Boring. That Texan reporter wants him to start talking Super Bowl and what a great team and organization they have. Face it. They couldn't win squat until Manning left the division and they can't beat the Patriots. Shaub really fell apart the last 4 games of the season and in the playoffs. Reed will not get them over the hump.

Me too...

It gets worse. I just realized this means one less home game this year unless they swap games with the stealers, browns or bengals. Otherwise there will only be 7 home games.
-
It won't look that way after the draft and whenOzzie gets another FA or 2
-
It boiled down to NBC. That won't let the NFL move the game to Wednesday night. I hate week night home games anyway.

I can't believe they are suggesting this.... Who the fuck do they think we are!!!!!!!!!!!? These guys!?!

The Ravens are compliant with the cap. It's better than '96 when they had no practice squad because they couldn't Iafford to pay them.

Ozzie's ahead of you crav...

I'd call it "Cap Purgatory". They have some cash flow aparently...

Removing Emotion, Let's Look at Ravens' Departures
vmax replied to deeshopper's topic in Baltimore Ravens
You know what excites me? No...no...not that!... ....I mean about the upcoming season. I think the Ravens have a very solid core of players and will come out of this better. This year. Like Dee said...the D was going down for the count last season. It needed an overhaul. The O didn't explode until Caldwell took over. Special Teams is rock solid. Everybody has a ton of playoff experience and now Super Bowl experience. They are all solid vets. The first power rankings are out...which is ridiculous, but the Ravens are ranked 8th! There are a slew of slappies ahead of them. It will be fun to watching the Ravens make the pundits look stupid. The pundits over value early free agency, (which is 5% of building a winner) and they have the teams who spent big money for mostly average players, rising right to the top of the rankings. They will fail. Most of them do every year. It's fun reading how the heat is really on Matt Shaub and Mat Ryan after what Flacco did and they haven't. How about the rExodus in New York? OH...and winning the Super Bowl is just one sweet accomplishment. That trumps everything for me. I am in the "Relax Mode" because I know they did not mortgage the future. The Ravens will be in the hunt every year. The league wanted to see them get old, slow and implode. Won't happen. -
Removing Emotion, Let's Look at Ravens' Departures
vmax replied to deeshopper's topic in Baltimore Ravens
The emotion for me is the loss of a large group of players that I loved watching and following their careers. Ray Lewis, Burke, Ed Reed, Ellerbe, Boldin, Pollard. They were Ravens to the bone. That's also a huge loss of leadership and character. So that puts the damper on things at this moment...but not for the upcoming season. They could lose 10 starters from the Super Bowl team if Leach and McKinnie don't come back. That's almost 50% of your starters gone. I'm good with getting younger and faster. Keeping this group together for 1 more year would only sink the ship. There's time to celebrate, time to morn, and now is the time to look ahead. For me, it will be exciting to see what FA's Ozzie gets between now and the end of preseason. Those 12 draft picks are going to be very interesting. Then, this team is still deep and there are players who will take advantage of their development and fill some voids. -
I am so gratefull to be a fan of the team that he played for all these years. Ed was nothing but a highlight reel. The best playmaker that I have seen. Even in the down seasons Sundays were sweet. I'm happy for Ed that he got his Super Bowl trophy with the Ravens. Remember his game agaist the Indigenous Person? Brunell was the QB. The Ravens offense was inept as usual. Ed forced a Brunell fumble and ran it in for a TD. He blocked a punt and ran that in. He snagged an interception and ran that in. Only Superman does something like that. He was incredibly good.

This is a good trend. The tight cap and new CBA is beginning to level the salaries amoung players. Just beginning. The new, and lower, slotted money for the draft is a huge help. The very high priced QB's, CB's, LT's, and WR's wreck what the average NFL player can earn. The highly talented and productive players at these positions deserve more because of the impact on a game that they bring....but not so much more that it also wrecks a teams ability to compete. The QB market is ridiculous. This will be something to watch closely this year and for the next few years.

It is an NFL issue. They have viable options. Now that I understand this situation, I hold no grudge toward MLB or the Orioles. Wednesday is the best for night them. Friday and Saturday would be lower ratings because of the weekend. They'd lose the younger crowd. Wednesday is perfect. Get me in my purple seat.

Ask the 8-8 Steelers.

Jacoby should have some good dance routines for celebrations this year. If the show was "Dancing on Bars" Crav would watch it every week.
-
This rule change doesn't mean squat. It will have no impact on the Ravens running game. It's not the only blocking scheme the Ravens run. Rice and Leach make it happen just as much. Nobody can find Rice behind that big O line.

The Ravens O line can road grade with or without the chop. They are not undersized sissy's.

varav....give Harbaugh the Browns roster and if he can get them to play "with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind", then he'll be in the playoffs for his 6th straight year... I'll go on record that they make the playoffs this year. Of all the players that they lost, Boldin and Ellerbe hurt the most. They can and will upgrade on everybody else. They are going to miss Ellerbe.

The NFL played games last year on the first day of Rosh Hashanah and the last. This is on the NFL...solely. There is no reason not to have the game Wednesday night. None.
