It's time for Ray Lewis to retire.

Joe Flacco is so f*cking bad.

Check out the first name on the list here: http://en.wikipedia....eshoe_moustache Edit: Seeing Sal Fasano's name near the top of that list makes me question it altogether...

This thread is absolutely classic.

Ravens Can't Clinch (Yet), But Steelers Can
ForceEight replied to deeshopper's topic in Baltimore Ravens
That's not true. If we win out, the #1 seed is ours regardless of what the Pats and Steelers do. -
Ravens Can't Clinch (Yet), But Steelers Can

But that was five years ago, and it was the offense that looked terrible. I don't think we have a single offensive starter that we did in 2006. -
Ravens training camp might stay in Owings Mills
ForceEight replied to cravnravn's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Love you too. I'm not sure why Cass says that it's not a financial decision when it obviously is. Unless they're making this decision solely on the football idea that having an indoor facility there all the time is worth this change, I'm not sure what other motivation there could be. But I'm still in the camp that this will blow over eventually. I don't think they'll open up the castle for the public, but I don't think anyone will miss camp in the long-term. I don't think it's a good idea at all, but (Cass' comment notwithstanding) I understand why it would be done, and I'm not totally against it; I'm just not so gungho about the intangible fan connection that you guys are talking about. And, for what it's worth, I've been easily 40-50 times, and I'm only 22. -
My mother had the same issues with the house I've been living in that was just sold last month (after a year on the market). The market price versus what other houses on the street had gone for just months and years earlier was ridiculous. For a house that should have gotten maybe $300k, it took almost a year to scratch up about $180k. She bit the bullet and she knows that, but it was too much to hold onto the house anymore. Everything I've seen suggests that things will hit a huge upturn by spring. I don't know how that applies to your area. Anyway, I agree about the young backers. I don't think the defense is better by any stretch, but it's safe to say that the younger guys offer something that Ray doesn't. Once they get the things he has, i.e. experience, etc., maybe we could safely say for the first time in 15 years that the defense is better without Ray.

The dreaded vote of confidence
ForceEight replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Maryland Terrapins / NCAA
I don't argue that, but I don't necessarily blame him for what he did say, either. -
Crav, I'm a dirt poor Essex guy. I don't have the money to pull that off; I can hardly hold onto apartment at this rate, between rent and school. If I could get a solid job down there, I'd probably do it in no time, but that's the hard part. And why can't you get the ol' cabin sold? But it's definitely beautiful down there. And plenty to do...not a far distance from anywhere in Florida.

No kidding? I have a group of friends who live in Lake Mary and have batted around moving down with them.

Ravens training camp might stay in Owings Mills
ForceEight replied to cravnravn's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I'm sorry, but it's not that big of a deal. Camp became nothing but a bunch of old men standing around waiting for autographs while kids were slammed against the fences all day long. The kid zone thing didn't help that at all. I get the whole loss of a fan connection thing, but the folks being greedy in my eyes are the fans complaining, not the Ravens. There is not one meaningful reason, outside of tradition, to keep camp in Westminster. It became a huge waste of money. -

That article is just as out of touch as the author thinks Boeheim is. -
The dreaded vote of confidence

I went to Syracuse and got to meet Jim Boeheim twice. And you can Google each individual thing I stated. I will provide you with this, though: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/7296858/jim-boeheim-syracuse-orange-speaks-media-first-time-firing-bernie-fine -
The dreaded vote of confidence
ForceEight replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Maryland Terrapins / NCAA
Jim Boeheim is never going anywhere. The primary difference between him and Paterno is that Paterno controlled everything and made everyone his enemy; Syracuse has an entire array of successful sports teams and a strong-willed AD who doesn't need to can him in a power move. And, more importantly, Boeheim is a truly nice guy and has devoted his life to the school, whereas Paterno simply controlled his. More on topic, Boeheim didn't actually do anything wrong. They would also absolutely not pull back on the ACC invite for many reasons. First, things have already been signed and put into motion, so that's tons of money already invested. Secondly, Syracuse is the most important piece of the new expansion because it gives the ACC access to the northeast and (the key here) New York City. Third, it likely affects Pitt's standing and desire to stay, because most assume that 'Cuse and Pitt talked things over awhile back and decided to talk to the ACC and make the move together. This situation, while disgusting, is not Penn State. -
I don't think Pagano's going anywhere so soon. And I don't think Del Rio is a valuable coach either, considering he was pretty much just fired for quitting on his team.

It's not a Ravens thing, this has been done before by this company. They did it for the Super Bowl, and have done it for other sporting events. It's pretty cool.

Win the division or bust/AFC playoff outlook
ForceEight replied to RavensDomination's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Yes, the first tiebreaker is conference record. But that's involving the top four playoff seeds. The head to head with Pittsburgh still matters because in a tie situation, that would decide who wins the division. The loser would therefore be a wild card (or not in the playoffs), not a top four seed (where the conference record comes into effect). -
I don't think Birk's going anywhere, either. Nor do I really think he should.
-
It wouldn't have. That's what BallT was saying in his last post. There is a difference between running the ball and catching it. When you run the ball, you establish possession when it's handed to you. When you throw it, possession isn't established until you complete the catch; if you don't complete the catch, you don't score.

It has been a long time since I saw one of these
ForceEight replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I don't mind the old jerseys. But then again, I think our jerseys now are kind of ugly, too. -
Eight years ago? My god. I was talking to you guys when I was 14!

This is exactly right. Maybe the rule needs to be clarified (using something more specific than "a football move", etc.), but it's correct in interpretation.
-
That is the greatest picture ever and I'm stealing it.

Webb might still be our best CB, so it's way too soon for that. Maybe going into next season they consider it; I know I've heard a lot of talk about it lately.
