  1. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/haloti-ngata/ After seeing this, I think Ozzie and company ought to restructure this.
  2. Good news for him and us...I just hope he's ready by August.
  3. That's another reason they shouldn't move Oher to LT. Hell, if we have to, draft a guy.
  4. They need to keep Oher. He is a good RT just not a good LT. I agree they should give up on Harewood and Reid. It may just be possible to get McKinnie for $2 mil and draft a LT out of college to be groomed. I don't particularly like Bryant but there is no doubt the whole offense clicked when he was in there. Some (or all?) of that might also be due to Caldwell since both happened around the same time.
  5. Gee...I think its only a 2.5 million cap hit. If true, a good job by Ozzie.
  6. Most of what I've read has said it's deep.
  7. Hell, Max, I'm hoping you're right and I'm wrong.
  8. I really doubt we're going to wind up with Dumerville. In the end, he'll take a somewhat higher deal to stay where he is and since signing him would blow the cap to hell (unless they restructure some guys) I'm not sure us signing him is the best move. As for LT. its one of my pet concerns. If we could trade up in the draft to take one we should. I don't think McKinnie really wants to be here after he was forced to take a significant cut in salary from us just this season. But no one else may really want him with his weight and other baggage. Somebody has to compete with Gino and back him up if he wins the competition. Will probably be some guy who's over the hill. The Defense is a mess. Hope the draft helps there. I don't think we're going to be able to fill all these holes with good talent in one year. Looks like a long losing season. By the way, when it is going to hit them that OHRER IS NOT A LT!!!
  9. Yup! Remember the Eagles 'dream team' and how that turned out.
  10. Good analysis, Dee. It is hard to see you players you love leave the team. The one that hurt the worst for me was Boldin. But, with the exception of Pollard, the moves made cap sense and did reflect a desire to get younger and maybe faster on D. I think they let Pollard go because he's a disruptive force in the locker room and that Harbs statement it was 'purely cap' is purely crap. As Papa and RavenMad said above, the biggest most important need to fill for me is LT. Whether by FA or drafte we really need one and Michael Ohrer has not done well there. If McKinnie can keep in shape, which is a real question, I would like to see him back while we groom a long-term solution. Ohrer does well on the right side and KO is a really good LG. We should let them play the positions they fit best. I'm not impressed with with either Jah Reid or Harewood. Somehow we have to come up with 2 safeties, 2 ILBs, that LT, a C to compete with Gino, and possibly another tough possession receiver like Boldin. I think that's a tall order for Oz but if anyone can do it, its him.
  11. We've really got to make these count. This year especially since so many have retired/gone.
  12. You'd figure there'd be some way to change the game to Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday. I'm now believing this is an NFL issue, not really the Birds or Baseball's fault.
  13. I tell you, Papa, I feel so negative towards Angelos I don't think there's anything he can do to change that opinion.
  14. 11 million - 6 million (assuming he'd take that) = 5 million under. That ain't much.
  15. I want Angelos to just go away. He said he was going to get some players this off-season to keep last year's good feelings running. He did nada. Zilch. And now he wants to screw the Ravens. The thing I've never understood about the Orioles owner is, if he can't afford to spend money to improve the team why doesn't he just sell it? The O's should just move the game to a 12:05 start.
  16. I read that too but I can't imagine us being able to fit him under the cap.
  17. Well, when he came back from the first one he was even better than before. He should be alright.
  18. I don't see a problem. He has a contract with an option and we picked it up. He's certainly proven himself to be worthy of it with his past performance.
  19. Yes! Please, please draft a good LT!
  20. More on this theme by John Eisenberg: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Eisenberg-Ravenstown-Divided-Into-Two-Camps/8630afda-1481-482d-bd27-565a32e5871a
  21. I read this and since it has one of my all time favorite quotes from Lombardi, I had to post it here. Plus, I felt a little better after reading it: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Byrne-Identity-What-The-Hell-Is-Going-On-Out-There/00d226d4-703e-4a95-aa87-f0d45bfe628d I disagree with Byrne a bit on Osemele though. I think he may indeed become a Pro Bowl LG but a RT he's not.
  22. Lets get Zibby! And now I do feel better about the Pollard cut. You can't have a guy be that obnoxious on the team and apparently from the article thats how several team members saw him. So goodbye, Bernard! One columnist said he's hard to handle and wears out his welcome and thats why he's been on 3 teams so far and he is only 28. I don't think we should bring Ed back either at this point if Houston is indeed offering him $6 million---they're crazy!
