Hilarious! Watched this about five times. I'd be willing to think DirecTV will give you just about anything you ask for, considering the acquisition. Give it a few weeks and find something else to complain about and get free/reduced.

I think Mellette struggling to heal was exactly what this guy needed; there just wouldn't have been room for him otherwise on the roster or the PS. I think improving his speed is what will be his key, because his primary competition for the #6 spot is Thompson.

I don't really think it matters whether it's an A's thing or otherwise. Whether this is an isolated issue or something new in his personality, the response by the team should be harsh and firm. I can't really see an instance where anything the A's could do would justify this behavior.

This post has nothing to do with the religious aspects of that video, but is that guy even listening to what he's saying? He just about outright stated at the end the question of whether to believe fact or to believe faith. Mind-numbing.

McShay is a toolbag. And you guys are both right, by the way. Just kind of arguing two different things. Yes, the NCAA and NFL are screwing them sideways ten times over, and yes, they aren't really helping themselves either. It's a wildly unorganized and (apparently) uneducated field of games. It's a shame. The issue at hand is the fact that someone like McShay thinks he's in the right by having something to say about it.

Why wouldn't he be able to go anymore? Sure he's getting old, but part of what has to be considered about his game last year was that the Panthers finally had capably developed receivers to go with him for the first time since Mushin Muhammad.

Are you comfortable with being a bigoted and outdated troll? I'd also love to know where your assessment of him as "self-promoting" came from considering he's done next to no promotion for himself (or his cause) to speak of. Do I want to see PDA on a sports broadcast? No. Not between anyone. The difference between a modern and educated person and yourself lies in this example: if it were two women kissing after one was drafted, you'd probably be hooting and hollering about how great it was. That difference is purely homophobic and just as similarly dehumanizing as racism. Hint: even at best, if you're seeking to keep the views or feelings of someone else that you disagree with (two men kissing, for example), it might behoove you to follow that same practice yourself.

Every team has definite needs on draft day every year. The point is that draft day is not the only (or necessarily the best) way to fill those needs, especially since the needs of the team might change by the time those players have developed. One draft weekend does not make a season, and I know you know that.

Just read this a few minutes ago and couldn't agree more. I'm not against the Kipers and McShays of the world (okay, I'm against McShay because he's a jerk), but I don't think he had any place in chastising agents or anyone else for misleading a college player. I like to think that the way Kiper started it--really just analyzing college players as thoroughly as possible and ranking them based on that--at heart was an honest thing to do. But it really feels like, since the draft became so publicized, and since the McShay, Mayock, etc. types got into the game, a really slimy and dishonest world.

Norwood is one of my favorite receivers. He's kind of like a taller Mason; great slot guy with great hands and really good route awareness.
