  1. Gurley worries me because of his knee injury. Can't say I agree all the way with the rest but your picks were definitely interesting!
  2. Hey, I'm in agreement with you. If I was picking I'd wait until later for a RB too. But Oz always stays true to his board.
  3. I agree, Papa, but it's hard not to pick a playmaker that falls into your lap, especially when he's the highest ranked still on the board. I'd still rather see us draft a WR who falls to us or maybe Maxx, though I'm not sure he's really first round talent. We don't really have any control on who's going to drop to us. But somebody good will.
  4. The more I think about the draft in round one, the more I'm thinking we're going to wind up with one of the two running backs, Gurley or the other guy whose name I don't remember(I hate senior moments). I think all the wide receivers of 1st round quality will be gone by the time we draft with the possible exception of DGB whom I don't think we would draft because of his baggage. Also, there are still good receivers around in later rounds. We'll take the best player available I have a feeling it will be one of the 2 running backs.
  5. I think it'd be crazy for the NFL to take any action against Bisciotti for what little he said. At most, a fine. And I just saw this:http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-lions-will-not-pursue-tampering-charges-against-ravens-20150402-story.html
  6. Since it's not guaranteed, if he sucks in the pre-season (I don't think he will) we can just cut him with no cap or financial loss at that point.
  7. Losing Joe would really hurt. But it might come down to that if he doesn't restructure. His agent, Joe Linta, is a pain in the ass and conceivably could create a trade situation.
  8. I like it. His cap hit was too high for his quality of play.
  9. I'd have to put Bulger first, then Schaub.
  10. I'm glad we got him. He knows the system.
  11. The future of this franchise is really up to Joe Flacco. If he restructures, we'll be alright but if he doesn't, we won't.
  12. Anybody know when Terrance Brooks is due back from his injury?
  13. Yeah, I feel good about Lewis too. It's possible our safety positions are at least average and probably a bit better than that. If only Elam could get his act together. The starters at cornerback (Smith and Webb) and at safety (Hill and Lewis) are looking solid. Is it actually possible we've solved our secondary problems? We ought to be able to find a nickel back in the draft in rounds 3 or 4.
  14. He's been on the inactive list much too often for being such a high draft pick. We can use every bit of cap space we can get.
  15. This is how much we have under the cap now and it doesn't include two more positions to be added in the calculations later: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/cap/2015/ Plus, you have to hang on to some of that in case of injuries. This is why I keep beating the cut Gradkowski, Arthur Brown drum. It would free up almost $2 million more.
  16. We're so tight under the cap we don't have room to pay any decent veterans.
  17. Here's some analysis from CBS Sports on Perriman: "STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES STRENGTHS: Perriman is a big, strong, aggressive receiver armed with NFL pedigree who will use his size and strength to make the catch. Possesses long arms and a large wingspan. He has a very deceptive stride that lets him break down a defender's cushion and get deep.Perriman possesses the tools to make tough, acrobatic catches with his large soft hands. Can track the football and snatch it at its highpoint. A good runner after the catch who is able to big up big chunks of yardage. Perriman demonstrated excellent chemistry with his quarterbacks. In his breakout season of 2013, Blake Bortles was under center for the Knights and Perriman built on his sophomore success and improved his production playing with Justin Holman his junior year. WEAKNESSES: Lacks polish and technique to the position. He'll need to work on running routes and reading coverages at the next level. Perriman will not be able to rely just on his natural ability at the next level. Can disappear at times in a game. He was a terrific college player and is good enough for the NFL, but may not have the suddenness or speed to excel as a starting receiver in the NFL. --Bo Marchionte PLAYER OVERVIEW Perriman's father (Brett Perriman) played receiver in the NFL for 10 years and had two 1,000-yard seasons with the Detroit Lions. Opposite of his father (5-foot-9, 180 pounds) Breshad is a massive target at 6-3, 214.The Knights' leading receiver with 50 catches for 1,044 and nine touchdowns his junior season, Perriman received All-American Athletic Conference First Team honors and declared early for the NFL Draft. During his true sophomore and junior seasons he averaged an astounding 20.8 yards per catch. Perriman established himself as a legit offensive weapon as a true freshman. His 26 receptions for 388 yards for three touchdowns all rank third overall as a true freshman at UFC. He also earned a spot on the C-USA All-Freshman Team. Perriman made one of the most memorable plays in UCF school history with a 51-yard Hail Mary catch to defeat ECU, 32-30, that gave the Knights a share of the 2014 conference title. It was another example of Perriman's ability to adjust to the football and time the catch in coverage on deep passes. He caught at least one touchdown pass in seven straight games his junior season, finishing the year with nine. Seven receivers have been selected from UCF in school history, with the most notable being Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who was selected in the fourth round in 2006 by the Denver Broncos. Perriman has the ability to match Marshall's draft grade."
  18. The last 2 years, comp picks were announced before end of March. We're up for 3 this year?
  19. Yep, a TE or WR should be our Round 1 priority.
  20. Good article. The Ravens have had problems lately trying to extend players before they have 1 year left.
  21. If, a big if, JImmy Smith and Webby stay healthy our defensive backfield will be in good shape.
