  1. Felt great this morning....now, after work and the Foxworth news it's starting to remind me of 2001.
  2. Well he we go! The 2010 season starts today at training camp with the veterens participating and everybody's expectations are high. So high, that I felt like getting on board and laying it out that it's Super Bowl or Bust. Even Mike Preston is on board this morning... I liked his article. When you get this close "on paper" it's ok to having high expectations. It's ok to look forward to an exciting season. Certain events could bust this team such as injuries....that's true for all 32 teams.....and all 32 teams have weaknesses, so I'm not going to cringe in fear over the Ravens weaknesses. However, I will be a nervous wreck on Sundays ... Anyway...I'm excited as hell this morning and can't wait to be at camp this time tomorrow morning.
  3. Here's the first guy Buck should bring on board...
  4. Anybody hearing rumors that the Ravens might wait to offer him a contract? Should they give a guy millions when he may never play a down?
  5. Ed has every right to shout back because Preston calls him out in the title of his article; "Enough, Ed; it's time to stop whining". The article is days late from the last time Ed spoke so Mike is agitating...looking for a response. Mike is hurting since his good pal Billick left. In Prestons defense...Ed is the highest paid player on the Ravens roster this year! For real! WTF was he bitching about!?! Preston wins because he got attention.
  6. Here's why they signed T.O....
  7. I'll be there Saturday varav...around 7am...I have a #12 purple Ravens jersey with VMAX on the back (Of course I have no ego problems....)...yea...I'll try to get us seats in one of the middle tent sections around the 40 yard line.
  8. He's lucky camp wasn't last week with the 110 heat index....I'm not worried about this....the team is just pushing him.
  9. These are good questions but....It's too early! This is what camp is all about. Battling it out...fighting...competing....I have to see who stands out above the rest...earns the roster spot. I'm letting it play out. For example: Harper, Reed and Riley have to show me they are better than Clayton and D-Will.
  10. I don't think he makes them a better team. Developing the guys they have...getting them PT and game experience... is the wiser investment.
  11. This makes Baltimore Football Championships in the old NFL (Baltimore Colts), NFL (Super Bowl Ravens/Colts), CFL (Stallions), UFL (Stars) and now the AIFA.
  12. "Shades of Dan Cody"
  13. Some good news comming off the Kindle gloom... It seems like the D has all the injured players right now.
  14. That's some bad news for the team and Kindle...he won't be able to contribute this year.
  15. Head trama and football are like matches and gasoline. He's been in the hospital since Thursday so he's got 'head trama'. Did he crack his skull? Broken facial bones? The Ravens, doctors and Sergio should be 100% certain that he can take the blows before they let him suit up. I doubt he takes the field for 2-3 weeks. That will put him way behind the curve and out of the running for being an impact player early this season. He's a rookie trying to learn a complicated role in a complex defense....without every valuable snap during camp I don't see how he can get up to speed.
  16. What do you mean BallT...that he gets hurt a lot? There's a hint of that from this quote from his father...
  17. I was reading the rumors around 8am this morning but didn't take them seriously. Not good news... Anything I can say is just speculation...2 flights of stairs???? You'd have to fall over a railing to do that.... At the moment his health and recovery are more important than football.
  18. Nice article on Ramon Harewood...look out Gaither...
  19. Ravens fans are concerned about how effective the Ravens secondary will be this year. We know the defense will stop the run stone cold, so obvously teams will look in another direction and test the secondary often....that's not rocket science game planning. There is the team focus on pressuring the QB to provide the secondary with help and I think they will do better in that department this year...but that's another article. If they can get strong play out of their safeties than that will go a long way to providing additional aid to the corners. Couple that with a solid pass rush and QB pressure and the corners jobs just becomes more manageable. I'm not fooling myself into thinking Ed Reed will be ready to play in the beginning of this season....if at all. The Ravens are thinking the same or they would not have signed Hamlin. I do know that one fine day, September 13th, the Baltimore Ravens will have to put 2 safeties on the field. I think it will be Landry and Zibby. There should be a great camp battle between Hamlin and Zibby which will only make both of them perform better. In a Sun article today I was impressed by Zibby's off season efforts to get better... Ken 'The Hit Man' Hamlin is a good safety but was never as good as all the hype he received. He should be very solid depth to spell Landry and Zibby. Nevertheless, he's not getting 'back-up' money so Zibby has to clearly win this thing outright. I think he can based on how well he played at the end of last season and in the playoffs. That is valuable experience. This is his 3rd season and I think the 'light bulb' will turn on. Zibby is a fierce competator. I think Ed Reed knows he can and was ticked off by the Hamlin signing. I'm not. Welcome to Baltimore Ken...and prove me wrong These players are tight...there's solidarity and pride amoung these Ravens....Hamlin has to show that he's a 'Raven' to break into that solidarity. I think he can. Note to Matteson: Start the best man and don't let money and hype be the deceiding factor.
  20. "Are you going to wear it like these guys?"
  21. I do love what I see so far but I'm going to throw a little water on this fire. I agree with what Birk says here...
  22. I agree...but so what...this isn't fantasy football. A potent passing attack that spreads the wealth while working off a soild running game is perfect.
  23. The 2010 Bengals certainly are the best Bengal team I can remember. The defense is very good which is what they've needed to get over the top. I do think character will be their undoing...there's some reason for their late season fade last year....that's a huge red flag.
  24. Ed needs to shut up. First he's speaking in parables....nobody knows what he's trying to say. Second...he had no problem signing his big deal but he doesn't like it now with 3 years remaining? I think at that time the Ravens made him the highest paid safety in the league. He didn't have to sign that...but he agreed to it. He's getting around $6-7 mil for this season....and the Ravens will pay him even if he only plays 6-8 games. No GM will throw sick money at a player with a nerve inpingement in his neck and comming off basicly a total hip replacement. He's says he's at 34%....he doesn't know, we don't know, nobody knows if he'll ever be able to reach 70% of his former atheletic ability. Face it...he's falling apart...which is a sad fact of life for people who choose his profession. Oh...NFL safeties don't get Manning money. Oh...8-10 more years???? ED...what you need to do is retire before you become a cripple for life.
