    Week 10

To a degree I agree. If the play calling is solid and Joe has Rice for his check down he is usually OK. And I dont know why the run was abandoned so early. Either way despite that I am not happy with what I have been seeing from Joe when he needs to think. And there will come a time in the playoffs, if we make it, where the QB will have to think. Good series of plays to watch from last weeks game. After the Webb interception on second and third Joe had all day to find someone. He couldn't and danced in place until sacked both times. On the Miami drive that followed at one point the Ravens rushed 3 (maybe 4) and while no one was initially open Henne stayed in the pocket and found an open receiver. Joe is probably better than Henne overall but I don't see Joe doing that. I do think its funny how Boller could do no right, after a bad game most of the blame from most of the fans was put right on him. Now after a loss most fans point fingers anywhere but Flacco. And I wish I didnt see him as a problem, I really do, but I do.

I don't think we should bench him. I agree he isn't elite, I think he is OK. I am not sure he is good enough to win us games. If the play calling is good and he can rely on his arm and not think or look for open receivers I think we are in good shape. If he has to find receivers I think we will suffer. I dont like feeling this way. I just do. I see little or no improvement from him since his rookie year. Boller started so much lower but actually improved (probably never to the level Joe is now but that is not saying a lot). Joe I am not sure has improved one bit, he sucked at reading the field then and he sucks at it now. Play him and hope he gets better, that's the only thing to do. I can still be disappointed if I dont see any growth even though I feel this way.

Yeah and I am sure most people will agree with you and ignore his first 2/3rds of his game. He still stares down receivers and cant find others if his primary is open, even the Heap and Mason TDs he stared them down. He is a very average QB at this point in his career. I agree the defense wasnt great the 2nd half, but if the offense and Joe showed up before the late 3rd it wouldnt have mattered.

Better QB performance and we win tonight. But Joe Confused had a good quarter and a half so I am sure no one will be worried.
  5. I certainly cannot argue with the result, they worked out yesterday almost perfectly.
  6. He has great stats but those I highlighted are still how I feel. Well except I don't think he goes through full progressions, I think he goes primary then RB. Numerous times yesterday when the Dolphins rushed 3 and Joe had a lot of time he couldn't find anyone open. But the running game was good so they had to cover that and Ray Rice made it look like Joe had a great day. If he can be better/smarter with his reads and find open targets, and often they have been there, then I think he can be an elite QB. Until then Cam or whatever offensive coordinator better be really good to cover for him.
  7. That's really bush league. He should be ashamed of himself.
  8. The Ravens have a ton of weapons, the problem is they are not utilized as often as they should be. If the Ravens can run and/or if the Falcons don't cover Ray Rice on the check down we will be in good shape. If we cannot run and Joe needs to look for receivers I expect more Joe Confused than Joe Cool. I'm not going to pick either way, Thursday night games suck. I have seen many good teams have trouble with the short week.

    Big Win

Its a good win with lots of positives and a number of negatives. Great to see Rice have the day he did. I think he made Joe look a lot better than he was. So many mistakes along the way though, if Miami had played a little better it would have been tough. But they didn't. 6-2 halfway through.
  10. Is that final and legit? Wow I am really amazed. I am pretty happy with that list. Amazed a QB wasnt #1, but I am glad. As I posted earlier Rice may have been my #1.
  11. Yay! Glad neither are Ravens...
  12. Some big names still not listed. Walter Payton, Joe Montana (my pick for best QB), Jerry Rice (lol he might actually get my pick for #1 player - I thought he was a tremendous player). Lots of punters still to come too. I guess Lawrence Taylor too. I figured Ray being as good as he has for so long might have him ranked above Taylor but I guess not. Oh well its just a silly list.
  13. Guys with character and toughness handle things better and don't bitch and complain for 10 years, especially when it was pretty much all good for him here.
  14. Trent should still be thanking Ozzie. He was a bad QB who got a SB ring. That probably got him a few more contracts in his playing career and probably helped him get his current TV job. Plenty of players get traded or dropped before a team wins a championship and never get rings, Trent was lucky. Yet he bitched then and it sounds like he still is bitching. If there is any truth to this story at all he should be ashamed of himself. To take what should be a happy reunion and admonish a GM for not resigning him is very unprofessional.
  15. Its 10 years later. It doesn't do anything productive to hold onto anger bitterness that long. Ozzie, Billick, Dilfer are all good guys, its just a business where feelings can get hurt.
  16. Remember when Gary Miller took a leak out a bar window onto some cops?
  17. There was great stuff in a book called ESPN: The Uncensored History by Michael Freeman about Berman. Nothing too awful (like multiple sexual harassment allegations against Tirico) but it basically said he liked staying at ESPN and in Bristol because he was a big fish in a little pond and liked the constant attention. The Pope Of Bristol is what they called him. He expected special treatment and usually got it.
  18. It was a great time. I thought the 2000 reunion was going to be the best part of the day because I expected a blowout but the whole day was pretty sweet. It was nice to see those players and cheer them.
  19. I was at the game, the last minutes of the first half were really really slow.
  20. Good play calling that kept the Pats off balance. Joe has an awesome arm, if the primary is open he will most likely hit him accurately. If he isn't then we are in trouble. He has 4 good targets on the field, 5 if you include Ray Rice; I find it hard to believe the Pats had them covered all the 4th and the OT. Joe had time too. I find it hard to believe the Bengals had everyone covered all game too. The Bengals have really figured him out, he consistently looks awful against them. If we are on top and Joe can afford to throw it away if the primary is covered, or dump it to Rice then we will be in good shape. If he has to look for someone open I think we'll be hurt. At least this stage in his career. That sounds like what I myself said many times when talking about Redman and or Boller.
  21. Sadly thats exactly how it looks to me.
  22. I think it will taper off, it was new and people wanted to see the new ways they could hand their money to someone else. I am not against the slots though, if people want to play and lose their money like that I have no problem with it.
  23. I think its too soon to judge any team Super Bowl ready or not. There have been a lot of surprises so far. I am really happy with the 4-2 record at this point as I don't feel the team has consistently played well. I thought and hoped the team would be playing better, especially on offense, but they haven't and that's a disappointment for me. But there's miles to go... before I sleep, miles to go before I sleep.
