  1. Yawn - slow news day after Christmas I suppose. I'd focus more on game planning and decision making - aka eschewed penalty against Indy on Saturday- than a 3 hour change in game time. Maybe think about where this team was last January and where it might be this January.
  2. The beat goes on eh .....? With the extra spot, sign Harrison ? Could use an extra pass rusher
  3. Spen, like yourself, I had us at 8-8 or 7-9. So, we overachieved and are very fortunate to have had a winning season. Given the mediocre talent and the lack of playmakers, not to mention the unprecedented number of injuries, it's a miracle we've come this far. If we are fortunate enough to get in the playoffs, I'm not expecting much but just watching this team and seeing what can happen without any stars or elite players. Just a team. For now, I'll kick back and enjoy one more game and who knows maybe wel'll punch out ticket to the playoffs.
  4. Yep, ugly win, nasty weather and lots of empty seats - not exactly playoff atmosphere - especially driving 4 hours to the game. But we got us a ugly W and who knows where this leads - this season or next ? Here's the thing - we've got a piecemeal OL, no legit WRs or at least playmakers, decent TEs, serviceable but not great RBs and a QB who is putting up average numbers with little supporting cast. Imagine Joe with the Steelers weapons. Give Joe and healthy line, a stud back and cadre of receivers, then what ? Here's the thing no 2- why is it the Stteelers get their asses handed to em by Jac at Heinz, lose to the Bears, squeak by and win a cone from behind at Indy, and everyiones posture including the media is " well the Steelers got the W, or they just play down do the competition, or good teams just find ways to W even when they play bad" Why does everyone, including this board and the media hold us to a different standard ? Why are we bums when we eke out a victory against a woeful Colts team but the Steelers who were way luckier than us to win are somehow okay and get a mulligan. How does that work; anyone got an answer ? .
  5. That is what I'm talking about !!!

    True

    That would be interesting.
  7. Papa, still probably our best wins this year.
  8. The two signature wins in my mind - Lions at home and Raiders in the black hole.
  9. Max, its a shame about the Browns. Having been born/growing up in Cleveland (later moving to Bmore in late 60s), I grew up watching Jim Brown - arguably the best running back of all time. I still have memories - distant as they are - of Brown running through, over around and past entire team's Ds. The Browns had a great organization and have been suffering for a long time. Maybe this new FO guy from KC will turn their fate around and help improve the Browns and AFC North. Even though my allegiance was and has always been withe the Colts/Ravens, it does pain me to watch the Browns suffer over thew years. All kidding aside, Cleveland is a good sports town and like Baltimore just wants a winning team they can get behind. Mbut s
  10. Ill be there Saturday - corner end zone seats.
  11. Max, blew the score big time but now get to see a meaningful game next Saturday at M&T vs Indy.
  12. Well, Max, gird your loins
  13. Max, you read my mind. The tea leaves tell me the Browns are winning. Here's why: The team is hung over from the Stealers game. They shot their collective wad and will come out flat as a pancake in Cleveland. The Browns are hungry and dying for a W; its their Super Bowl. They've blown numerous close games; should have beaten Green Bay last weekend. Practically beat the Stealers in week 1. They've been this close to getting over the hump all season. They do it Sunday. Offensively, Gordon poses a nightmarish matchup on our secondary. He'll put up huge numbers. Crowell will have 1 -2 long runs. QB Kizer is over due for a winning performance. Defensively, they can match up with anybody and play everyone tough. I've seen this movie before, Browns win by a TD, maybe more. If we thought the fans and media was screaming on Monday (after Stealers game), just wait until Sunday night/ Monday AM. We'll all be talking draft again and 8-8 record stuff. My two cents.....
  14. I wouldn't sell em - Gordon, Coleman, Njoku, Crowell - short. Gordon could go off - he's certainly seen the blueprint. After a blown game and likely hangover, we will likely get "all we can handle" on Sunday. Don't be surprised with a Browns W.
  15. All good points. Jefferson and Carr give me the shakes. I would imagine the Browns - Gordon et al- are licking their chops right now. I would be. We need to build the secondary around Humphrey and the youngsters. Maybe draft another saefrty and or FA in the offseason. For what's it worth, we came within a whisker of beating the Stealers in their house. We were a Maclin inbound reception away from a Tucker FG attempt and game winner. For my money, Pittsburgh is going to run the table and wrap up the SB, barring an injury to one of their Bs. And we played them to a 1 Pt game. And that's what you call the Mediocre Football League MFL.
  16. Max, I love your optimism but not seeing it . Reading the tea leaves, I just cant forsee a win here, Too may obstacles - the 3 Bs, Heinz Field, no Jimmy Smith, etc. Plus, the Steelers are jacked by this Shazier injury - the whole team appears ready to ruin through a brick wall on Sunday night ! It reminds of a few years ago when Torrey Smith lost him brother in a fatal accident, only for Tiorrey to play the same or next day. The team was pumped and it helped will the team to a W in the burg. I see the exact same thing tomorrow night. But Max, I love your optimism and hope you are right. But I’ll tell you what - if we win, Ill get you a ticket to the next home game - i think it’s Indy - and bring it to you in person.
  17. Max, Ray makes some poignant remarks about the game and where it's headed. My comment is about "beyond and bigger" than the game.
  18. Not going to game but will watch on the big screen. Should be a slobberknocker. Good luck to your Steelers.
  19. This !

  22. Oh, today's offense was better than watching paint dry
  23. Digging the early Christmas gift; take a 24 point win anytime. Sweet W Tough break w Jimmy
  24. Watching the Ravens offense or the paint dry ? It's a coin toss
