  1. There...I just corrected the Topic title by using my magic keyboard powers invested in me by the ExtremeRavens Moderation Staff (pictured below), who for some unknown reason, harbor a belief system that I can use them responsibly...
  2. No ice here in Baltimore...too warm for that. Wind is the only factor that could hurt and that's not in the forecast. Detroit's a Dome Team...let's see if they like getting their footsies cold and wet. The Steelers couldn't handle the cold Thursday. Their nuts shriveled up. "Todays English lesson... :

    Need Help

They won't post crav...you'll have to use this from the ER Annual pool party...
  4. Remember: The Chiefs, Raiders and Brownies became Trap Games for a Pittsburgh team who was supposed to unleash hell. "Let's go inside the Ravens locker room and see what Ray has to say about this..." Here's the trap: The Ravens start slow as usual and let the Lions hang around. Suddenly there's Cullpepper to Johnson and those 4th quarter Obligatory Defensive Game Losing Penalties. Here's the escape: Flacco has a field day against a poor Lions secondary with Mason, Washington and Williams. Williams has everything set to have a great day. They can't cover him. He can make a big difference. Oh...Ray Rice should have a fun day. Conclusion: I don't see how this can be a close game. The Ravens offense will put up the points against a Lions defense that gives up the most points per game in the NFL. Thank You crav for not putting 'The Curse' on this game... ...then there would have been no hope...season over...
  5. thanks bmw. So I'm doing the math and speculation-wise I'm with crav's original post of this thread with the exception that I see the 2 losses for Denver and the Jags... Now...the Ravens chances of winning out are not too good IMO, yet given the schedule it's not impossible. What we have is an average .500 team trying to win out over sub .500 teams (that helps). Do it one game at a time but they must get better as a team each game and hit Pittsburgh on a roll. It will make each game and each week, if it's a win, very exciting.
  6. I definately have my doubts. They looked like a team that quit last Sunday...they looked like the Steelers who have lost 5 straight (3 to slappies!)...that wasn't supposed to happen. But I'll go with my head...the Ravens beat teams with losing records. Every team on their remaining schedule has a losing record..... I'll say this...it will be a war in Pittsburgh because that's their season now...to avenge their loss to the Ravens and knock them out of the playoffs. That is the stuff that makes the great rivalries.
  7. What's with the thread title? I know you want to get in. I always want to make the playoffs. The Playoffs were a factor in getting PSL's...I want that guaranteed seat. If I could get through the 4-12 and 6-9 seasons, then I think I can handle a playoff loss... Remember...it's a looooooong off season so every extra week of Ravens football is icing on the cake. Remember this too....the Ravens almost beat the Colts and Pats and who knows what a 3rd shot at the Bengals will bring? One key here is to enter the playoffs on a roll...like the Ravens winning out the rest of the schedule. They'd be dangerous then...to any AFC opponent.

    STAINS!

5 straight losses and the Steeler house is burning down. Losses to KC, Oakland and a 1 win Brownie team.
  9. LOL Steelers..."They really suck!"

    STAINS!

Awesome...I caught the second half. Their secondary covers people...the front 7 sacks and pressures the QB. Great defensive effort because Quin couldn't hit the side of a barn. Perhaps I'll make a trip to visit my good friends on the Brownie board....
  11. I really want him to succeed in Detroit...just not this Sunday.
  12. $70,000,000!!! This is getting real ugly. No hospital visit for the broken nose. No calls to the police. No criminal charges filed....but she deserves $70,000,000. Right.
  13. I herad that too...something about his knee.
  14. No. Did you forget a washed up Marvin Harrison look like a Pro Bowler vs him last year. The only positive to McAlister playing corner for the Ravens is he wouldn't make the Obligatory Defensive Pass Interference Game Losing Penalty. Because he can't get close enough to a receiver to touch him...
  15. geo...Preston, in an article today, has a side note about what is going on here league wide. Parity is part of the reason so many organizations are 'up and down' with success/failure going in cycles... It kind of relates to the topic... The positive to this is an apx 50% turnover in playoff teams. Teams going from 6-10 to 10-6 every year...and then back down again.. That gets fans excited and gives them hope. Even Browns fans think this is their year every pre season...until OCT 1st... The downs side is watered-down football. There are only so many quality starting QB's, DE's, Nose guards, LT's and shut down CB's available. Not enough for 32 teams and that will get worse with expansion. Because of the CAP (and I'm all for it), teams can only 'buy' so many difference making stars. You can't throw money into all the team holes because that CAP keeps the spending playing field level. So...for example...Ozzie rolls the dice and they decide to bring back Walker and Washington...he buys Fozworth thinking this will fill the void and tighten up the secondary...Rolle will be back anyway... Well...it hasn't worked out to plan and the quickest way to go from 1st to worst is to have a crappy secondary. The next way is a crappy QB. Both are mortal wounds to a football team. We've lived that here in Baltimore. We know. Thankfully Ozzie hits well in the draft. He got Webb and it would really be bad without him this year. He got Flacco and Rice. He committed to building an O line and that will bare fruit and keep this team competative. After years of drafting defense he went for O the last few...that's paying off but now the D has holes showing up. See the cycle? You can't have it all...you can't stay on top forever or the bottom. The exceptions here are few: There are outstanding Front Offices who put a competetive product out with regularity. They are the Slappie Front Offices/Owners who can't hit the side of the barn with a shot gun. The Ravens stated goal is to be consistently competetive...like the Colts, Pats ect. That was stated around the time Harbaugh was hired so they have not achieved that yet...it's early for a plan like that. It means they will not mortgage the future to win now. They will not go to CAP Jail. Ozzie did that once to get us a Super Bowl and he won't do that again. He loved the Ring but hated the price and consequences. As we all know there are a ton of factors that go into building a solid football team and that is why we have so much to talk about in the off season. Long winded today but I love talking football with everybody...
  16. Green Bay tried to give this game away. They played just as sloppily as the Ravens. They are good...but not Elite. This Ravens team is reeling due to injuries, confidence, focus.... they broke down. Packed it in. Everybody is running into their own foxhole and covering up. I don't have time to list all the signs this morning. You don't come back in one week from that. The dam has holes sprouting all over the place. The band aids,...the smoke and mirrors are not covering up the overall weaknesses.
  17. We know he can stretch the field and make plays...he's good. He's a playmaker. The problem is he's NEVER healthy. Some guys have this problem and they never find out "what they could have been".
  18. This Ravens team looks like they have a better chance to lose out rather than win out. I don't see any game 'in the bag'. They fell apart Monday night.
  19. He got exposed against the Redskins. He's lost 'his game'.
  20. Grubbs was getting pushed around all night...maybe he's hurt. Come to think of it, a ton of players were on the injury report this week but played hurt. That goes for Flacco...ribs, serious hip bruise, sprained ankle...and who knows what else after last night. The Packers were definately the faster team on the field.
  21. Something must be wrong with McAlister. If he still "had it" they wouldn't let him go. "Maybe they should tape the secondary's arms to their sides so they can't grab anybody."
  22. The wild card spot was on the line and with that at stake the effort was shitty. Ho-Hum offensive line slowly walking around and wiffing on assignments. Receivers unable to get seperation. Team wide discipline problems...the penalties say meltdown! Poop in pants. I haven't seen such a mess since the Detroit Meltdown. It's a different form of quitting but it's quitting IMO.
  23. I've seen enough. Can't win with that group. They're JV.
