Bye Lamar. He is 1-3 in the playoffs and didn't bother to travel with the team for their playoff game. Maybe help guide the starting quarterback in his place, talk him up, be a leader. But, he wants to be the highest paid QB in the league. Maybe when he puts up the numbers, wins, accuracy, and reliability as Mahomes or Allen. Hell, Joe Burrow has more playoff wins.4 points

This time of year makes me sad. I really miss the drive up to McDaniel College to watch training camp practices and grabbing lunch with you guys afterward as we discuss what we saw. Good times gone by.3 points

All I can keep thinking is: "I hope we can keep him here". This is a guy you can build a defense around that will last years.3 points

He can ctach passes from Lamar all he wants, in the off season. But when the season starts, he can catch fish in the Seattle fish markets..3 points

What Grub said, honestly, JLC has been wrong more than weather forecasters. How he still has a job in radio is beyond me. As for you being right papa, Bravo, but when other fans are right and you are wrong, old buddy, you don't give them props either. In the end, we are fans, know nothing compared to coaches or execs on a team no matter how long we spend on the net.2 points

Agreed the hangover extends into London or the team consumes some bad fish and chips . Either way, we don’t show up but even if we miraculously make it close, bad Lamar shows up, Harbaugh easily gets out coached by Vrabel, and we come home 3-3. Oh and Harbaugh throws another coach or player under the bus and explains how they’ll look at the film and get better. Book it !2 points

It is far worse than I even thought. I have been going back and forth with a dumbass. He thinks turdy is a great coach. I said he has been along for the ride and anything good that has happened to this team has been done despite him. So onto the research.2 points

Could be a reality check for him. If we end up with two 1sts, atleast we may not be in cap hell for the foreseeable future2 points

This team is fizzling; reminds me of the end of the Billick era in circa 2006-7. The message is stale, there's little team character, chemistry and or substance. I think the right package - coach, OC & QB - can and should improve this teams lot. We might slide a year (2 yrs max), but Id rather do that then watch a very slow, painful bleed job.2 points

This line is actually better, much better than they played yesterday. They just had a very bad game, injuries caught up to them. We knee the rookie mountain would struggle with fast, small defensive ends. A good coach sees this and adjusts, and Roman did not adjust. Even the receivers are good enough, but using them properly, using routes designed to beat zones, get people open is the key. Roman does none of these things. As I said, this offense has gotten worse as the season has progressed, it is not as if the defenses have gotten better, quite the opposite in fact. Yes, the evidence is clear, even Harbs, the Biscuit have to see it, Roman has to go. Defenses are keeping their safeties with in 15 yards of the los, linebackers within 8. That makes it very difficult to run consistently. Before yesterday they would have to blitz to beat this offensive line, even then, the pass blocking held. The issue with the passing game was either poor route combos, or a qb who could not throw on time because he was confused, or could not throw accurately, leaving no yak. We saw proof of that at times yesterday. Huntley got the ball out quickly, timely, and accurately to provide yak. Is he the end all, certainly not. But he deserves a chance to show that this offense can score. You look at other games, Goff for crying out loud put up yards and points. Offenses see safeties 15 yards deep, linebackers 10, making it easier to not just run the ball, but have space for underneath routes, for yak. So that when there is a 5 yard pass, the receiver doesn't have 5 guys tackling him right away. The line will be fine, but they need help getting those back 7 to back off, it's all Roman.2 points

For whatever reason, we don’t play well against Jax- cant get that monkey off our backs. The D laid an egg in the 4th Q but it shouldn’t have come down to that. We should have been up 14-0 instead of 6-0 then let a weaker opponent stick around and come back. I think it’s safe to say we’ve seen Lamar’s ceiling. This team has a dysfunctional offense and has for the past four years. There’s no way we offer him a long term deal. This team in its current form has no chance to advance in the playoffs, even IF it makes it that far. And that stinks. We need to build the rest of the offense around the QB and prepare for a legit franchise QB, maybe in 23; much more likely in 24. Until we get that, we’re going to see exactly what we saw today against the bad teams and big time struggle against the winning teams. My two cents…2 points

I still have a football from the Denver playoff game Femi tossed to me. Funny story; A friend had an extra ticket, his wife couldn't make so he, I and his 8 year old son went. At half time, I head up to get a hot cocoa, Femi, who had broken his foot earlier in the season, was in line in front of me. We started up a conversation about the game, how well it was going. Then I said with a smirk, half joking; hey, if you get a chance toss me a ball, I'm sitting right behind the bench. He laughed, played along and said sure. Late in the 4th with game out of hand, Femi came within ear shot. I yelled to him, there was a ball under the bench right behind him. He picks it up and tosses it to me...2 points

Huntley should be the starter. Sit Jackson let him heal till the contract or trade him for picks. Papa has been right about harbaugh all along. He’s a motivational speaker at best and has very little football savy whatsoever. IMHO I’m not reacting to the game outcome either. It has been obvious to me for years.2 points

Why doest every parking lot in this country have solar panels in them that we park under. I just recently saw a vid on a technology they are about to use in the UK. They are going to add little vertical wind turbines to the light poles on the highways and as cars go by the wind off them turn the turbine. That is in addition to a windy day. Each one would power a few houses for a yr by the estimates. We have a lot of highway miles with probably millions of lights on them,2 points

Like the quarterback that sets a franchise up for 5+ years of success or turmoil for 5 years. A new head coach, all new assistants, training staff, in game adjustments, clock management, could set this team up or destroy it. When Billick was fired, the same "fear", consternation, gripped players, fans alike. While Harbs had his issues, a bottomless pit of a dog house, in game management, he also brought us what 6, 7 division titles, and couple of conference championship games, several ending in heartbreaking fashion, two missed field goals, a dropped/fumbled touchdown/two point conversion. A miraculous last second 70+ yard bomb to win and go to a Super Bowl, which they won, despite a huge power "failure" just after half time. Yes, Harbs had his issues, most if not all coaches do, but hopefully the next head coach is at least as winning as Harbs.1 point

Guards, Bullock and Jones, already on the team, question marks? Sure, but all indications are they can be really good. Why neither has seen the field is anyone's guess. Same reason maybe why Cleveland, who has shown he can be a real good guard & or center; Harbs/oc coach. Smith at mlb may be slowing but he still one of the better ones. Weak side backer yes, maybe Buchanan, but Im not sold on him. Still, the draft can help there. Left tackle, draft, some good ones in this comimg draft lower in the round, even better ones in the 27 draft which is expected to be one of the best drafts in a while. You forget, this same team, minus a player or two, had one of the top offenses in the league last year. The only major change was at guard, one guard spot. Wven with the weak play of Faalele, I might add. The biggest issue I surmise is the ol coach. Last year he said he wouldnt change much when he took over early in the season. But this year clearly he has changed something because it is no longer a top running line, nor pass protecting. The offense as a result, no longer tops in the league. Sure, the injury to Lamar missing 3 games didnt help. But aside from the Bills game, they cant or haven't run consistently nor extended drives. Remember last yesr they lead the league in 90+ yard drives. So not so far away, change the ol coach1 point

Agree about Rush. I'm pulling for him. Yeah, I saw the Starks /Mosley article. Actually, I'm hoping Starks is better than Mosely.1 point

I see many talking heads calling out the refs for some calls. One comes to mind, they claim holding on Gisike on the 2 pt try. But as Bart Scott points out, Gisikie was trying to draw a foul, stuck his arm between the arms of the defender, then flailing and falling to the ground. No, the penalty should have been on him for unsportsmanlike.. Sure, Burrow got hit in the face mask, but did you notice the holding be done to that defender? No call there either. Or how about, on the same play, the hands to the face being done to VanNoy? All 3 penalties, 2 on the Bengals, one on the Ravens, happened right in front of the flag happy official, but he called none of them. I could point out others on the Bengals defense for holding in the secondary, or illegal contact on them, but we're not called. Yes, sure, Cinci only had 3 penalties, yes, sure, believe what you want. We have a great quarterback now, running, passing, buying time and weapons who know how to get open. Now to fix the pass defense as so many players said in the locker ooh after the game.1 point

Obj is questionable, Simpson and Harrison are out, other than that everyone else is healthy including Stanley. Special teams have been an issue all season, a couple of blocked field goals, a few big returns, don't get me started on the fair catch nor the onside kick... One way for a bad team to best a good one is via Special teams, the other, turnovers. The only reason that this game should be close is because it has not started yet....1 point

fwiw --Texans Devin Singletary bludgeoned the Cinci D for 150 yards-30 carries/5 yards/ea. if we don't pound the rock (>150 yards), we have little chance in this game.1 point

I thought for the limited snaps that Van Noy played extremely well With him and the way Clowney is playing, like a man possessed, I think the pass rush is going to be very good as we move forward. Get a few guys back in the secondary and look out...1 point

I've been thinking about what made this game end so badly for the Ravens. I think it comes down to the facts that: 1) There are so many injuries that eventually they just wore out. 2) The first two drives were brilliantly called by Monken. But, the offensive play calling in the late game left a lot to be desired. With JK, Justice, and Gus out there were too many conservative play calls in having Gordon and Drake try to run down the clock. They probably should have leaned a little more on the pass. I know they were trying to run down the clock, but it was obvious after Gus went down that we had no rushing attack to do that. Short quick passes would have been better play calls. 3) We forget that we all knew there would be bumps in the road for the offense until they got used to Monken's system. Hopefully this was just a learning bump for the team and for Todd. 4) The defense played amazingly well considering the secondary injuries. They'll have to play that way again against the Browns next week. All that said, we have to get some bodies back. We need both Gus and Hill for the ground game to get going. The O-line's injuries were exposed by Indy's speed rushers. I think we need Linderbaum back the most but we do miss Stanley's pass blocking. Right now I am feeling very pessimistic about our chances with the Browns unless we can get at least some of our prime time guys back to playing. I'm also concerned about how this tough loss might affect the team's overall spirit and confidence. Harbs and the other coaches will have their hands full with that this week.1 point

Definitely nicely done by Brown and the timing ain't bad either---right before the playoff game.1 point

Marcus Peters clearly had too much to eat over the holiday, took away his speed and his mind on how to cover. 3rd and 20, under 2 mins left, game on the line and they get the first down. That says it all...1 point

https://russellstreetreport.com/2018/01/12/lombardis-way/ravens-empire/ It was a happy ending that evening, but the Super Bowl 47 win, set in motion a gradual decaying of a winning franchise.
