  1. No he doesn't.
  2. I've have heard only bits and pieces from the State of the Ravens address but this much is clear to me: Lee Evans is gone... Grubbs won't be a Raven.... I figure that Jarrett Johnson will be a Colt. Birk retires. Foxworth is gone. Carr...gone. Zibby...gone. Oh...let's get some balance in our outlook on Dickson...he can block and Pita can't and...
  3. I've only spent about a half hour trying to figure out the Ravens CAP situation for the upcomming 2012 season so my numbers are not accurate.....but it was enough to put me in a panic! They should be close enough to paint a picture of the roster turnover that is comming up. Anyway...this is to get discussion going in the futile hope... ....that if we all put our immense brain power to work, then we can solve this CAP dilemna for Ozzie so he doesn't have to work. Preliminary beginning numbers: The Ravens have about 36-37 players under contract with CAP counting salaries of $108 mil. This years CAP will be about $125 mil. That leaves apx $17 mil to sign apx 16 players. The Ravens have 13 UFA's. You can't sign Grubbs, put the tag on Rice and give Joe a new contract with that king of money....and you would still need to sign the practice squad players (about $1.5 mil) and the draft picks. They are broke. Something has to and will give...and go. Say good-bye to some of your favorite Ravens. Just like losing McGahee, McClain, Heap and Mason last year. The Ravens have 13 unrestricted free agents, four restricted and four exclusive-rights free agents to sign with this money if they were to stay the same. Take a look at the long, long list: http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/2012/01/26/ravens-free-agent-list/
  4. "Did you check out the pass rush in the pro bowl? There was none.
  5. Maybe you have to suck as a HC like Cam and Zorn to get a job on the Ravens offense.
  6. Payton had Gregg Williams and Brees to get his Super Bowl. He was the losing OC to the Ravens in their Super Bowl. I don't think he's better than John....about the same level. Rex definatley isn't. He shouldn't be a HC. I think Jim should get coach of the year. He deserves it. Listening to Jim was like listening to John. He said the same things. If you look at both of them, they are a carbon copy of philosophies on how to win games: Be the most physical team. Run the ball. Play great defense (both D's loaded with talent). Win field position. Avoid turnovers. Make turnovers. Attack. Win time of possession. They both preach "Get Better" at every press conference. It's spooky. Probably from the old man. Very sound philosophies. Future? Well, both HC's have a few great teams they have to face in the playoffs every year. I see the 49'ers as a playoff team for a good while. Same for the Ravens but it will never be easy playing in the North. Now...let's watch how both do. I think Jim, because of his abrasive and confrontational personality, will lose his team before John does. People do complain about his ego. We'll see.
  7. Spear...Tomlin had a stacked roster,LeBeau and Rthsslxxssbrrgrrr. Bellicheat has Brady...the Giants have Manning. Bellicheat and Rooster Coughlan are superior X's and O's HC's compared to Harbaugh...but John has done a great job organizing and running this Ravens train. His drive and focus has kept everybody on the same winning page.He represents us well. He's intense, demanding and old school. The Ravens for the most part have been stacked like you say...but mainly on defense. They were lucky to get to the Super Bowl with Dilfer. Only the greatest single season defense made that possible....you know that. Then came Grbaccccc, Redman, Blake, Wright, Boller...you can't get to a Super Bowl with QB's like that. An ageing Steve McNair????maybe. There's always been weak spots on the Ravens, wether it's the QB's, receivers, secondary and O line issues. .. but in general, good coaching has led to players stepping up and over achieving. Harbaugh also took over a roster with a rookie QB, RB and tackles...new OC and system...Frank Walker, Washington and Ivy in the secondary...nobody saw an AFC title game comming much less a trip to the Super Bowl. Look...I feel your frustration too. I thought they should have gone all the way this year. It has really sucked to have one of the best defenses in the NFL for 10+ years and only 1 Super Bowl team. It does feel like a waste. Especially watching a ton of pathetic offensive performances over the years. Some of Billicks teams under achieved. Harbaughs teams have over achieved. John is not the problem.
  8. I'm still hurting. Watching the Ravens Super Bowl game on NFL Network this morning helped some......then I'm back to thinking the Ravens should be in this one and that they would beat the Giants...then my head gets out of control (as usual) and I think that would be 2 Super Bowl Championships for the Ravens...1 for the Baltimore Colts...2 Baltimore Colt NFL Championships and ...hey!...Baltimore is representing very well. Back to reality...some experiences are rare so when we see a "special" Ravens team or unit: pay attention. We have been very fortunate as fans to see on a regular basis great players, great units, high caliber football, winning football for over a decade. As I look over this roster, coaching staff and front office, I don't see that string of great Ravens football ending any time soon.
  9. Harbaugh is a great HC. Great. He's proven it to me and I want nobody else. There's only 2 HC's that I like over John and they are both coaching in the Super Bowl.
  10. Wilfork beat him like a drum...age/mileage has finally caught up with a great center and person. He was the brains of that line. Ravens are hurting at the moment on the O line. They have to sign Grubbs, get a left tackle and a center. Maybe Girode can fill in at center as a 1 year stop gap. McKinnie would have to have a miracle off season to come back lighter, faster and more agile but he just might be all they can find for next year. Though both are physically imposing, it could get rough if Reid and Harewood are the answers.
  11. While you're there Ben, ask him to explain why he kept a drunken flasher like you. Don't thank him. Bitch at him.
  12. Suggs said they won't skip a beat with Peas comming in. That's good enough for me....I hear he's aggressive. His New England D's didn't give up points...he did a lot with average players...that's what matters. I also like hiring from within. I never heard of Pagano and he was very good...long term buddies looks like a good thing from where I'm sitting. 19-1 at home. 4 years in the playoffs. Cam....he drives me crazy at times but there is nobody available who I think could do better. It's a huge disappointment to me that this 2011 Ravens offense is ranked 15th...average. That's not right. They need a great WR coach and O line coach....those units are weak. Oh...and clean house of those Not So Special Teams coaches.
  13. There's about 15 quarterback starved teams where he would be worth a ton of $$$$. It would be a bidding war if he hits the market.
  14. Not sure. Usually it's a week or 2 after the Super Bowl....I think
  15. Now maybe Art can get into the HOF. This should be a lesson for you: Never, ever tell the truth about the hand that feeds you.
  16. As die hard Ravens fans just listen to Ray's post game locker room speech after this heart breaking loss.... http://www.baltimoreravens.com/media_library/Shows/2011/1_Winning_Drive/Episode_20_at_NE/2011_1_Winning_Drive_Episode_20_Segment_4.aspx?id=d33e7b803a024726af452edad7a2fe11&i=2ed141bbe6cc4030951d13f5ce88618d Every organization needs an Elder Statesman like Ray.
  17. Next Ravens DC....they generally promote from within...What do you think?
  18. now...if you're a coach, then the Ravens should look like a real good place to work. This organization is definately the fast track to head coaching positions.
  19. Congratulations to Chuck and this sucks for us. It's a bad week. First the loss and now this.
  20. Hi Michelle! Good to hear from you. Me and the kids are fine... Sorry you missed the ExtremeRavens picnic...but as you can see, everybodys fine.
  21. "I too, am an Idealist. I spurn offers from ESPN to stay here and become a Posting Legend."
  22. I'm not helping to foot this bill... If I was sitting in the stands I'd think he was secretly laughing at me. It's not just baseball...the football seat prices and concessions...pro sports in general... is pricing me out with their greed.
  23. "From Don Banks....
  24. Nice write up RavenMad. Let's see here.... Ravens offensive rankings: Year......total offense...points per game 2010........15th..................12th 2009.........22nd.................16th 2008........13th...................9th 2008.........18th..................11th I'd say that with all the talent on offense, that machine sputters too much. Harbaugh keeps saying this team's goal is to get better each week. The offense hasn't. So what to your change and correct? #1. Cam needs more talent to work with. The O line was maybe average but it certainly looked outclassed at times this year. It hurt the running and passing game. #2. Joe has Boldin, Smith, Pita and Rice to count on as receivers. They still need a #1WR. #3. Cam and his coaches. Take a real hard look at them and see if there are any others available who are better than them. I don't know of any in the market at this time as far as the OC position. I'm worried about a step down if they ax Cam. I do believe there are OC's in the league who can get more out of this roster but they have jobs. And Just Remember...it's a team sport, so all 3 units in the game plan have to work in tandum toward the common goal of winning games. Ozzie has set the blueprint. John's in on it with him. Tough, physical, smashmouth team that can run in December and beyond...that can compete in the AFC North. The O with get players who fit that profile. So Cam had to work with that. AND...they made the playoffs in 2008 with a rookie QB and RB. Not too shabby. AND...they've made the playoffs 4 years in a row (nobody else has) Do you want to upset that apple cart?
