I think that is for the better though.
OutsideRzAcE Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Another DE...isn't that what Canti is? What are we going 4-3 because we don't have enough linebackers?
colincac Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 Another DE...isn't that what Canti is? What are we going 4-3 because we don't have enough linebackers?Don't jump to that. Depth is always a great thing on the D-Line, and last year we were really lacking. Canty is a 3/4 DE who can play DT in a pass-rushing situation and Spears is simply a DE. We were awful against the run last year and need depth. Maybe this signals Ngata back to NT and Cody as his backup a bit more though.
papasmurfbell Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Remember when Dallas drafted him and he was such a huge deal?
vmax Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Ozzie might be trying to beef up the line and add some depth in free agency so he won't have to worry about it in the draft. He can focus on LB and safetyin the draft....and an LT ya think!?!
oldno82 Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I read that too but I can't imagine us being able to fit him under the cap.
cravnravn Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Speaking of that, anyone know our latest CAP #'s?
colincac Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 Dumervil is going to be getting $7 Million or so a year in this market, and might be willing to take $6 to come to a team like the Ravens, so I wouldn't rule it out yet. Key for us is finalizing the Anquan deal and freeing up his salary. According to this http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/cap-hit/ (which has Boldin's salary gone) we've got 11 Million in room.
oldno82 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 11 million - 6 million (assuming he'd take that) = 5 million under. That ain't much.
vmax Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Dummbyville did nothing against the Ravens in the playoffs. Let's pass on him.
papasmurfbell Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 He does enough in other games. But they still can't afford him
cravnravn Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Dummbyville did nothing against the Ravens in the playoffs. Let's pass on him. NOBODY did anything against the Ravens in the playoffs.
