If you really believe this, then you have a lot to learn about football in the NFL. The Ravens used it to try and get some kind of running game going against the #1 run defense. Taylor had 1 pass for 0 yards and 4 carries for 7 yards...a 1.8 ypc. It failed. All they did was raise a white flag to the NFL and say "We don't know what to do."

Wait a minute! We have an O line sighting!

John Harbaugh would like to host Thanksgiving game every year
vmax replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
The NFL and the rest of the USA should show their gratitude to Baltimore every Thanksgiving for turning back the British in 1812. Otherwise we'd all be singing "God Save the Queen" Thursday night. -
You just have a hard on to trash Joe. He was totally right. And he wasn't crying. He was asked how he felt about the Ravens using the wildcat at todays press conference. Like a man he gave his honest opinion. You, on the other hand, are bitching and moaning and crying like a baby about Joe Flacco on a daily basis. Here's a translation of your Posts: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

5 playoff appearances with lot's of wins, 1 Super Bowl championship.....what's not to like? He's proven that he's a good enough QB to help get you to the playoffs, win there and win a Super Bowl. He's a proven commodity. A solid 5 year body of work. He is what he is, but in a team sport where QB play is important to win championships Joe get's it done. Just don't draft him for your fantasy team. I'd say Joe and the offense bailed out Ray Lewis and the defense out last year.

Good question. I don't see it being fixed this season. Maybe by training camp Osemele and Yanda report 100% healthy. That in itself would be a huge upgrade. Maybe Monroe gets signed by us. Then Ozzie finds a center in the draft or FA. Don't know about Oher. Then...the coaching staff has to adjust to what their talent does best. This will be one of the biggest priorities for Ozzie...and to find a runner. He has to protect Joe and he has to have a running game.

Until now, the Ravens offense always ran through Ray Rice. Joe needs a running game and a line that can block. Give him that and it's another SB. So yea...he's a system QB. All the QB's in the NFL are. It's smart. When facing a good rushing attack, defenses have to bring more players into the box. Where Joe comes in is that when defenses crowd the box he can burn them deep because his receivers are facing man coverage. If defenses stay back in coverage, the running game kills them. Well...that is not there now. Joe had a damn good game for getting sacked 4 times, hit 6 times and 30-40 mph winds. He's one of the few who can go into Mile High in December and January and put a hurting on you.

Thanks RavenMad....I couldn't tell from the stands. That was a big play. It took 3-7 points off the board on a day where the offense struggled in the red zone. I really like Marlon Brown but you can't put him on the field if he's not going to be where he's supposed to be. Like Tandon Doss...he can work his way off the field and eventually the team.

The woman in Oakland was a jumper....no accident.

Good points dc.....it really didn't gain much yardage and at times lost yards putting the Ravens in a hole. Preston seems to think using the wildcat was directed at Joe to give him a wake up call....and Joe woke up. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-preston-ravens-column-1125-20131124,0,5566984.column The O line is bad. Joe was hit and sacked way too many times. The running game will never get off the ground with this unit and it looks like Ray Rice has run out of gas. I don't see how the Ravens can win this final 6th seed with that line and run game.

and in other news......

The big game against the Steelers? Let's hold the banner upside down...
-
Just don't show up in those ugly ass uniforms or we'll be throwing up turkey.
-
Yea...Dickson made some key catches and runs today. We had a Stokely sighting. Marlon Brown was covered well today. Reed was hanging out on top of him. How about Torrey today! That a fabulous catch and run. He stumbled forward for the last 20 yards. He now has a career high 859 yards. Was Flacco's INT a tipped ball?
-
They found their winning formula....very good Defense...good Special Teams with the offense providing just enough. Hopefully the O get's better....it must stop the turnovers and continue to cut down on the penalties. Punts may be a good thing in the field position battle. A running game! A running game. My kingdom for a running game!

Nope. It's Steelers week...al talk and opinions about this game is welcome on this board.

Other than that it was windy and cold as shit.... I loved seeing Tyrod in the wildcat...the Ravens had to do something to run the ball.... But it really didn't gain a lot of yards and other than Taylors big run....no big gains. Now Joe just stood there trying to stay warm...I say do the same for 2 or 3 times vs the Steelers then Joe needs to do a Torry Smith at the line and take off downfield as Taylor lofts him the TD pass. D looked good. By the 2nd quarter I felt like the Yets would not score again. Darryl Smith is one bad MOFO. Did he break up 3 straight passes at the end to be a 1 man 3 and out for Geno Smith. Speaking of Geno Smith....this guy has nothing and looked lost. They had a better chance to win with Cribbs at QB. Damn it was windy and cold! I saw dozens of fans with boogie ice cycles hanging from their noses. Ray Rice is up to 1.9 ypc this week. Up from 1.6...that's Harbaugh's influence..."We're going to get better each week!" Jacoby Jones!!!! Vintage Flacco to Jones on that TD with Ed Reed grasping at Jones's ankles as he crossed the goal line. He is so much fun to watch! He did his dance...gave a big smile to the fans on the jumbotron....and saved the return game...worth thew price of admission. Is Tucker the Bomb or what!?! 4 for 4 in all that wind and cold! Did I say it was cold and windy? It took guys an extra 10 minutes in the Men's room looking for you know what... Here's my testament to Tucker. On one of his FG attempts, I started to head for the Men's room just like I used to when Stover took the field. First time I've done that since Automatic Matt. Tucker has totally won me over.

At the moment, with the Dolphins and Yets losing, everybody is 5-6 with the Steelers holding the 6th seed. It doesn't get any better than this. The season's over for whoever loses.

I thought this thread was about pasties.

There is a limit to the amount of work that you do in a 24 hour period and remaining productive.. Over work many times is unproductive. Sleep and rest are necessities....and being with your family. I hope Harbs and his coaches are not burned out game day....but it would explain some of the "bonks".
-
Tie 26-26 game...2 seconds left...BC facing a 52 yard FG attempt....strong swirling winds...at the kickers back.....as the BC kicker goes in stride Edsel calls a time out...AND THE KICK WENT WIDE LEFT! The dumb MoFO tried to ice the kicker who is one of the best in the NCAA....hasn't missed one all year. You do not give a guy like that time to figure it out and basically give him a practice kick. Of course the follow up was dead on....distance was never going to be a problem. Maryland loses.

I resemble that! I have knowledge of things they are not want you to know!
-
I don't have any problems. Hey! How'd that get on here?!

The Myth was better than the man. He's really just somebody to laugh at now. He wanted "Broadway Schmoe" Sanchez and Geno Smith and he can't beat the Ravens...you can have him.
