I hope Willis takes a pay cut and stays. Last year showed me that he's changed, become a team player and 'a Raven'. He's still got some gas in the tank and he's a savy vet. I think McClain will be too pricey for the Ravens. If they lose both, then then the Ravens are asking a 7th round pick to take a chunk of that load. The math doesn't work. An unknown for two productive runners? Allen has some big shoes to fill.

I think the Browns are....the last 10 years....
-
I don't understand.... He's an average safety. A very nice guy and hard worker. He's tough. I don't see much difference between he and his brother....his brother is hyped up by the media but gets beat a lot. I guess the Ravens jersey makes him that valuable. So long Dawan. Take the money and run.
-
He won't like hearing "I'm gonna beat your brains out" from the first OT that he faces....but they will slap his head around. He has to be able to take that and not be dizzy or spaced out. We'll see. He's never had a training camp or played a down so he has a long way to go to make it on the field on this defense. The guys wacked anyway...that doesn't bother me....McCrary was crazy as shit and that made him great. I'll keep wishing him well and looking for the good. The pre head injury Kindle would have been a great addition to this D playing opposite Suggs. Will the Ravens get that guy?

I have no inside news but my speculation and feeling is that it will be done around the 4th of July weekend. Could even be sooner. Neither side wants to hear the court rulings. For the players....the best deal is now. If later, they could be in a worse barganing position and have to accept less. I'm optimistic.
-
We can dream but this would go a long way to maintain the Ravens status as an Elite defense during the transition years ahead. 2 reasons they might cough up the money: 1 To win a Super Bowl now. 2 To remain an Elite D after Ray Lewis and Ed Reed.

Small talk...nothing big here other than missing football... I've been trying not to log on to the NFL.com site as my mild protest to the nonsense of the lock out but.... I finally broke down, and for $20, signed up for the Game Rewind. It covers every game of the 2010 season and playoffs. I watched the opening drive of the KC playoff game and realized how much I miss...'Our Ravens'. It's been so long since I watched a game and wow, this was this great. The adrenyline started flowing...and...I realized I'm totally hooked! Once they are back practicing and getting ready for the season I know, for me, the bad feelings I have about the current situation will vanish. Probably you too. Ravens fans have a really damn good team to watch and support and I want to slap the crybabies who call into the talk shows who are not happy. I saw Bouldin make 2 big catches to move the chains...Heap was huge on that drive....which reminded me of a phone call today. A guy I work with was at Todd Heaps house today because we are going to do some work there. I won't say where it is or anything...to protect his privacy, but the house is huge....and it's not their primary residence. He called me because he knows I'm a Ravens fan and would enjoy this. Heap flew in from Arizona where the family lives while my friend was measuring around the house. Next thing he knows, Joe Flacco walks in. He got his picture taken with them because he knew his wife wouldn't believe him.... So these players are close and staying in touch and I believe will be ready to play once the mountainous pile of money gets divided. I know lots of fans in the construction trade get to work in the houses of Ravens players so I'm sure they have better stories to tell. I'm making sure I'll be there for the work....perhaps I'll have a story about cleaning out his pool...

"Repeat after me...GOOOOOOOOOO RAAAAAAAAAVVVVVEEEENNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
-
My bet is he'll be calling the Redskon games.
-
and lipstick!... Why don't they just go out and get Tiny Tim to call games?
-
Charles was eating up the Ravens until Cody fell on him. I think he'll develop into a very good DT...next to Ngata that would be a very hard front to run on...like Goose and Adams.

Global Commission on Drug Policy has declared War on Drugs is lost.
vmax replied to BengalBilly's topic in General Chat
I agree and I know that. No society has ever stopped drug use in recorded history...even the ones that imposed the death penalty like Japan. I expect no decrease in drug use. It's never going away. What I want is to keep it's use at whatever the minimum is or could be using treatment, detection, intervention, education ect........yea...prison does not work. I wonder about the increase in drug use since it would become super easy to get and legal. That's the 'something new' I was speaking about. Easy access to hard narcotics because it would be legal. A junkies heaven...they would probably use continuously until they died....nothing to stop them. Does the CEO [or anybody] who has a few drinks after work to chill out now take an oxicotin since it's legal? Alcohols a drug but people seem to be able to keep a job and drink. Will that change if other drugs are easily available and legal? I don't know...I guess nobody knows... but I fear that possibility. It would be easier for 13 year olds than it is now IMO. Sure they can get it now [i'm not just talking inner city] but now the hard stuff would be handy, cheap, in vast uninterupted supply and right at their door." Why drink? Here's stuff that works better for the same price." Then again they won't be getting gunned down in the streets every day. They won't be putting mystery chemicals in their bodies....and they probably won't have to rob and steal for the money. The huge sum of money wasted on the failed war on drugs would be put to better uses. I like the vision of safer streets...not having to worry about being shot, robbed and your house broken into. I think there would be big improvement here although crime, like drugs, has been around forever and won't go away. I'm not 100% sure of this but I think China closed the opium dens because of the the destruction and hardship it caused on families. There were falling apart with the bread winners just on the pipe all day. Massive change like this is scary...that doesn't mean it's wrong. -

Well...I want to move on past the name calling crap because this subject is very interesting for me. I'm trying to get a vision of what the future would be if you could purchase drugs like you do alcohol. For example: you don't have to steal TV's or use a gun to buy alcohol....so theft should go down....violent crime should take a drop....but how much? The population of heavy drug users are unemployable so stealing/prostitution ect are part of their way of life to survive...I see no change in the crime stats for these people. Where do the street gangs go? "Ok homie...no more profit so lets go back to school and get jobs now." Do they continue to rob and steal to get money to live? Why would they want to work at McDonalds or a warehouse? Would pharmacies distribute crack? Or does that remain a street drug? Would the monies spent on the war on drugs be used for treatment of addicts? Logically that ton of money should be spent on treatment, keeping kids in school, social programs to limit drug use, drug education, creating jobs, job skill schools ect... How much of a population increase would we see in the use of heavy drugs like heroin, morphine, oxicotin, codine, methadone ect.? Would welfare ranks soar? Would more kids start at even younger ages to get strung out? Would they get it from adults and sell it illegally at school? -

I was thought we're talking about making all drugs legal. That's the only way I see getting rid of the gangs/cartels/mob drug businesses. Nice hypocrite comment billy...I was asking questions for discussion...I don't have answers. -
Grand Slam win...Nice!

Of course Rosenhouse is saying Gaither's in great shape... So he says he'll only play LT. I'm fine with that if he's 100% and has his head in the game.

I was searching NFL.com to find out which teams have the best winning percentage at home. So you have to put in your question and next thing I know a chat box comes up...with a real live person....the poor soul got me... Here's a cut and paste of the chat.... Thank you for choosing NFLshop.com. Unfortunately Stacy is busy assisting other customers. A Fan Agent will be with you shortly. Hello, thank you for contacting the NFLShop.com, the official store of the NFL. My name is Kym. Who do I have the pleasure of chatting with today? Also we have the outlet section were you can save up 60% off original retail**, and we have a great offer on the men's short sleeve trophy collection tee for Green Bay buy one get one 50% off. You: Kym...I respect you, but you do know that if the league doesn't end this lockout then your next job could be selling Yagee Water on a street corner in Cleveland. Kym: I'm sorry we are located in Kentucky. Was there anything else I could be of assistance with today?

I guess the choice is gangs/murder/violence or significant percentage of the population on welfare because they can't work or won't work or be employable because now they can get wasted all day. Will families be better off? If Mom, Dad or both are on legal drugs every day?...or their kids?...or some combination of both? I'm sure driving will be safe.... Theft probably won't stop because they'll still need money to pay bills. -
"well...my bank is #1 on the list...

No footbal news has put the media against the wall to find anything....anything... that they can stretch into a story...however sideways they have to present it. Any Fan With A Brain Must Respond. Media:" Jimmy Smith not at player workouts this week...Is this a red flag?" Any Fan With A Brain: "No you friggn'n morons! It shows he's smart! He's a 1st round pick with 1st round money on the line...if he can report healthy! He'd definately be in the boss position walking into Ozzies office after the lock out is over... with his leg in a cast!... from a torn ACL suffered while running around John Unitas stadium! Oh he would really look smart!" Yea...Ray started this...the crime increase thing if there's no football...but did he mean an increase in players getting locked up or us? Any Fan With A Brain Responds:"How dare you question Ray! He's on a mission from God!" Now this! Any Fan With A Brain: "Shocking! Stunning! Controversy! AHHHHHHH! 5.000 hours of sports talk radio starts tonight on this!!! SHOOT ME NOW!!!!!!!! Get Ron in Westministers opinon now please!" "Look...at least I gave you guys something real to talk about."

.500! 3 games out of 1st. What impresses me is they went on this winning streak after they lost those 2 games 30-0. They didn't fold and go on a 14 game losing streak like teams of the past. I really thought that was going to happen...glad it didn't
