  1. And, you know, this is really nothing new...this has been happening to running qb's for as long as I can remember. The only exception I can think of is Fran Tarkenton, and he scrambled more than ran downfield.
  2. Nicely written, Max.
  3. Max, I agree with you on that list and I would keep LaQuann if Oz doesn't trade for or pick up on waivers a good WR.
  4. Agree with you guys: the D will be potent and get better and better. The offense looked out of kilter after Yanda went to the bench. KO had just a bad night I think and he was up against some super competition. Receivers and their timing with Joe is still the biggest problem.
  5. No. I agree Jones should be #3. The scary part is what the options are for #2.
  6. Geez that's a scary thought.
  7. They should have Dickson, Clark and either Furstenburg or Bajema as the TEs. One of the last 2 will probably be stashed on the practice squad?
  8. Absolutely right on Jimmy Smith's problem of not locating the ball. He's always close enough to the receiver to make a play but has real difficulty looking for the ball at the right time.
  9. Reed has shown very, very little as a receiver. I agree with this move.
  10. Bisciotti is a first class guy who cares about people.
  11. Maybe we'll know more after this Thursday's game. It would be nice to see them get open and catch a pass or two. I'm inclined to think they still have something left in the tank but there's no data to go on.
  12. Anybody know why the league won't release the name of the PED?
  13. I think it's higher than a third. Much higher from the weights and muscle mass I see. I agree, Crav.
  14. Well whoever was living there sure as hell had a love affair with shoes.
  15. Could be, Papa. Some players are on that drug for ADD and it does test positive and they get screwed if they didn't have a Doctor's permission form ahead of time. But there is also a body of opinion that claims those guys or some of them are using it as an excuse since the PED drug that the league finds is never revealed (and why the hell not I wonder?).
  16. BINGO!!!
  17. The offense is sluggish and mistake prone. Jones is not a #2. We need to try some other guys with the first team. Maybe Stokely can add something. Agree Shiancoe has not shown anything so far except negatives. Hell, Bajema plays better than him. Maybe Clark can add something. But when you're talking counting on 34 and 37 year olds, you're in trouble. The defense comes and goes. Jimmy Smith covers well but doesn't have a clue that he has to play the ball by LOOKING for it too. Webb will help here if he's fully recovered. Daryl Smith is a keeper. Dumerville looked good. Safety play needs a lot of work. They have just 3 weeks to get this all sorted.
  18. Crav, I think the jury is still out on Juice. From what I've seen he's a liability as a run blocker but has good hands and could be horse once he gets his hands on the ball. This situation still has to shake out.
  19. We'll find out a lot about the defense in the first half tonight.
  20. I'm wondering if McClain has played his last game. And I can kind of understand the pay reduction: money wasn't guaranteed and they're still paying him a cool 1.5 million to just, hopefully, get better.

  22. More from Ravens Website: Caldwell Puts More Fingerprints On Offense As training camp and the preseason continue, we’re starting to see more of Caldwell’s fingerprints on the offense. He seemed to put an even bigger stamp on it with the Ravens’ signings of two of his former players, Clark and receiver Brandon Stokley. “The Ravens, though, wouldn't have brought in Clark and Stokley purely on their ties with Caldwell. They fit what Caldwell wants to do offensively,” Hensley wrote. “The biggest change when Caldwell took over for Cam Cameron in December was using the middle of the field. Cameron preferred not throwing in between the numbers because it increased the chances of interceptions. Clark and Stokley have made careers by running crossing and underneath routes.” The Sun’s Matt Vensel is seeing similar trends. He says Caldwell implemented more horizontal routes that run across the field, and also use more pre-snap motions, bunches and stacks tohelp receivers get separation off the line.
  23. Saw video clips on WBAL tv today and Clark looked both interested and energetic.
  24. 87 is his number.
  25. Agree with that.
