No way, it'll be great. I'm not saying they'll win any SBs, but the Broncos will be a very, very good team because he is there. They already have a decent and improving young defense, and it's not as if Manning ever needed any "real" offensive weapons.
-
More importantly, they stole cap space from later years in order to penalize the Cowboys and Redskins this year (and afford giving other teams extra space), which is absolutely hilarious to me.

There's no sense in searching out depth if you haven't yet acquired quality starters.

Oviedo's exactly where I was, as it turns out. My friend's apartment is on Alafaya, right across from UCF. Her family lives in Lake Mary. I would honestly give up every dime to move down there. Absolutely gorgeous.

It wasn't Shockey. Too lazy to look on PFT for it, but they already reported that it wasn't him, and that Sapp was wrong.

Not March Madness. That was the day after the game in January.. Sad and funny all at the same time, though.

So, we've lost Nakamura to the Panthers, Grubbs to the Saints, Johnson to the Chargers, and Redding to the Colts, and McClain is currently visiting the Broncos. We're rumored to be pursuing (based on what I've read here and elsewhere) Ted Ginn, Kassim Osgood, Evan Mathis, Brandon Jacobs, and a few others (e.g. Eric Winston, who I don't think we can afford). And we lost out on Eddie Royal. I know that the front office is one of the best at letting guys walk and replacing them handily, but is anyone else nervous about what's going on? I know we still have the draft, but the big cuts that were made last year didn't hurt so much because of what we had on the roster behind them. There are a lot of holes to fill as it stands. What's everyone thinking?

I'll be in Orlando next week. I'll let you know how the weather is this time of year. Good luck, too!

I'd rather have Osgood. He's the Jags' gunner, and a very good one. He's a terrible receiver, though.

Ravens Insider: 'Ray Rice Day' set for May 12 at Calvert Hall

Apologies in advance to anyone who has to go to Calvert Hall... -
When you're being pushed as hard as Biffle was, you have no choice but to get a run on the single car ahead of you sometime within a two lap period. And you don't think driving around Kenseth with that run was an option? Why? It's beyond obvious that Biffle was dragging the brake for Kenseth's benefit, for one reason or another. And the point isn't that he held up Jr., it's that he held up both of them, for Kenseth's benefit; again, for one reason or another. I have a lot of respect for Biffle and what he does with boxers and other dogs, but this was an inside job and a lie after the fact if there ever was one. I don't care about Roush or Ford one way or the other, so it's not like I'm angry to see Kenseth win (who would be?), but it's just a really sad reality that all that money and time and effort resulted in what is basically a scripted finish, written by Biffle. It's annoying and it's going to be under a lot of folks' skin for awhile.

You help until the end when you have a chance to win. If you have no intention of going for the win, get out of the way and let men settle it.

No kidding. I was talking about overnight. A race generally takes around 4 hours, in case you didn't know, "kiddo". So if they can't get the track dried by 9-10 PM (it takes 90 minutes to 2 hours to dry a track like Daytona after the rain has stopped), they can't race until the next day, because you're talking about having people who've been up since the crack of dawn operating dangerous equipment at 2 AM. That's why races that are delayed by rain are so often pushed to the next day, instead of waiting overnight. A little forethought, maybe? Tonight's race was rather anti-climatic for me. You knew Jr. had no chance when Kasey and Tony were taken out and he was surrounded by nothing but Roush and RCR cars (and Hamlin). Not sure I buy Biffle's story of not getting a run, either. I think that was his way of covering staying behind Kenseth.

Darkness isn't the problem. Having people falling asleep is the problem. That's why they don't race at night.

I don't think they're racing today. Also, RIP Chris Myers' son. I hate him, and I hate John Roberts just as much, but I was wondering why he was hosting the prerace show instead of Myers. This is why: http://agourahills.patch.com/articles/kanan-road-crash-victim-identified-as-son-of-fox-s-chris-myers

Because you have to develop quality starters before you can develop quality depth. Having a deep depth chart doesn't matter so much if what's at the top is no good; that's always the first concern.

The new TV contracts aren't going to affect the salary cap all that much. And considering the loss in value of the dollar headed our way, they'll mean even less. The Steelers are mortgaging the future. Face it.
-
Where are your sources on the $4 million? I've seen nothing reported and the only estimate is from Ed Bouchette of the PPG saying that they should be almost right at the cap after today.
-
Not really, because all he'd have to do is "transfer ownership" to a family member. That's how he got the Rams in the first place. He already owns most of Colorado professional sports, plus Arsenal soccer.

The root of this issue is that you stated that Torrey Smith isn't the #1 type of receiver, that he is a burner. In this post and since, you guys have mentioned at least three or four "types" of receivers, i.e. possession guys, burners, hybrid WRs, slot-type WRs, bigger guys, smaller guys, etc. And in this post alone, you have all those types of receivers mentioned as "#1 types". Therefore, I don't understand your conclusion as it pertains to Smith's inability to become a #1 receiver, because you've provided no other type of evidence. Even though I think he has every chance to be a superstar-type, I would have nothing against an opinion stating that Smith can never rise above the #2 WR, burner kind of player. This argument simply provides nothing to that end. This is the main issue at hand and outlines the entire circumstance of whether we even need to draft a WR, because we do have the depth.

You must be joking. And Crav, I don't argue that those bands and songs are some of the best of your era and maybe the best ever, but there is a time and place for everything. Joe Montana, Johnny U., and other great old players like them were the best of their era and maybe the best ever, but no one wants to see them play now. They're old news, and would be an embarrassment to themselves, to their contemporaries, and to what they were back in the day. This applies in every way to these old men getting on stage and generally making fools of themselves. And, for what it's worth, they are some of my favorite bands and music, too.

Flacco is good, and he is starter-worthy, but he is not elite, he is not great, and he is certainly not a top five QB. If you can sign him to something reflecting his value, then you do it. If he won't take less than a top five-type (or even top eight or nine-type) contract, you let him hit the open market in 2013 and realize his own value. There's a very solid chance that he does realize where he stands and comes back, but there's almost as good a chance of a QB-starved team giving him one of those big contracts. Either way, the Ravens make a smarter business decision. Flacco is replaceable. Will it be easy? No. But is he worth enough to this team and franchise to pay that much money? Absolutely not. He's not even the franchise's face on that side of the ball. In fact, there may be two or three players on offense more valuable than him.

...she is my new favorite person in the world.

I don't know why people still want to see these old folks play. Yeah, EVH is still amazing on a guitar, but, just, no...not as a band.
