  2. I don't think anyone has an argument there. I would also be somewhat surprised if he manages to get that $10m out of them.
  3. I can't even begin to figure out where you pulled that wonderful information from.
  4. All of the previous posts being considered, I'm not against wishing someone would twist Roethlisberger's leg a different direction. And I really do like Guthrie and I'm glad he found continued success, considering that there was a period of time when he was the only reliable thing we had on the mound. His apology regarding the shirt was also one of the most sincere ones I've heard in awhile.
  5. I think Markakis is worth more to us than to most any other team. That's the difference. He might not be the fastest guy anymore, but he's still an above-average fielder with a great arm. The power is gone but he's still a reliable hitter. Those are things that you pay for. Not for $15m per year, but they are valuable nonetheless.
  6. So our biggest free agents are as follows: Cruz, Miller, Markakis, Hundley, Young, and probably Johnson. Which should we try to keep, and for how long? Cruz is probably pigeonholed to the AL given that he's made himself a clear DH. I can imagine him wanting four years and not getting it here. Miller is probably the most valuable asset of the bunch. He could be paid/played as a closer for likely ten teams off the top of my head. Markakis wasn't going to be paid $15m again next season. I don't think he's going anywhere, but that pay cut will be huge. Hundley's probably the second or third option for catchers on the market this offseason, and I would think someone would find him more valuable than the Orioles with Wieters on the way back. Young, in my opinion, is the second most valuable piece after Miller. He's clearly identified himself at this point as a role player, but those are increasingly important pieces these days. Johnson, if not finished, is probably awfully close. Any other thoughts?
  7. It was a penalty. Take off the purple shades, folks.
  8. The long throw was an easy touchdown if not underthrown. Glad we got the penalty call.
  9. 8:26 officially http://www.nfl.com/liveupdate/gamecenter/56231/GB_Gamebook.pdf
  10. I'd like to make a trade.
  11. It was the whole team. Meanwhile, Gumbel has called Tucker "Gano" twice.
  12. CBS, specifically Gumbel and Green, is so god-blessedly awful.
  13. I know exactly where you are...that's awesome.
  14. The money is soon to evaporate from college football, so I'm not sure why anyone would willingly leave the NFL's fat pockets for it.
  15. Whaaaat? I lived right down the street for a year. That's so cool.

    weird...

I saw the term used once while reading a book (don't remember what it was). Freaked me out, too.
  17. That article is almost ten months old.
  18. I got to see Redzone for the first time on Sunday. I was enthralled and it was magical.
  19. In all honesty, the conviction and suspension probably did violate the terms of his contract. The Ravens just aren't a team that seeks to get money back, it seems.
  20. I guess OJ was innocent too, right? PS: heard a terrible but funny joke from Christopher Titus the other day: "we thought OJ was a fluke, but it turned out he was a trendsetter!"
  21. Glad you mentioned that. It entirely proves his motives (especially the Ozzie slide-by) and provides enough evidence by itself that he wasn't truthful. Anyone taking what he or anyone else says at face value at this point doesn't really understand how the human mind works and how these big corporations exist. It is fine and fair to want this to be over, but only a fool disregards continually being lied to to fulfill that purpose.
  22. Putting the negative to rest means accepting that it is okay for you to be lied to. I don't accept that. I've watched the press conference three times and sought to glean from Steve any instances in his speech or body language where I felt like he was lying (he's not the best public speaker), and I still haven't come to much of a conclusion. That being said, there are a few facts, specifically the texts to Rice, where I think he was being honest and forthcoming, if only because it was an easy juxtaposition against the OTL report that didn't really mean much. I still refuse to believe that he didn't see and/or someone on the team didn't see the second tape in its entirety. I continue to feel lied to and, again, I refuse to accept that.
  23. The article LITERALLY starts off with "Seattle might be better". If you're looking for an argument, the author provided it himself...
  24. We have the most embarrassing pass defense ever.
