It's 51 degrees now but it was cold when I woke up at 5am. Going down into the 30's tonight. Tornado...we'll be fine in our section...very rare for asshole behavior. Besides...those Steeler fans get real quiet and humble when they are losing....and they leave early. My 2 boys are pissed that I'm taking her. Yea...the Ravens will kick their ass's. We'll be 8-4 then....

Yea....the Ravens own this month! With the bye week adjustments and a nice read of Joe Plantania's article, I'm feeling good about the Ravens chances this year. Nobody else in the AFC is scary. It's anybody's to take this year. We have a great month of football ahead of us. Browns, Bengals, Bears, Yets and Steelers! I'm taking my daughter to the Steelers game Thanksgiving night ...Because....because....I raised her right and she hates Rthslssxxxxbrrrgrrr and the Styeelers. Going to be a great 5 game run with the Ravens coming out on top. Just sit back and watch the miracle happen this month.

He made a few mistakes...definitely. Every HC does. Now...these are not excuses. They are facts that when you add them up you are a 3-4 team. 1. Huge roster turnover. Loss of longtime key veteran players, infusion of youth, and unforeseen injuries. Everybody has to be on the same page with perfect chemistry to be a great team. A few years together will do that. This roster had a few months. 2. The O line is not the same. KO played at 50% with the bad back and now he's gone. Burke is gone and Gronkowsky is developing so there's a learning curve and a price to pay with that. Yanda is not full strength and won't be this season because of his off season surgery and limited time to get in shape during the off season. McKinnie could not get the job done. 2a. Castillo and the change in the blocking scheme hurt this team. 3. Both Rice and Pierce played slow and hurt...hence no running game. 4. Almost a completely new receiving corps for Joe. 5. New players on special teams not up to speed like last years unit. 6. It's a brand new LB corp and secondary. Communication issues and chemistry issues abound. Now: This is also a very talented and playoff worthy roster....and coaching staff. This team, when it all comes together, will be as good as any in the NFL. That takes time and it may not happen this year. 3-4 is the growing pains. The communication and trust issues. The chemistry. This is not a mature roster. Not today. Not yet. 3-4 is the injuries. 3-4 is coaching errors. 3-4 is the price you play for drafting and developing well in the era of the CAP and Free Agency. You can't pay them all so you have to let them go. Other than Boldin....Ozzie let all the right ones go who are not worth the money that they are getting paid elsewhere. 3-4 is what they are....but there is a lot of football yet to be played.

Atkins is the one player they could least afford to lose.

You have been a fan for way too long not to see and understand why the team is struggling this year. You know the key ingredients a team and organization must have to be a winner. It's a long list. Don't try to hang it on Harbaugh.
-
Crav...you are so wrong on this. They are 3-4 as a result of the whole front office, coaching staff and all the players on the roster. They won the Super Bowl as a result of the whole front office, coaching staff and all the players on the roster.
-
The in game calls, coaching and team preparedness were pretty damn good the last 5 years...all the way to the Super Bowl victory. This and Cam's firing tells a whole lot about John. When it comes to winning or friends....he has no problem jettisoning the friends. He's rock steady.
-
Yea...I caught all that and love hearing it.
-
I agree with Harbaugh. This could be an upgrade on the line. Too bad for KO...he's a great player when he's 100%. Back surgery is not a good thing. This will be very hard to overcome and play this game. I'm sure he'll have the best doctors working on this.

Ravens will need to play at their best to beat Browns
vmax replied to Tornado700's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Love it!!! That could happen. -
Only 1 down in the loss column thanks to Andy Dalton.
-
Dude...we're just fans....volunteers. As far as I know Dee puts out all the money, work and effort and gets nothing back. It costs you nothing to post here. So why the fuck are you bitching and moaning like a lazy whore?

I'm feeling good about a Ravens win. Not a blowout because Cleveland has a good defense and we know D can keep you in a game. As long as the Ravens stay disciplined, don't commit turnovers and penalties, they will grind out a win. If they make Jason Campbell look like a Hall of Famer then....guys and gals,....the seasons over. -
Then it's going to be a hell'va ride.

Q: What's the difference between the Cleveland Browns and a dollar bill? A: You can still get four quarters out of a dollar bill. Q: Did you hear about the joke that Brandon Weeden told his receivers? A: It went over their heads. Q: What do the Cleveland Browns and possums have in common? A: Both play dead at home and get killed on the road! Q: How many Cleveland Browns does it take to change a tire? A: One, unless it's a blowout, in which case they all show up Q: How do you keep an Cleveland Browns out of your yard? A: Put up goal posts.

DING DONG!!!!

It tells me that talent was sitting on the bench and rusting. Marlon Brown might not have ever set foot on the field if not for the Boldin trade and injuries. Now he's a "find" too. Let me add this...I don't think the Ravens are 3-4 if either Pita or Boldin were playing. Just one of them would have made a difference of 1...maybe 2 wins.
-
The way that I see it, to make the playoff,s the Ravens would have to win the rest of their Divisional games and not lose to an AFC opponent. Tall order.
-
Love your last sentence varav. Yea...I'm all in when it comes to supporting and seeing this through...however painful the growing pains are. I agree...I don't see how they can turn this around quickly. I also think they will be a much better team as the season wears on.
-
I hope they can take care of half of them and make improvement in the other half. Read the article on McKinnie and Castillo's new blocking scheme in the News Feeds section and there's another problem to solve. Then...just getting players healthy will help a lot.
-
McKinnie doesn't come off as bitter here so I'm taking what he says as true... We know Rice and Pierce are not healthy. It's a perfect storm to wreck the running game. This is a good example of "If it works, don't fix it". The O line played great in the playoffs and as far as I'm concerned they threw that formula in the trash.
-
I like your prediction OTR. That would be a fantastic turnaround, and if that happens, then I would add a "W" for the final regular season game and a Division Championship. I'd flip out if that happens. The O line kept Joe upright and gave him some time against the Steelers so there is some hope that the O will get better. But the Ravens couldn't run. If the Ravens can't run, then the additional losses that I see to change your list are both games with Cincy and the Patriots game. That puts them at 7-9. This team has a lot of good parts but they are not in sync, so I see the 7-9 record as the better possibility.

I love good adult conversation.
