  1. Doesn't really even look like a kick. And more importantly, if Ngata gets four games for that, Meriweather's getting three lifetime bans.
  2. Rough. He certainly has a career's worth of injury history before his career has really begun. I think we'll have a hard time without him in the lineup as much as anything else, and I've gotta think he'll have a hard time being the player defensively that he was before these knees.
  3. Especially for a book, I've gotta think that there's more drama involved in Bisciotti's account and in the prose than what really happened.
  4. Agreed. I don't think anyone outside of Park Avenue is happy about it.
  5. It wasn't that short of a week...you guys had one day more than you'll have in just over two weeks in Baltimore. That being said, it definitely looked vanilla of course, but vanilla defense is still defense. There wasn't much of it last night.
  6. I'm not sure fathead even does window decals. I don't see much online that's anything but full color, but my best suggestion would be to go to vistaprint or a similar business vendor that handles custom orders for small businesses (business cards, signs, window decals) and see whether they'd do something for you. Cool sounding idea!
  7. Really, really, really fun preseason game to watch.
  8. As much as I hate to agree with Crav , he's right. Upon leaving Gibbs and becoming a team owner, Stewart necessarily calmed down and took a more professional approach to things. His "hotheadedness" also never really came into physical fruition as some have suggested, and certainly not compared to a lot of other drivers (see: Harvick, Newman, Busch). He was the inappropriate snide remark sort of fellow. That being said, I've heard the same things about him going into seclusion, which is really what I had expected after hearing his initial reactions to the accident. It's really sad, and I feel badly for the guy. I think that if he's coming back at all this season, it'll be next week at Atlanta (Bass Pro is headquartered there). If he doesn't race there, he won't be back in a car until Daytona, if at all.
  9. I've always enjoyed the people watching aspect of coffee shops, because I'm a creep etc. I've been sitting in a Dunkin' on York Rd. since this morning catching up on two wildly procrastinated research papers, and this older guy has been on the other side of the store since I've been here. He has probably talked to every single customer who has come in, and has had a personal story or anecdote for every one of them. He sounds exactly like Pat Summerall, and it's fantastic. I think I'm gonna write a paper about him.
  10. http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/gerard_way_releases_no_shows_video Fanboying pretty hard.
  11. Hilarious. Makes me feel a lot better about our offseason.
  12. I think we should have our absolute best when we're playing a team's #5 starter, though. We don't do so well against them.
  13. Bear in mind that you'd be hard-pressed to find former practice squad receivers looking like stars these days at all. It's just too difficult a position.
  14. Anyone in the area (especially north side near Daytona) definitely refers to the east or west side of I-4, which makes perfect sense given the northeast-southwest route. If he lived in Tampa and/or the route weren't marked east-west, it wouldn't be an issue.
  15. Just an observation...anyone else feel like Brown has looked quite a bit better than Mosley in both games so far?
  16. Dunno if you guys had seen this the other day: http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/12/buck-showalter-wants-to-give-derek-jeter-a-picture-of-the-jeffrey-maier-home-run-as-a-retirement-gift/
  17. I also don't think that a sinkhole less than a quarter of a mile away from a landfill and a quarry should surprise anyone. Much less that it was caused by a water main break.
  18. I wasn't in last year's, so this is the message I received:
  19. I just think Buck is so set on keeping his lineup the way he has it set and plugging replacements in at those spots where necessary. I don't blame him, but Davis just isn't a #2, even when hitting well. Agreed on not sitting him, though.
  20. That second part is excellent.
  21. Accidents and things like that happen. The assessment of his reputation shouldn't be coming from the family of an injured or killed driver, though. He is an emotional, over-the-top jerk. There's no doubt about that. But he's also an extremely nice and caring guy (you can ask a multitude of other drivers and members of the NASCAR circuit) in a world where there aren't too many of those. That being said, I don't think that his reputation bears evidence to the situation.
  22. Both in taking it and in reflecting upon it now, there is nothing leftist nor revisionist about the APUSH exam. The meddling CWA's mention in the article explains a lot.
  23. I think the justifiable part was the confrontation. The unjustifiable part is everything that happened after. I also disagree about the police state mentality. Everything that is happening these days is not new. There is not an oncoming police brutality like never seen before. How it is today is how it has always been, but the emergence of the cell phone camera, constant news reporting, and places like YouTube "educating" us half-assedly on our rights versus officers. I don't think that things have gotten worse; I just think both sides are coming to a better understanding about how often it happens and why it happens, without answers as to stopping it effectively.
